Shipley Lakeside - Fantastic

What can I say. It all started quite innocently from a drive down and a little look around. Gave our details to the office as we were looking for a 3 bed, none available at the time. Fast forward 3 weeks later and a phone call out of the blue from Charlotte at Shipley Lakeside. Asked me if we would be interested in a 4 bedroom property that had been reduced. Appt made that weekend, came down to view, Charlotte gave us a very extensive and professional viewing of the property, gave us time to take in all the information she was giving us, no pressure at any time. We told her we loved it and would be instructing estate agents on the Monday. House on the market by Thursday, sold by Friday. Rang Charlotte and Sarah and gave them the good news, they were just as excited as us at the speed of the sale. Another appt made to come and see Sarah that weekend to get the property reserved. Sarah took her time and went through all the different plans, site drawings that she needed to, never felt rushed. House reserved that day. Contact from both Charlotte and Sarah didn’t stop once we had reserved. We got weekly photos every Monday showing progress of our house. Regular phone calls from them both to see how things were progressing with solicitors (Ison Harrison). Felt like we were important to them. Every time we came to site to see either of the ladies they always took their time to deal with whatever query we had. Both Charlotte and Sarah are an asset to the company, they are the great mixture of friendly yet professional. Had a full house demo before moving in, met Richard and Jamie (both again very approachable and friendly) went through all items within the house that we needed to know. Listen to Richard when he tells you to put a potato in your oven for an hour, it will take all the oil out of it and no burning smell. It really does work, thankyou Richard. We moved into our lovely Harron home 9 weeks later. Charlotte and Sarah made it feel very special and came down to our house to hand over keys and another photo of us outside our lovely new home. Few days after moving in Jamie popped round to see if all ok, spoke about few little issues. Nothing major, these are currently being worked through. Love our new Harron Home, would definitely recommend Harron Homes. Love it at Shipley Lakeside.

Beautiful setting - Onsite team fantastic - Head office awful

Moved to Shipley lakeside about 2 months ago. The on-site team are excellent and can't fault them or their service. Charlotte, Sarah, Rich, Ki and Dale are all wonderful and helpful. House only had a few snagging problems and nothing out of the ordinary. However, a word to the wise - Whatever you do, get everything sorted before you transition to head office. Every interaction we've had has been utterly abysmal from before/during purchase to (and especially) aftercare. Slow (if at all) responses, discriminatory language and once... downright negligence. Absolutely awful experience dealing with them. UPDATE: Out of the 5 minor snagging issues we have (yep just 5) NONE have been sorted in over a month.UPDATE2: Still 5 snagging issues - no responses, it's now nearly 3 months.

Harron Home at Brierley Heath

I bought a Harron Home at Brierley Heath in September 2022. The house is lovely, & the build is great. Couldn’t be happier.It’s the first time I’ve bought a new build property, and although there were a few snagging details that needed seeing too, the site manager Todd Scott has been amazing, nothing is to much trouble & he’s kept me up to date and got jobs sorted quickly. I can’t sing his praises enough. I would definitely recommend buying a Harron home at Brierley Heath.

Leaving a 5* review for Jeanett at Thorpe meadows. We reserved a plot , she worked with us and gave us extra time after we lost a buyer. We ended up finding another but in the mean time with extra time to think it over we realised the house or plot wasn’t for us so we have cancelled. Jeanett was amazing through it all and couldn’t have done enough to help us. If we decide to buy at Thorpe meadows in the future on the release next year on a property we prefer , we will be straight back to see her.

Harron homes fitted a drive at my property and installed a garage. I raised the following issues with them:- the drainage was not fitted correctly- the garage columns were not completed (also highlighted on a RICS survey of the house)- the drive was not cambered properly to drainOver two years, Harron homes failed to recognise the complaint or deal with itI would never recomend anyone buys their houses, especially on their development in Retford. They are crooks, with more concern for their own wallet than recognising mistakes and fixing themTheir mistakes will likely cost me upwards of £2,000 to fixI’m happy to follow up with Harron Homes and request that they contact me again as they did so with a 3 day deadline whilst I was away

We have recently purchased and moved into a Harron home in Shipley, Derby. We have been thrilled with the level of service we have received, Charlotte and Sarah sent us regular updates throughout our journey with lovely pictures, helping us if we were struggling with solicitors or home choices. Nothing is too much trouble. The house, in our opinion, has been completed to a very high standard. We have minimal snags, Rich, Jamie and the team have been proactive in getting anything resolved and check in too make sure everything is going well. We've only been here a few weeks but so far so good, a fab team here.

? Illegal builders ?

We reserved a home on Simpson Park months ago but have still not exchanged contracts because our Solicitors tell us the paperwork is not legal. Harron Homes don’t seem to be dealing with this at all other than to leave us aggressive voicemails telling us to “ignore the solicitors”. (Happy to share these.) Well, we can’t ignore the solicitors, unfortunately, as the mortgage isn’t valid on properties without correct legal documentation. We’ve completed on our sale and are stuck in an air b&b with two kids… our Solicitors are “no sale no fee” so just as keen to get us in but… no luck. I would be really cautious here - the houses look lovely but you might get to the final hurdle and find you’ve been missold and messed around :( notice there are lots of reviews on here who’ve reserved, not many completed happy customers? See Victims of Harron Homes group on Fbook and buyer beware :(

NO CUSTOMER CARE AT HIGH GABLES

There have been many things along the purchasing journey that have gone a miss, and usually these can be taken as "bumps in the road", as we all know house buying is the most stressful thing you can do.As a property developer, who specialise in building and selling new build properties, you would think that Harron Homes would have mastered their ability to provide customer care and build properties to the very highest standard... DO NOT BE FOOLED!!We have been in our new home now for three weeks and have not received any form of customer care, as described in the Customer Care Charter, which states - At Harron Homes we are committed to providing the very best product and service to all of our customers. We make a number of commitments and promises as part of our customer charter.The promises made are consistently over-promises with no timeframe whatsoever on providing any trustworthy response.We are still waiting for a refund for removal fees which was promised, and we only paid for one "extra" (a doormat) and they still have not fitted this!!! The site has no snagger - therefore, don't expect any snags to be done!!I have emailed Harron Homes this morning to ask that I be given any form of communication in response to my ongoing concerns and I did not expect to receive a response, but was surprised to receive an automated response at 9:20hrs.Sadly this falls in line with all previous communication, as it states - Thank you for contacting Harron Homes customer service team. Unfortunately, our customer service lines are closed today and will reopen on Monday at 08:30 am.I am confused... It is Monday and passed 8:30am!!! Does anyone work at the Customer Care Team and will they contact me back with a suitable conclusion... I will keep you posted.

Great customer service and beautiful showhomes

My husband and I visited the sales office at Shipley Lakeside on Saturday morning. We were warmly greeted by Charlotte who was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. We viewed the show homes which were beautiful and, having seen quite a few recently by other developers, these are by far the nicest we have seen. Having spoken about potential builds, Charlotte took us to look at the site and suggested that we visit a showhome on a different site, giving us all the relevant details to allow us to arrange things. We are extremely impressed.
