TrustpilotAbsolutely disgusted by the lack of…
Absolutely disgusted by the lack of care by Countryside. My apartment is unsafe and covered in flammable cladding that no longer meets regulations leaving us with no other choice but for us to personally pay out in to tens of thousands ourselves each. They wont accept any responsibility or offer any kind of help. They have no concern or empathy. Extremely unapologetic and leaving us to deal with this highly serious issue, wanting no part in making our homes safe.Meanwhile, they continue to portray themselves as modern-day philanthropists - posting stories about their social housing and community partnerships online... Then they aggressively delete comments or block customers who dare to criticise them.Outrageous and utterly unacceptable - Don't deal with them! If you have the chance to escape any potential dealings with them please take my recommendation and avoid them like the plague. I'm having anxiety, stress and health problems and nothing I can do about it.

TrustpilotQuality is shocking
I wish I'd have read these reviews before embarking on this purchase. We really like the design of the house and the development generally, and the customer service staff usually at least make an attempt to be helpful. However, the quality of the fixtures and fittings and the installation of them by, presumably contractors, are in the main terrible. All the small things like the ill fitting joinery, doors, lopsided sockets, sealant not applied correctly and was in large pools and missing in other places, protective stickers on window frames not removed before fitting etc are annoying but it's the condition of various fittings now, within a fortnight of the 2 year warranty expiring where a shower head has flown off the wall, the kitchen counters are coming away from the wall and the boiler still loses pressure every few weeks so I'm not overly confident about the plumbing, there is still clearly a leak somewhere even after the bathroom radiator was found to be leaking when it started to stain the kitchen ceiling. When we moved in skylights were leaking and found to have holes drilled on the frame, the sofits/fascias were not fitted with all the parts meaning there were huge gaps allowing birds to nest in there. The burglar alarm is pretty much useless, as the windows are not fixed in to the timber frame so in warm weather the expanding and cooling moves the frames so much it trips the alarm, when its windy the badly fitted doors rattle in the frames and also trip it. The appeal of a new build was the new fittings meaning minimum DIY or expense for a few years. The reality now, however, is that after 25 months it looks like I'll need to shell out for two new bathrooms and a kitchen, and god only knows how long the central heating system is going to last. In summary, the build quality is awful and given the choice I wouldn't go near this lot again.

We purchased our first property from countryside and I must say, although the process can appear to be quite fearsome, the entire team just ensured it was smooth sailing for us. There was not a single time where I couldn’t get through to them or my questions weren’t answered. They were always very efficient and effective. I could not have been happier with my decision to go with countryside. The property has been built and designed to a very high standard and the condition it was handed over to us was just fabulous. Every detail has been thought through with incredible precision. The team were, and continue to be very friendly, truly caring and professional. They really push themselves and strive to give their customers the ultimate service which does not end once you get your keys. I was amazed with the after care provided once we had completed. I am now a very happy homeowner and thank you to countryside for making this a truly unforgettable and great experience. Thank you Graham for your care, understanding and patience with me and my never ending questions, there wasn’t a single moment I felt even slightly uncomfortable. Thank you to the site team for being ever so helpful and approachable and dealing with our issues instantly.

TrustpilotDon't buy from Countryside properties
Don't buy from Countryside properties. They may have nice showrooms but the house you buy won't live up to that. When we had all our problems they actually tried to justify the issues by saying it's not the show house! The show house they can make nicely with no issues but not the property you buy! We have had well over 100 issues with our new home. This is no exaggeration. We couldn't move in for 15 months because of all the problems and even after then we keep finding problems. Examples are - no insulation, loose shower heads, damage to windows and doors, kitchen unit doors not installed properly, locks on doors and gates not installed properly, leaking gutter, holes in the fence, holes in the wall, the list goes on and on and on and on. They absolve themselves of all responsibility and yet still are able to get new contracts to build new houses. Don't go near them with a barge pole. Even if it looks like a dream house, find another as it'll turn into a nightmare as it has for us.

Bought an apartment in salford quays managed by countryside. Now cladding deemed unsafe by government rules and they do not want to pay or contribute to fix it. They want leaseholders to pay for cladding that the buildings installed themselves! Unacceptable.

I wouldn't trust this firm to build a sand castle let alone an actual property that you'd want to live in. Shoddy workmanship, poor quality materials and refuse to take accountability for any of their shortcomings.

A truly unethical company who does not put their customers first. They take no liability for their own actions and yet they make millions in net profit. I for one will never buy from Countryside again and am disgusted in their behavior. (NV Building, Salford Quays)

TrustpilotCountryside built our apartment…
Countryside built our apartment buildings in Salford and failed to comply with some basic fire safety issues like fire breaks on outside walls thus (following Grenfell) our 3 blocks do not meet standards and need remedial works to cladding. Countryside have refused to offer any kind of compensation to us and so each of us will have to pay thousands for this work. We are retired and we thought our apartment was our safe and secure last home. We are devastated that they have not offered a penny. Let's hope the government help them to see their responsibility to us

TrustpilotDo not buy from this evil company
Do not buy from this evil company. I have lived in the NV Buildings for eight years, not knowing that it was covered in flammable cladding. Now - only because of the terrible Grenfell tragedy - I know that Countryside let me live in an unsafe building that whole time.To make matters worse, they have been unapologetic and are forcing us, the leaseholders, to each pay thousands of pounds to put it right.Meanwhile, they continue to portray themselves as modern-day philanthropists - posting stories about their social housing and community partnerships online... Then they aggressively delete comments or block customers who dare to criticise them.Don't be fooled. This greedy corporation is happy to let people die in their own homes - or go bankrupt in the fight to put it right.Utter, utter lowlives.

TrustpilotCountryside
Countryside, the developer of our residential property (NV Buildings Salford) has said they are not liable for the replacement cladding and that the building was built to spec in 2004, even though the building does not meet Fire Regulations post Grenfell.Residents are living in unsafe conditions and this fact is least of Countryside agenda, they are more interested in making and taking money from innocent people. Why are us leaseholders footing the bill of an estimated £1.5 Milllion, why is the onus on us for 100% of the cost. The replacement cladding cost should be split in a third ratio, Government, Developer, Leaseholder - that would be fair!

TrustpilotNV Building
We invested in our apartment about 18months ago. Which has now become the worse decision we could have made! Unaware of the development not built to correct cladding/fire-safety specification we are now facing huge debts hanging over our heads to fix - a share of about £1.5million...Countryside have refused to take responsibility and are passing the buck, which of course is the easiest thing to do!We are in an unsafe building. It was unsafe 15 years ago when it was built and it’s unsafe now - why should we as leaseholders be responsible for mistakes far beyond our control?Think twice about buying a property from Countryside, I know we should have…

TrustpilotUnacceptable and dangerous build quality.
Unacceptable build quality.I have lived in a Countryside constructed property that is billed as a landmark development in the region and has won design awards: NV Buildings. We have no found out that we live in a building that has flammable cladding that must be replaced and Countryside have refused to take responsibility for this, leaving us with potential bills of tens of thousands of pounds for each of the 246 apartments. The fact that this is happening is a disgrace and a national scandal. They should not continue to be rewarded with further contracts to build apartments while they refuse to do the moral thing and make the buildings that they have built safe.

TrustpilotABSOLUTE COWBOYS
If I could give 0 stars I would! Countryside only care about their bank balance instead of the safety of their consumers! They have left 100s of people in dangerous buildings for months knowing they had not put the correct fire safety precautions into place when building their buildings! They did not follow building regulations at the time! They have no decided not to follow the example set by many other reputable construction companies and have instead left their leaseholders to pick up the pieces with absolutely no remorse!!!!Avoid at all cost! They will sell you the dream but leave you in hell!

We were sold a property that was supposed to be the highest technology with intranet, internet etc. Turns out we bought an apartment in a defective building, with bad quality ineffective building materials! The building is a fire risk and Countryside don’t give a damn. Very disreputable company, we feel very let down. Best advice...... never buy from them.

Countryside built the apartment i own using dangerous flammable cladding. Myself and my fellow neighbours (owners) are now having to raise £1.5 million pounds between us to fund the removal and replacement of this dangerous cladding. A host of other building contractors have stepped forward and paid for this work to be done themselves were has Countryside not.

TrustpilotCountryside have dealt badly with cladding issues
I've given a one star review in light of Countryside's decision not to pay for vital work to change the cladding on a building where I own a flat. Developers of many other buildings that need similar work done HAVE decided to cover the cost so it is extremely disappointing that Countryside won't. It is leaving some residents in debt. If Countryside cannot over the full cost I believe they should at least look at making a contribution.

TrustpilotWas lied to at the sales process!
Was told by the liar of a sales agent that my house was near enough freehold, just leasehold in name and that if I wanted to buy the leasehold then I could for a nominal amount. I've now found out that I won't be able to buy it from Countryside, as they have sold it to an investor without giving me the opportunity myself to buy the leasehold. Now that to me seems really unethical of them, as they are selling something that really should only be sold to me to someone else to make money on something they've already money from me on.I would never buy from this company ever again

TrustpilotCountryside Properties plc - their warm words belie the bleak reality
Countryside Properties plc will tell you that they care deeply, are committed to using only quality materials, their standards are exacting, their design and build is exceptional and the places they create will stand the test of time and provide enduring value. Their words are warm and fuzzy but I can tell you the reality is, in my experience, quite different. I bought an apartment from Countryside Properties in 2005 and the materials chosen to clad the building are deemed to be a fire risk and in fact experts are of the opinion that the building did not even comply with regulations at the time. As far as the value of our properties is concerned, mortgages are no longer available and the leaseholders are expected to find huge sums of money to correct the faults even though these are most clearly not of our making. More warm words from Countryside Properties - they promise to deliver their business "in an environmentally responsible, ethical, safe and sustainable manner." I urge Countryside Properties - please fulfil these promises and step in to help the hard working people who bought in good faith and trusted your warm words and high aspirations. It is not enough to say you care deeply - it is time to show it!

TrustpilotBeware - Mis-Sold!
Really like the design of my home, but the finish and construction left a little to be desired. Mis-sold by their sales agents who withheld vital information about the leasehold i.e. the fact the ground rent doubles every 15 years and there are addtitional charges and restrictions within the lease. I have had two sales on the property since fall through due to the lease and have had to take the property off the market.

TrustpilotDon’t buy from these
I live in a countryside built apartment block in Salford Quays up until recently used as the background on their web site. Due to the unfortunate Grenfell incident the buildings are deemed a fire risk based on the materials used In the render/cladding leaving us with an approx £1.5m bill. We spent money investigating and discovered the render does not appear to have been installed as per plan and under the manufacturers recommendations. We wrote to countryside to be given a standard letter saying all looks fine. Other construction companies such as Barrett are doing the right thing and helping leaseholders of Buildings in a similar situation. Don’t waste money with countryside buy from a more reputable construction company who’ll stick by you in the long term like Barrett.
