Do not rent from this agent as you will struggle to get your deposit money back. After a happy rental period as a tenant I left a property over a month ago with no dispute with the landlord and on very good terms. I have been e-mailing ever since to have my tenancy deposit scheme returned to no avail. There is no dispute with the landlord so it seems to me Church and Hawes are retaining my deposit purely to accrue interest. Very poor customer service. I would absolutely. NOT recommend a rental with this ageng.

After the passing of our mother we invited Church and Hawes to value her home , Kevin arrived and was sensitive and professional from the off,we subsequently invited them to sell the house on our behalf. Kevin and the team navigated the progress with ease and stability , guiding where necessary and looking at all possible options with an excellent end result ,selling to a gentleman who would take our family home forward for the next generation to enjoy . Can't possibly recommend these guys, trying to get the uninterested Daniel to return a call is a nightmare. Chased him to view several properties when should be the other way round, comparing that to the chasing i received from Holden i know which agents i'd rather advertise with !

We have sold our current property through Church and Hawes at Maldon who have been brilliant. Daniel initially came round for a chat about our needs, he had a very good knowledge of the local area and what comparable properties were selling for and we agreed on a fair price. He then came back and took photographs and we all decided which ones showed our house in the best light. He had some potential buyers in mind and the house went onto Rightmove on Thursday, we had several viewers booked in for that weekend and we accepted an offer on Monday! All through the selling process Daniel and the Church and Hawes staff have provided an outstanding service, always getting back to us when we had queries and keeping in touch with the other parties and solicitors in the chain to keep things moving. We would not hesitate to recommend Church and Hawes to our friends and family and would certainly use them again! Nothing beats having a local person to guide you through the house selling and buying process - well worth the commission!

Avoid these guys they are reactive rather than pro-active and do absolutely nothing for their money. Had the displeasure of trying to buy a house with Daniel as the agent, he gave no updates, made no chasing for the chain and often had no idea what was going on in the chain. Go to an agent that will look out for your best interests not someone that might aswell be a budget online agent

Church & Hawes have been amazing during our house sale. Incredibly supportive and professional at all times. Daniel and Jacob in particular were always on hand to take my calls and find out information for me. Our chain (5 properties) was not that straight forward and we had a few wobbly moments however, Daniel was always on top of matters and took it upon himself to speak to all in the chain in order to keep the sale moving. The whole team there were professional from start to finish. I am not convinced the chain would have completed in the end if Daniel hadn't pushed as hard as he did for us, going over and above the requirements of his job. I really can't fault them at all. Church & Hawes were excellent in supporting in both the purchase of my first house, and its sale two years later. Purchase: Lucy and Andrew helped to find a variety of houses within our price range. Lucy gave us a tour of two different properties, referred us to a third and assisted with putting in an offer. Throughout the deposit, exchange, and completion process, everyone was more than happy to look into any concerns I had, and to answer any questions (first time buyer). Sale: Daniel helped to advise on a sale price for our property, as well as taking a variety of photos and writing a detailed enough description for the advert. The Maldon team were also quick to advertise the property; we had viewings within three days of putting our house on the market. Daniel was excellent in liaising with our buyers, and offering advice and support in dealing with solicitors, including with our purchase onward. Considering the low cost and high quality service I received from the Maldon branch of Church & Hawes, I would opt to use them again.
