Lords Fold site manager Dave

Lords Fold site has had its ups and downs, but ever since Dave (the new site manager) has taken over in January 2023, the site now feels like it’s being managed to a high standard, it feels and looks like a building site, with plenty of trades doing their business. As for Dave himself, he is very accommodating, always happy to chat and update you with progress to date, I personally have found Dave to go beyond what’s expected, leaving me with positive vibes on the progress of my new home. Delighted so far..

We're still at the stage of regularly driving by Scholars Place - and checking out how the construction is going...so can't yet comment on finish or after sales service, but, up to now, Eccleston Homes have been a great company to deal with - our contact being Martin. He is really friendly and approachable, seemed genuinely pleased for us when we got the plot we wanted after problems with our initial sale falling through and there is no 'hard sell'. We have been really impressed so far, and are looking forward to our new house being completed in a couple of months.

DREADFUL

Having been asked to leave a review back in May 2022, I feel it is my duty to leave another. Being in the service industry myself I don't fully support social review pages as many of them are misleading and dishonest, this review is whole heartedly HONEST........ In the early stages, the Sales Director and his team were excellent, lovely people! At this stage there were early signs that their hands were tied from powers above, not being able to fully satisfy their customers. The house I wished to purchase was a dream home and to secure the property I had to exchange contracts for a much earlier completion date than wished for, or I could lose the sale, I agreed and we completed much earlier than wished. Once contacts were signed, between exchange and completion service started to become compromised. The original site manager was extremely unprofessional and rude. My new home was used as a site office, staff canteen, all my new toilets were being used by site staff leaving raw faeces and urine on all toilets. On 1st August 2022 I completed, EH received over half a million pounds. I relocated with two children with overnight bags to a local hotel whilst we had a few days to install extras which EH would not help accommodate. Nearly five months later my children and I are still living in the same hotel room with very little belongings. We arranged for a professional snagging report to be carried out on the property, we asked EH if they could come before completion. They said 'no'. With over 200 items on the snagging list, these varied from seriously dangerous health and safety issues, construction and build issues and aesthetics. Five months later we are still living in the same hotel room waiting for these to be rectified and our home is not habitable as there are critical safety issues which remain unresolved as well as many more items. I have never experienced anything like this. The details are endless, too much to list in such a review. Their method in satisfying their customers is somewhat dumbfounded 'save pennies, incur pounds', to give a small example; repainting of internal door frames, instructions were.... to paint only the front and back, not the middle. The only word that best describes their service is 'spiteful'. One of their Construction Directors last said to me ' we don't think you're a cow bag', not really understanding this type of vocabulary, I presume this is of an insulting nature and arises it would seem because I have the audacity to request that works be undertaken to a professional standard. To date, we haven't received any financial support from EH. No personal communication from the owners of the company has been made, you would have thought they would have made every attempt to complete our home as a matter of urgency and been personable during this debacle. Instead, they are trying to force us to move into our home for Christmas to live on unlevel concrete floors, surrounded with silica dust with a son whom has a severe health condition. Unfortunately, my patience has run thin and my family and I are suffering. We have had no other option to turn to the law, to seek protection for my family. I'm finding it challenging to provide for my children as best possible and we need a home. Whilst EH have all of our monies we are destitute. This review is an act of kindness. I have recently seen another snagging video of an EH property, it was that disturbing it brought me to tears and I couldn't continue to watch. Please, please, please if you wish to purchase a EH property ensure you thoroughly inspect the build quality before completing, I wouldn't wish for any other family to experience the stress and anxiety we have, it's been and still is unbearable. I do hope over the festive period the owners of EH take time to reflect on their company ethos, try to find some kindness, whilst enjoying their family Christmas in their homes. Nina Hallam

Worst customer service

You couldn’t find a worst customer service if you were looking for one. This developer has no interest in delivering houses to the standard you pay your house for. You can email them as many times as you want but just get ignored. Unfortunately the issues you can get with your house are pretty important such as drainage. As said in other comments, the customer service is that bad that if you leave a bad comment on trust pilot they chose to ignore you for even longer. A joke.

Remember you don’t start living the Eccleston home nightmare until you are in your new home. The customer service is absolutely dreadful, they do not care at all.Once you are in, you will soon realise they don’t keep their promises and fob you off at every opportunity.The reason a lot of residents in our development don’t disclose their identity is because they fear receiving even worse customer service. Amazing Home Buying Experience

Our house hunting experience has probably been like many other people recently. You find a house you like and someone pays a lot more and raises the price. You find a development you like but all houses are sold. House prices keep going up month after month until they are out of reach. It’s all very frustrating. Eccleston homes has been the best experience out of the many developers we visited. This is mainly because instead of telling us to keep refreshing the website for releases, Eccleston will take our names and work off a list. This works so well because you don’t have to worry about missing a release - not everyone has time to sit in front of a computer refreshing the website. The list system was massively appreciated!Dawn at the Christy Brow development of Eccleston Homes has been exceptional. She assured us that she knew the house type we wanted and would contact us if it was our turn on the list.Eventually, Dawn emailed us about a house that was available so of course we took it. Throughout the buying process Dawn kept in touch with us and updated us on even minor things. She is polite, friendly and would be happy to answer any questions I had. Overall this has been a very enjoyable home buying experience, thank you Dawn and Eccleston Homes!
