Working with Hawes & Co. to rent my home was an absolute pleasure. From the very first interaction, Tayer and Emil were attentive, professional, and genuinely committed to making the process as straightforward as possible. They handled every detail with care and ensured I was kept informed throughout. Their friendly and approachable nature made what could have been a stressful experience feel effortless. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received and would highly recommend Hawes & Co. to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy agency!

I received an excellent, friendly and very professional service from Tayler Currier and Kamilla Mcdonald in Hawes & Co’s letting department in Wimbledon. They successfully found me a property to rent and then guided and supported me through the process of referencing and moving in. I would strongly recommend Hawes & Co to anyone who may be looking for a rental property.

The estate agent from hell Chased them for days and they never replied, until the property eventually rented.Cancelled their another viewing I had because the couldn’t check with the landlord first if they accepted pets, when they eventually said they didn’t, this awful agency cancelled on me last minute. The think people can just be treated like that! They are appalling Do not use!

I’ve just completed the sale of my house in Wimbledon through Hawes. John Gordon has been excellent throughout - professional, helpful, responsive, reliable and straightforward. A real “relationship builder”, John couldn’t have provided a better service.

We completed on the sale of our house yesterday. We cannot speak highly enough of John Gordon and Hawes & Co, Wimbledon. From our very first conversation with John, we knew we were in safe hands. Communication was excellent throughout the whole sales process and John's knowledge, friendliness and professionalism made him a delight to deal with. If you are looking to buy or sell property in the Wimbledon area, I would heartily recommend using Hawes & Co.

We've recently let a propery via Hawes & Co and dealt with Emil who we found to be professional, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much of a task, we were kept up to date throughout the whole process. Any unexpected issue were dealt there and then, very pleased how it all went.

Paul recently supported my parents in their purchase of a retirement flat in Merton. He was very supportive and patient throughout and I'd be very happy to recommend him.

Not a good experience. Reluctant to arrange further viewings. Slow or nil response to questions. Rushing to close deal without paying attention to details that need to remind client.

We purchased a property which was being sold via Hawes & Co. Marcus acted as the agent and was professional, polite and genuine. When the time comes that we move from this house, we would definitely look to instruct Hawes & Co. Thanks Marcus for a positive buying experience.

We worked with Paul to sell our one-bed flat in Wimbledon and he was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, responsive, transparent and trustworthy. From start to finish Paul managed our expectations at every stage and made each next step clear. It seemed he was in control of the journey with solicitors for the most part, which is a tough feat! and was pushing and chasing for us when it got to the final weeks of exchange. Couldn't recommend Paul and Hawes & Co enough for the hard work put into the sale of our property. Very happy sellers.

Ria Lawrence and Georgia White recently managed a tenancy changeover where I was the incoming tenant in a 2-tenant houseshare (joint AST). There were significant challenges with this process, many of which were clarified after further discussions with Ria. While some concerns were addressed, the experience was still far from ideal. Here's a summary of my updated experience: Deposit Handling: I was uncomfortable with the fact that Ria required the deposit to be transferred to the outgoing tenant before we could sign the contract. This felt like poor practice, especially since the outgoing tenant was not held accountable for leaving the property in a poor condition. However, Ria has clarified that this procedure was in line with their policies, which state that deposits must be transferred between tenants before finalising paperwork/before the outgoing tenant leaves. I feel this is a risky procedure, and feel Hawes & Co's process needs to be updated. Contract Access: I could not review the contract until after the deposit was transferred, which made me feel pressured. Ria mentioned I could have requested a draft earlier, but this wasn’t clearly communicated. Inventory and Cleaning Responsibility: Ria did not advise the outgoing tenant to clean the property before leaving or hold him accountable for any damages. After discussion, Ria clarified that Hawes & Co was not responsible for inventory management or cleaning, which fell outside their remit. While this is apparently in line with company policy, it was frustrating and resulted in additional cleaning and damage costs for the remaining tenant and landlord. The lack of clear guidance about these responsibilities contributed to an unprofessional experience. Outgoing Tenant’s Cooperation: We anticipated issues with the outgoing tenant, particularly around unpaid bills, but Ria did not assist with this. She explained that communication between tenants was beyond Hawes & Co’s role. While this may be true, more proactive support would have been appreciated. Ria has now raised this feedback internally to assess if they can better assist future tenancy transitions. Contract Issues: The contract drafted by Ria’s assistant, Georgia, had several mistakes, including missing clauses and incomplete rent payment information. Ria acknowledged these errors and corrected them after they were brought to her attention. However, this added unnecessary delays and stress. Communication Problems: Ria’s responses to questions about the contract were often incomplete, requiring multiple follow-ups. While she did answer some queries, it was frustrating to have to keep chasing her for full responses. Ria has since apologised for any communication gaps but maintains she addressed the key areas within her remit. I still believe clearer, more proactive communication would have helped resolve issues faster. Outgoing Tenant’s Accountability: When the outgoing tenant left the property unclean and damaged, he wasn’t held responsible. Ria clarified that the decision not to pursue him for damages was made by the landlord, not her. I still feel that more could have been done to ensure the outgoing tenant was held accountable. Key Handover Issues: After signing the contract, there were issues with the key handover. The concierge wouldn’t release my keys because Ria hadn’t informed them. Ria has since apologised, explaining that she missed the initial email about the key release. She took action the next day to resolve the situation and offered a refund equivalent to one day’s rent as a goodwill gesture, which I really appreciated. In summary, while Ria and Hawes & Co have addressed some of the concerns I raised, the process was still stressful and poorly handled. I appreciate the clarifications and apologies provided, but my overall experience was marked by a lack of proactive support and professionalism during key stages of the tenancy changeover. I would caution anyone considering working with Hawes & Co to clarify expectations upfront and ensure all parties are aligned on roles and responsibilities.

Hawes and Co have treated us horribly

I have lived in a apartment that was being sold by Hawes&Co, and I have lived in an apartment that was managed by Hawes&Co. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. During the selling of the apartment I lived in, the agents turned up on multiple occasions with potential buyers without having informed me. They also organised viewings and didn't even turn up, leaving stranded potential viewers outside - confused and upset. They also told us that our wishes regarding viewing times could be ignored as they had keys and could enter whenever they wanted. During my stay in an apartment run by Hawes&Co they refused to tell us how much the fee for leaving early would be, then charged us £1175 - the majority of this is to cover a crazy fee they didn't tell us about that is unlawful, and the rest they refused to itemise or explain. To be clear - we had no outstanding or late rent payments, no charges for undue wear and tear or damage to the property, and the apartment was found a new tenant in 2 viewings, with only 4 days of the listing being online.

Marcus Short is fantastic at Hawes & Co. Highly recommend working with him when selling your property. Best estate agent I’ve ever worked with. Very friendly, communicative, calm and generally great guy. He came and valued our property, and he got the sale up and running very quickly. He was always quick to respond and very helpful. Everything went smoothly because of him and he was great with updates.

Ria, Georgia and Brooke recently successfully handled a tenant finding service for my property. Although it was a long process from my end due to ongoing leak issues in my property, the team were very patient and remained professional throughout the journey. It was a very smooth process, with everything falling into place as planned eventually. The team were flexible both commercially and through the process. Brooke was a super star, an asset to Hawes. Through diligence, being thorough and prompt action, she averted serious problems. Thank you team, I would absolutely recommend and use your services again and again.

Hawes & Co look after 5 blocks of flats for us and we are very happy with the service they provide. We work closely with Rosie (the manager) and her colleagues Sara and Kelly in lettings who are all excellent. We have low voids and high levels of renewals across the portfolio which is mainly due to the hard work they put into marketing and looking after the properties and our tenants. The team are brilliant when it comes to communication and handling the rent, where Michelle in accounts is outstanding. We manage the repairs in house but nonetheless work closely with Jeff and the team in the property management department who also do a great job handling tenant enquiries to make sure that the properties are well maintained.

We are purchasing our flat with Hawes & co. and we have just exchanged contracts. Chloe was our contact right from the start and since the beginning she has been so helpful and professional. She has always been available for us, helpful in all the stages of the process and she has gone above and beyond trying to moderate the process and smooth progresses. She always gave feedback on where we were in the process, liaising with the buyers and our solicitors, keeping one step ahead of things. We are thrilled to complete in a couple of weeks and this also thanks to Chloe. I would highly recommend using Hawes & Co to any potential buyers.

Good experience with Hawes & Co Wimbledon

We purchased and sold through Marcus at Hawes & Co, Wimbledon. On the purchase side, we found him to be a professional. He was relaxed and not pushy, and didn’t make the process more stressful than it already was. On the sale side, we were very pleased with the photos, organisation of marketing and the well run process. Marcus was a pleasure to deal with, and in his absence, Paul was well on top of everything that was going on. Granted, the transactions worked out. But this was a good experience.
