I didn’t even really want to rate them 1 star... I won’t deny I love my home .. all down to how I have furnished and decorated it ... however I have now been updated in regards to the issues we have with the leasehold and the issues with the help2buy option. Our leases are 250 years if you haven’t purchased by then, your property will be taken off you so you are literally renting your house and will never own it?!?! Why am I paying a mortgage? Which in turn means the help2buy is a scam as if this property stays in my family after being my first investment for me and my soon to come child .. we will never own it anyway.... scammed into using their solicitor and using their mortgage advisor as they are all in it together. when it came to my mortgage renewal I attempted to move to my bank and was told they won’t touch my help2buy mortgage and I’m best staying where I am ????? Countryside are scammers who prey on first time buyers and this is disgusting... we are generally young adults trying to make our way in life and start a bright future for our families .... our leases have been sold and we can purchase but you are basically still bound to the same covenants ?! What good is that .???? What would we have paid for ???? AVOID AVOID AVOID No way I will be able to sell my property on comfortably in the future ...

Feel I was grossly misled when sold my new countryside property in regard to its lease. Just another company out to make more money and exploit first time buyers

Another company heavily involved in the…
Another company heavily involved in the profit making leasehold scandal, selling the leases to private companies within 2 years of living at the home despite sales staff lying at various stages. How did we fall for it? Well us and many others where pushed into using their own brokers and solicitors with incentives like, we'll waive the fee etc, those companies then didn't act responsibly and in our interests and left vital information out, like how they'll sell the lease on and that your ground rent will eventually be £4800 a year. I urge anyone thinking of buying to walk away, buy a true freehold house an older house. Even the new freehold plots they sell aren't really freehold when you need to pay for permission to do the slightest things and they'll have you paying for sewer maintenance and roadworks eventually. There's a reason the bosses of these companies are making footballer salaries and it's at the expense of the people who fall into their trap. We unfortunately are lining their pockets after falling into the trap of a home we can't sell.

Shambles of a company
Our perfect family home as first time buyers, totally ruined by being mid-sold a leasehold property that will cost us thousands more than its worth to buy back as they sold the lease on to greedy third party companies without us knowing. Also a tonne of stupid covenants along with it that we didn't know about when buying. Totally untrustworthy company and sales representatives.

Lied through their teeth to sell us a fleecehold
Not impressed at all - we were promised that we could buy our leasehold - but they sold it on without our knowledge - now we have an onerous doubling ground rent!

Disgrace
Disgraceful company. Residents were led to believe that they were buying a perfect family home. Only to find out that they couldn’t buy the freehold 2 years later and sold it on to a third party company. This will now cost thousands to buy back and Countryside don’t seem to care. Boycott this company and make sure you’re not buying fleecehold. #leaseholdscandal

I have bought a Countryside home and despite the initial sales being excellent I am now 9 months in and still waiting for the original snagging list to be completed. I have recently noticed a crack in my patio door frame (I was on my hands and knees at the time) and reported it to Countryside. The customer service team told me the door was fine when it went in and the property was checke twice by an experienced customer service manager. I have pointed out it was checked very well as there was a window frame cracked in 3 places that the didn’t see. However they have said if I am not happy go to NHBC basically washing their hands of me. Absolutely appalling after sales. If anyone has had window / frame problems please contact me to advise the outcome. Regards Scott

Racist...
Racist.... you decideI went to see a show home a few days ago. As soon as I walked in the man said "did you see that man over there, he brought the last 2 bed". A man sitting behind the desk then shouted "we were meant to call you this morning as we sold all the 2 beds this morning".I then said "well that's fine, I would also be interested in your 1 beds". The man pointed at the show home and said "it's over there". By this point, I had given them enough chances to prove me wrong and should have walked out. But I went to see the show home and when I came out, while I was standing they pointed at a piece of paper to show me the prices. A white couple then came in after me and were seated straight away. All the apartments are still up for sale!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
Extremely shoddy building of properties, multitude of snagging faults that aren’t resolved in a timely manner, no sense of honesty or customer service...the list goes on.Countryside are basically cowboy builders with the ability to pretend to be professionals.Never, ever, ever buy with them. They are keen to sell and the sales team will really push and make you feel supported and sell the dream but once they have your money they’re nowhere to be seen and the number of issues the properties have is horrific. Please do not consider buying from them, you will regret it. If you don’t believe what’s written here, speak to people already living in their properties. Brook Valley Gardens is so bad the residents were forced to create a WhatsApp group which shares issues to get them resolved as Countryside will ignore and avoid as much as they can.Save yourself the time and bother. Worst builders ever!

I would never buy a new build from countryside again, their after sales and snagging fixing is appalling, can't finish one house properly and move on, 8 weeks I have been here and only just been able to move in properly, sales are very keen to sell but never tell you the whole picture, dreadful experience, they know I hate the place and my advice do not buy a new build from countryside without getting a proffesional snagging expert in, better still just don't buy you will committ yourselves to misery

Poor build quality and terrible customer service
I expected a few snags when we bought a new build property from Countryside, but nearly a year after we moved we are still dealing with major build issues. There are simply too many to list here but the highlight to date has been forgetting to insulate the roof of our master bedroom and ensuite (basically half of our roof area), a problem also uncovered at several of our neighbours properties as well. For this huge oversight and negligence, not to mention the massive heating bills, Countryside offered us and our neighbours an unbelievably insulting £75 in compensation!Several radiators in our house turn on whenever we use our hot water and Countrysides contracted plumbers cannot get to the bottom of the problem, despite numerous attempts. We now feel that our only long term solution to this problem is to contract a trusted local plumber to carry out the works at our own expense. As several other reviewers have pointed out, Countrysides customer service department are utterly useless. It is not uncommon to wait for several weeks for a response to an email and you have to constantly chase them to get remedial work carried out. Everyone we know on our development has a similar horror story to tell so please think twice before buying a property from Countryside.

Shoddy
Badly, put together, house, most trades, are well below par, getting them, to put anything wright, is like trying to part the red sea, and has a another review, posted, the garden as been so badly, done, it has sunk, this has nothing to do with, cutting the grass, it's do with the preparation underneath. Sadly, I think most house, builders, are the same, Greed, take's over, and until the law changes, they will continue, produce, poorly build properties.

Amazing company/sales…
Amazing company/sales staff/contractors.We completed in September on our first property, and from the moment we met the sales team at Springhead park we didn't feel pushed and couldn't have asked for a better service. The houses come complete with flooring, turf, and all white goods!Snagging list was completed promptly to an impeccable standard. Could not recommend enough! We are so happy with the quality of our service and home!! Thank you countryside!

They just don't care. Awful company
Absolutely terrible company. I urge anyone thinking about buying a property from Countryside properties to think twice. We had a burst water pipe a few month after moving in and all flooring through-out the whole property had to be ripped up and re-fitted. Over 6 months later and we are still waiting on some of the damage from this flood to be fixed by Countryside. We have since had several other leaks. The plumbing is quite clearly so far below standard and yet Countryside don't seem in a rush to fix this. Worst customer service and aftercare team I've ever encountered. Spent many a day emailing them, chasing them, spending money ringing their 0845 customer service line because they never reply to emails. We still have things on our snagging list that haven't been fixed.Once again - if you're reading this and considering purchasing a Countryside Property - I would urge you to re-consider.Oh and did I mention - the flat we bought just over a year ago - was sold to us with what is now known as an onerous doubling ground rent...but that is a whole other story! Just watch out for them pressuring you into using a solicitor and mortgage broker from their approved list...don't make the same mistake we did...
