GoogleI was lucky enough to find a room with City Living LDN a week before the very first national lockdown in London, march2020. Then again we agreed on another lovely property in Chiswick form November 2020 till April 2021. GoogleCity Living has made the whole process from finding the right flat, to moving in-and-moving out flawless. While staying in the flat for over 2 years, the property manager was responsive and whenever needed maintenance the support team acted quickly. GoogleIt was our first time renting a flat in London, but we couldn’t have chosen better. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we had to end our tenancy, but we would definitely recommend City Living London and choose them again in the future. They’re flexible, professional and friendly. Exceptionally quick with responding and fixing any issues and the handyman Hadi is always ready to help. GoogleHorrible experience. They charged 300£ agent fee and did nothing. 1,The flat was over priced( a very small 25sqm room 1408pm bills not included). 2,Cleaning was horrible. When I moved in the flat was oily and sticky everywhere. The sofa was full of kitchen oil and you can feel the greasy surface was no longer soft anymore...There was a dirty mattress with a brown stain and the sewer was full of disgusting hair the first day I moved in. The plumber they hired poured all the dirty water on my own carpet while he was cleaning the sewer and he threatened me if I block the sewer again he would charge me 120£ (The first day I moved in!). And I had to throw my carpet away because of the smell . I took photos of the blocked sewer and sent to the one who introduced me the flat(Ms. Y) but no reply. Trust me, nobody cares about you once you paid. 3, No respect to tenant. The plumber would just rush into your room without warning and unlock your door in the early morning while you asleep. And this happened several times when I was staying there. Imagining open your eyes in the morning and a stranger with bunch of tools appears, must be a beautiful way to start your day. 4, They will swallow all your deposit one way or another. All I got from my 1500+ £ deposit was 70+£ Eg. When I moved out I even hired a professional cleaner to help me out. But still they charged me 300£ for this. Dear Wr L, Our systems show you rented a flat through us back in 2018 (and this was a fixed 6 months tenancy), and we are therefore surprised to receive a negative review from you 2 years later, although please see comments below on the points raised; 1. Some deposit deductions were made due to unpaid rent still remaining due when you left the flat & these all deposit deductions were confirmed in an email to you to which you replied and agreed to. 2. We can see you viewed few several flats with us alone before deciding to take the subject flat so we do not understand why you state the flat was “overpriced” when it was the one you chose to occupy from all the flats you viewed ? 3. All letting agents charged fees back in 2018 although since 1st June 2019 legislation required all letting agents to stop charging fees. 4. You reported blocked drains on the day you moved in and my colleagues at that time organised a plumber to attend and drains were unblocked in a timely manner. 5. Check-in reports are prepared by an independent inventory company and include photographs from check-in with comments and the flat was in good order when you took occupancy as recorded in this document. When you vacated, the property was not cleaned at all as recorded in your checkout report and you were charged £180 to clean the property to the similar standard as to when you moved in (not £300 as you state below) Please either remove this review or amend so it states the facts. GoogleMoney scalping company. Small room for such expensive price. Extra unnecessary expensive charge for small things like ‘locked outside’ for 70 pounds, Monthly electricity for 1 person is 90 pounds, etc. Responsive staff though, staffs are mostly competent. Just the price tag of anything from this estate company are RIDICULOUS.

Dear MC, Would you please contact our head office and advise which property you occupied so we can deal with your recent review comments in detail and respond appropriately, although please also note: You say within your recent on-line review “Small room for such expensive price” although we do not understand why you would make such a comment as of course all tenancy agreements are signed by tenants and agreed once each tenant has inspected and agreed to rent the property ? Therefore please advise why you have posted such a comment ? and if you did believe this is correct why you agreed to rent a flat if you thought it was an “expensive price” ? You say “Extra unnecessary expensive charge for small things like ‘locked outside’ for 70 pounds” although we do not agree £70.00 to send a person to the property “out of hours” where a tenant left the keys inside the flat is expensive. If you research this you will find £70.00 for an out of hours call out in London is in fact very reasonable. I would also confirm there is no charge during office hours for borrowing spare keys when keys are collected from our head office. You also say “Monthly electricity for 1 person is 90 pounds” although please note where this applies (i.e. where some smaller flats do not have their own electric meters) fixed electricity charges are never higher than £45pcm so it would not be possible for you to be paying £90pcm. I would also confirm all set utility charges, where applicable, are clearly detailed before tenants sign tenancy agreements and these set utility costs form part of the monthly payments and are fully disclosed and explained before tenancy agreements are signed. In light of this please advise why you have posted this comment on-line ? Regards

GoogleCity Living London failed to provide a a return of a deposit upon cancellation. The rental was cancelled three months in advance due to Covid-19, but they would not refund the deposit, contrary to the stated policy. This is not a host you want to work with, avoid them.NegativeProfessionalism

Did you pay the deposit to sign long term tenancy agreement or was it for a holiday let? GoogleI had this vacation to London booked from 2019 - obviously not knowing of the world wide pandemic that would hit. I booked with them via AirBnb. After trying to hold off if we'd be able to make the trip, ultimately, we can't due to financial impact and health concerns. Also, and this is the major reason, London has imposed a 14 day quarantine for anyone who is entering the country. City Living is not willing to work with you AT ALL during world wide pandemic. I tried to explain that since London has major restrictions in place it would be impossible for someone going on vacation to go to London, quarantine for the mandated 14 days, and then enjoy a vacation. They basically told me they didn't care at all and I should contact AirBnb. If AirBnb won't help - City Living stated too bad they have a strict cancellation policy and they WILL NOT REFUND. They offered to postpone my reservation within 12 months - 1. I lost my job so that can't happen and 2. I'd rather lose the money than stay with a disgusting company who isn't willing to work with guests during this pandemic. I am not someone who posts bad reviews but I'm genuinely shocked they will not work with people when going to London is not possible! I hope no one else is going through this.
