Excellent service selling our flat

We recently accepted an offer for a rental flat in Edinburgh and we were very impressed by the DJ Alexander sales team. Sarah Macintyre provided a very accurate desktop valuation and right from the start she was very helpful and friendly, providing excellent advice about marketing the flat.Sarah was extremely knowledgable about the sales market, very proactive, and later in the process, her negotiating skills proved very valuable. Sara Rankin provided a very high quality prospectus, with great photography showing our flat at its best, which definitely increased the number of viewings. The whole process ran very smoothly, including preparing the flat to go on the market, which included a few repairs and complete redecoration. The upgrades were very well organised by Ashleigh Love, who did a great job ensuring that contractors delivered results in a very short time frame. Sarah, Sara, and Ashleigh were all extremely professional but also friendly and helpful - they were a pleasure to deal with. Thanks very much to Sarah and all her sales team for a great team effort and for providing such an excellent service !

Avoid them at all costs!! When you first apply they’re very helpful and nice but once you move in they ghost you they won’t help you!! My toilet wasn’t flushing properly from September 2023 and they didn’t fix it until April 2024 I was traveling when they fixed it and when I came back they left the bathroom in a disgusting way and when I contacted them asking who did this they said no entered the flat and that it’s my problem even tho they sent me an email that a contractor will be entering my flat while I was traveling!!! The washing machine was really old and broke on me while my clothes are inside it and they wouldn’t do anything I had to run after them 24/7 just for them to get my clothes out and I was left about 3-4 week without a washer/ dryer!!! When i moved in I was told the flat will be professionally cleaned but it wasn’t specifically the kitchen it was absolutely disgusting and when I asked them to send a cleaning company to clean it they refused and said it was cleaned but their was old rotten food in kitchen cupboards!! And after I moved out they completely ghosted me regarding my deposit after sending me an email that the cleaning I did wasn’t up to their standards but after I told them I hired a cleaning company that THEY RECOMMENDED TO ME and I payed 260£ to get cleaned to get my full deposit back they said ok we will recommend that the landlord returns the full deposit and I was ghosted after that for 3 weeks I started the deposit release process but they still didn’t respond even tho the flat was taken and occupied by the new tenants I had to call them while I was out of the country and run after them 24/7 just to get my money back they made everything 10000x more difficult and stressful they will try to get every £ they can get from you!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM THEY ARE THE WORST LETTING AGENCY I EVER WORKED WITH!!!

Cannot recommend with respect to end of tenancy issues. Just be prepared to set aside £250 for their own cleaning company to come in after you've left because that's what they will charge you regardless of how clean a condition you return the property in.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with DJ Alexander Estate Agents. On the second day after moving into the property, I raised several maintenance issues and complaints. Despite sending multiple emails and making numerous calls to their office, I received no response or resolution. It has now been almost two months, and there is still no sign of any action or communication from their side. This level of service is unacceptable, and I will certainly not be recommending DJ Alexander to any of my friends or family.

Property Renovation

My property has been very successfully rented out with DJ Alexander for many years. They always give good practical advice and have proven over the years to be experts in the market. A big thanks to Cassandra for helping me with much needed renovations to the property recently; they provided a good service in a budge on time. I look forwards to the next lease.

We are currently renting from DJ…

We are currently renting from DJ Alexander for the past 1,5 years and now unfortunately, need to look for a new property as our landlords are selling the flat we are currently living in. We are very happy with the agency, the maintenance team was always very nice and helpful and if there were any problems or delays it was never because of them, but 3rd party contractors etc... Even today, when I called to book a viewing Hannah B was a great help, she understood our situation and kindly helped us with booking a new flat viewing. Thank you!

Avoid. Your data is not safe

Took over the letting agency my landlord used, TayLetting, read reviews to see they are buying up small agents. Then they shared personal data with contractors without permission. But worse, they are utterly hopeless at managing shared services at the property. The final straw is a schedule of charges - no other agent makes in my experience- including an automated reference, 3 questions £30. Scammers exploiting tenants at every opportunity.

Incredibly badly managed, repairs are only cosmetically done, disrespectful and intimidating towards tenants, disability discrimination, no concern for health and safety or interest to maintain the property.
