I am really happy to say that so far this was the best letting agency I have rented with! I don't know what other people have experienced with Stonehouse that they wrote such low reviews but I can personally say that we are really happy with them. The moment we had the property viewings up to the point of receiving the keys and beyond that point they were always professional. I want to thank Gill especially for all the help she has given us from day one! We were struggling to find a good property and at such short notice as we had a bad experience with a potential other letting agency that let us down but we explained our situation to Gill and she acted upon it real quick! The property that we rent now is more that we could have hoped for and we are considering to stay with this agency for a good few years. Issues resolved clearly

We had a problem with a leaking shower door and a broken shower head holder. David Harcus (Maintenance Co-ordinator) kept me updated with emails which informed me that the issue had been logged, who they were sending to fix it, who they resent to finish fixing it, and a confirmation checking that the issue had been solved to our satisfaction. I was really pleased to see that when the issue was first logged, David had listened exactly to the way I described the problem and written it down clearly for the contractor. Thanks DJ Alexander :)

Excellent conveyancing and property management service

I've used DJ Alexander's services for the past 3 years when I bought, rented out and recently sold my flat in Glasgow. For each service, I was very impressed with the proactive and responsive way in which the team and especially Catherine Bruce handled any queries I had. Buying or selling a property can be a long, arduous process (especially over lockdown) but Catherine made the process as simple as possible and communicated updates regularly to put me at ease. Very pleased with the service

I’m a recent landlord renting out my property via apropos/DJ Alexander and I found them to be very responsive, quick and efficient. As though they don't actually want to let properties...

This is not a verdict on any of the individual employees at DJ Alexander and their Apropos service (who have all been very nice and helpful). Instead this is a review of the lettings agency as a whole, which has sent us on one wild goose chase after another for more than a month now.I have never received a reply from DJ Alexander to either emails or inquiries sent through their website. When calling, I have often been on hold for over half an hour waiting to speak to someone. Although they have always been very nice when I have got through, I have never been contacted back with responses to my queries despite taking my details on each occasion. Their policy on virtual viewings is inconsistent: we were sometimes told that they are not possible at all, sometimes that they are fine, and another time booking an appointment only to be told an hour before than actually the agent wasn't able to do it. Even after traveling up to Edinburgh to make viewings in person most of my viewings were cancelled at short notice or, in one case, with no notification at all. This is not a problem we have had with any other lettings agent.After many years of lettings across several cities, both good and bad, this is undoubtedly the most difficult and frustrating experience we have ever had.

Issue fixed- Boiler issue with no assistance

Issue Fixed, one of the Managers called us on Sunday to discuss this and everything has been fixed on the day after. Remarkable. Really appreciated it!Still renting one of their properties in Edinburgh. Our tenancy ends on the 21st on July and last Monday one of the boiler valves just blew up, leaving us with no water. We've been calling during the last four days, hoping for this David to call us back in order to let us know about someone able to fix this, but it seems like he's too busy to send a good plumber to replace the valve so we can get water back normally. Even though we are leaving, we paid our last rent as we've been doing for almost three years! I think we deserve some attention!
