Have them a 5 star at first review as you know what they did really well for the first 3/4 months helping out and sorting things quite rapidly. Now after living here for 6months every time you ask for a little help, the excuse is there busy if you need something looked at, contact customer services as they have a team that comes out to do this for you, on site workers are too busy doing new houses and can’t afford the time to assist. Not what we were told at the beginning when they were looking for 5 star reviews and site manager was pushing for us to do it. Kept asking have you reviewed us yet. At that point if we wanted a painted job done or crack repaired it was done asap. Now it’s the go do one attitude. Also recently had a attempted break in, ask if they could help sort out a repairer. Not much help here either, passed us a email to contact but they don’t deal with public unless countryside would order for us and we pay them back which I wouldn’t mind doing, just wanted the damaged repaired and get back on with our lives. So asked if they could order new patio doors on our behalf and I’ll pay them back but no again, it’s not company policy, we don’t do this or help residents anymore. They have our money in there bank accounts, now don’t wanna know you at all. I advise if you buy from these, don’t do any reviews until at least over a year on and you are truelly happy! They push for good reviews, promise to help as long as they are still on site. All lies. 3/4 months at the beginning is all we got. Make sure they’ve done as much or repaired as much snags for you within this time frame. Or your on your own. Be warned!!!!

Abysmal service in the Millard…

Abysmal service in the Millard Grange/Coppice Hill sales office in Houghton RegisWalked in assuming they could see me(my shortcoming) but required booking.General rudeness already afoot, asked if they could wangle something, said I needed to book online, couldn't even help me there.Left the office, sat in the car looking at the booking form and it's a contact form. Not an actual booking. Someone from that very sales office would likely call me off the back of filling that form out! An actual joke!Also sat around for 10 mins, no one left or entered the office. People just can't be bothered to sell a house here.If they can't even fake a service, what does that say for the houses?

Post completion does not live up to the pre completion promises

We reserved our plot in January 2021 and we're due to complete in September. Before reservation when we were still looking and deciding which builder to choose Rhodri and Gavin in the sales office were so helpful and friendly. They answered the million questions we had and the information and viewpoints they shared with us really helped to cement Countryside as our choice. They were never, ever pushy and even now, when we've gone through our choices meeting we never felt pressured to spend more with them. They have a total understanding of how it is to buy a new home and are very attuned to the fact that everyone is different. I love that about them. The fittings which come as standard with Countryside such as the spotlights, bathroom storage, lawn and the windows in the roof of the family room are fantastic compared to the other builders we saw but also the service from the guys has been second to none. Rhodri and Gavin have shared their experience and insider knowledge with us and we feel it's really helped with our 'forever home' journey. And importantly, they've always been honest with us, when the answer to something has been 'no' they tell you, they don't beat around the bush which is very refreshing. We exchanged a couple of months ago and that went smoothly, we were never chased or harassed to move quicker even though our Legal Team did take a little longer than anticipated. So far, our experience with the company has definatly been 5 stars. We'll update more after completion !Well we've completed and have been in the house for 9 days ..... the finish inside the house was really disappointing, the garden is not to plan and has no drainage. We've been told contractors would be round to sort the drainage last week but we've seen nobody and then we've come home today to no heating downstairs. Their emergency line was really unhelpful and I'm starting to worry they we've made a big mistake.Again, I'll update this review as we go on.

We recently reserved our dream home at the Bella Wood View site. We arranged a visit with Stuart with the impression to gather more information as we also had a few other developers in mind. Within an hour of meeting Stuart, we were convinced this was the best move for us and reserved immediately. It was a no brainer when you compare everything that is included by Countryside Properties when compared to other developers. The customer service has so far been excellent and they have been very accommodating. No complaints and would certainly recommend. We cannot wait to move into our new home! Thanks for everything.

False promises and no transparency

False promises and no transparency. Avoid while you can. I wish I had never purchased my property in the Beampark development which is looked after by Countryside and L&Q. Edited on 13th December 21. We were left with no heating for 10 days when we first moved in and the patio door has a gap letting in all the cold wind in from outside for 3 months (especially during these cold winter days) . The extractor fan in the kitchen does not suction any cooking odours or excess humidity while cooking, instead it blows the steam under m cupboard (perfect for damp/ mould issues). There is no proper communication and were left to suffer. The customer assistance based on site have not been trained and they send you on a wild goose chase instead of being honest and explained they do not know the answer and will find out. This is meant to be a great experience for a firstime buyer buy instead you become a project manager for your own property without a salary.

Very happy and high standard

We are over the moon with our new house and the customer service we have received. The overall standard and quality of the build has been to a high standard. It is an excellent home that has a layout and thoughtful design features that are both beautiful & practical. We loved the amount of choice we got to personalise our home. This has been perfect for our first home together & we are so happy.The customer service and sales at the Abbotsfield estate was good, not pushy and helped us gain confidence at every step of the process. We waited to leave this review till we had the house signed off after completely our short snagging list. Again, we have bee really impressed by the support and help we have received. The few issues we had were merely cosmetic and were resolved in a timely manner to a high standard. The builders have been extremely considerate whilst in our home and also whilst still building the incomplete homes around us. They always say hello as we head off to work etc. It is little things like this that make us love our home / the development.Would recommend you to friends and family.

Not a good experience

Countryside properties knew we had a problem with our paperwork due to a solicitors error. They themselves also sent the wrong paperwork to our solicitors for a house on the wrong development.The very day that everything was sorted they pulled the property from us. £1000 deposit and solicitors fees wasted. The house also isn't built and is delayed till February at the earliest. The house is now £23000 more expensive. No point in getting in touch to speak to someone. Standard response where we will be to blame. Enjoy our £1000 and the extra £23000 ...profit comes first after all...

Countryside experience part 1

Absolutely disgusting business practise. Me and my partner went to view a home at Hall Park gateford and were so excited. We went through all options from part exchanging our house(which they offered over £25 000 under the houses worth) to the assisted move and decided this would be the best option as they recommended a liase company called house to home who would sort everything out for us and we wouldn't have to deal with any of the normal stress of selling and buying a house.We were told by their sales rep (alan) that we wouldn't be able to put a reservation on the new house until we had an offer on our current one, which is fair, however less than 2weeks from us originally speaking with countryside about purchasing the house they increased the price by £10,000. We were disheartened but still loved the house and were willing to go ahead with the purchase. After we had an offer and accepted on our current house we reserved the plot at Hall Park. Alan had been moved but there was a very friendly and helpful woman in his place named Sonia who went through everything we would need to do to the point where we could exchange contracts as the time scale was only 28 days. She advised that she was only on site to help and a woman named Karen would look after us and we would have progress reports every Monday to let us know how the build was going. Within two weeks my partner and I had made sure we completed everything countryside had asked for including paying extra for certain searches among other things. We had to phone Karen though as she did not keep us up to date with how the property was progressing or inform the liase company, house to home, of anything that was happening on site. We eventually were asked to come in and chose any extras we mite want to purchase and met their assistant site agent Mark. All extras had to be paid for on the day and we were assured by the sales rep Karen and the assistant site manager Mark that the property would be ready to move into somewhere in December 2021. They did not give us an exact date but assured us they would give us 11 days in writing to be ready which didn't sound like a long time but with the constant communication on the progression of the house, which we weren't receiving, this wouldn't be as daunting as having to move with less than two weeks notice. A couple more weeks went on, ourselves and house to home still receiving no communication from countryside, and our buyers solicitors were being very slow at sorting out things on their side. Everytime we called to discuss things with the sales rep, Karen, she never knew what was happening whether we were asking about progression on the build or how long before we could exchange contracts. Things were starting to get stressful as everything was ready with the paperwork on our side but our buyers solicitors were still being very slow with completing the last few things their end. We spoke to Karen and she informed us that countryside would threaten to pull the reservation from us, which we wouldn't be refunded for, as a 'scare tactic' to get our buyers solicitors to speed things up ,however before sending the email countryside didn't inform house to home or our solicitors, so when our buyers solicitors tried to send paperwork to be seen by ours they obviously thought we'd lost the house and refused to receive it.... nightmare. Countryside eventually let the relevant people know what they were doing and things started moving slowly again. We had to have a couple of extensions on exchanging contracts where they gave us an extra 2 days on one occassion, which was an unrealistic time scale to get correspondants from our buyers solicitor's, still countryside were growing inpatient with how long it was taking our buyers solicitor's(whom they recommended our buyer to use) to get us all to the point where we could exchange. Another e mail was sent again threatening to pull the plot but after speaking with house to home they managed to get through to the sales director Marianna who assured them, my partner and I that as we were so far along in the process she would not authorise the plot being pulled from us. Still waiting for our buyers solicitors to send last few items over and countryside sales progressor Emily had sent a couple of e mails again saying she was going to pull the reservation the week we were due to exchange. My partner and I aswell as house to home informed her of the reasurances we had from her director Mirianna that the house would not be pulled, but still she was very rude and explained that the deadline had passed and she was not willing to wait any longer.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Had a small leak under the sink. The leak was repaired the next day but after 10 weeks countryside are “contacting” the plumbing company APL to make the repairs.This leak occurred during the 2 year new build warranty but the making good remains unresolved. Despite countless emails and phone calls throughout the whole time frame I am still “waiting for their response”Is this any way to conduct business.Shameful treatment. I have had to contact NHBC and start proceedings to get the works completed.Have left 1 star as I can not leave a minus.

Profit before People

Disgusting experience of purchasing a new home at St Lawrence Fold. Take your reservation fee with a ridiculous 4 week timescale to exchange contracts, take money for extras then re-market the house you have reserved before a sales rep tells you the reservation period has expired. At this point you no longer exist to Countryside as they are not contactable and are unwilling to help you to find a solution. A visit to the Sales rep at the site is met with being ignored whilst he tries to sell the house you reserved to someone else and tells you to make a complaint if you are not happy. Countryside treat you as a number, not as a person or the values they promote. Avoid this company.
