GoogleInitially very friendly and helpful, eager to get us booked in for a viewing which was great. Viewing day came, received a phone call to rearrange, no reason given but was apologized to. Rearranged for a few days later. Arrived to the area of the viewing, couldn't find it so I rang and asked if they could help, to be told that the house had gone and that we weren't even booked in for a viewing. Again, apologized and asked for details. Was reluctant to give them and put the phone down. Poor experience although I hope this is a one off from this place, but can't be sure. Will not be using these again.
Thomas, thank you for being honest with your review. I am obviously very disappointed to hear your comments, this comes to me as a big surprise as Dowen Durham very rarely receives poor reviews. However no one is perfect and mistakes/complacency can happen, this is my job to eradicate it. The branch has been hugely effected by positive covid 19 tests therefore putting stress of the work force. I hope you find your perfect home but if you were to see a property through Dowen please call me direct and I will personally book the appointment. GoogleDealt with caroline ryan at dowen. From the outset communication was superb. Pwe were updated and calls were always returned if enquiries could not be completed on first contact. I had dreadful experience with robinsons just prior to dealing with dowen so it was amazing to find a company that still has strong core values around the customer. Thanks for getting us settled dowen. I will always make dowen my first port of call. 10/10 caroline.

GoogleI recently rented my first home through Dowens estate agent and I absolutely could not fault them At all. When originally viewing the house my viewing agent arrived on time and with all of the correct documents including my application form if I did wish to take it. Then once I had submitted my form my lead agent Was JAN INGLEBY she was absolutely amazing, I was quite nervous throughout the whole process and I kept bothering her with questions but she was always so helpful and happy to answer any question no matter how silly, she was extremely productive and the most helpful lady I ever did meet. She got everything sorted for me within 1 week she still to this day she checks up on me and the property regularly. GoogleCouldn’t of been happier with the service. Went into town with the intention of putting up with a different sales agent. But the service received was poor - popped into Dowens with no appointment and no expectations. Couldn’t of been more helpful. Spent time talking to us - arranged a valuation. When the house went up for sale the property sold within three days with 9 viewings and well over the asking price. Great service.
Ben, those comments made me so proud, basic customer service has been lost in the industry, at Dowen we always try and keep to the core values and basic principals of customer service. To me you do your best for the person who is in front of you or on the phone, nothing else matters apart from them. The gentleman who showed me round was unobtrusive whilst I was looking round but on hand for any questions. He too was well-informed regarding the details of the property and highly personable.
