I have used Bidwells since 2008 and the service has been good and efficient. They may charge a rather high management fee (12.5%) but as a foreign investor, I have been happy for I can always depend on their professionalism and not worry about any maintenance or rental problems.

Because it is my line work I did all the professional photography, the floor plans, the virtual tour (and hosted it on my professional servers), advert text (because their draft was rubbish), and showed all the viewers around. For all this Bidwells very begrudgingly, and not without chasing them several times, paid £100 into my bank account without even informing me. (They claim theis is what they normally pay for that work and could produce proof, which, of course, they never did…) And what did they do for their £11,400 fee for “selling” the property (which was paid immediately on completion date, no chasing required)? Someone visited my property once to make a valuation, an ad with my photos and text was put on their website and one or two main property websites. And they took and made a few telephone calls from/to potential buyers and liaised with me for me to do the viewings. I would have spent far more time and skill than they did… I’m in the wrong business, because this estate agent, with their very plush new offices, gets paid (not earns) extortionate amounts of money for doing virtually nothing…

I'm a buy to let landlord and have bought and sold a lot of properties over the past 30 years. I can honestly say that Ollie Rivers of the Bidwells Cambridge office is the best agent I've ever dealt with, anywhere, including London.I chose Bidwells because of their excellent local reputation, the fact they weren't a franchise or branch of a national firm and because we were impressed with Ollie when he pitched to list the property (one of 5 estate agents).Bidwells produced lovely photos, a professional listing, and we received two good offers in after the first set of viewings, and within a week of listing.Flats can be tricky to sell, but the sale took under 2 months - it was listed on 2 March and completed today, 26 April, which is extraordinarily quick. This didn't happen by accident. And although I have a great solicitor, I know that a lot of this was due to the excellent service of Ollie and the rest of the team. I had been a little worried that my flat might be the wrong end of the market for Bidwells, who normally sell large houses, but I needn't have worried. I got the same five star service as is given to sellers of larger properties.I was truly impressed and would recommend him without hesitation.

Bidwells manage our BTLs and I recently instructed them to manage the sale of one those properties. All in all it was a very successful exercise and the whole process was well managed. We got the price we were hoping for and it sold pretty quickly, especially considering it was a challenging and historic house and there were tenants still occupying it during the viewings. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ollie at Bidwells Cambridge for managing the sale so efficiently and keeping the tenants and ourselves regularly informed of developments.
