GoogleBeen waiting for now 12 days to get my shower fixed for my 58 year old mother with multiple sclerosis and to be told no by the housing officer because their to lazy to do their jobs and fix a simple shower and I'll be leaving a review everyday until something has been done, I have also contacted the local mp regarding the situation and still the housing officer refuses to do his job, terrible the way they treat the disabled absolutely disgusting

GoogleDisgraceful landlord. 3 years of Anti social complaints, 2 Assaults 2nd serious. THEY still will NOT move those responsible but instead prefer if I move. They do NOT deal with Complaints serious, they send "Warmings". What does it take before they actually sit up & Pay attention ? Certainly do NOT look after tenants , any thing that needs work done they clearly ignore !
Update
November 2022
After moving this bunch of monkey's from Charles St have rehomed those Responsible for assaulting me close to my new address!!
On contacting J.Pettigrew senior manager he was beyond helpful. I was advised to call police/ request to be rehomed!!
This lot DO NOT take assaults/ tenant well being in to consideration
Pettigrew as senior management should have stopped those being moved close to me. He should be fired immediately! I am utterly angry with Charles Street how HO / management treat customers.
Sooner newspaper's look into this lot the better!!!

GoogleIn my first property, I had the rood leak and break my laptop, I had bedbugs, and I had black mould.
Eventually after a year of arguing, they agreed to move me to a new property. I was left homeless for four months before they agreed to house me temporarily for two weeks.
I was shown a property above a youth hostel with a smashed window, and turned it down due to clear signs of antisocial behavior.
I was shown another property with high ceilings, large gaps in the floor boards, found a rusty razorblade on the floor, nails protruding from the floorboards... I was told if I didn't accept this property I wouldn't be shown another one.
After 9 months, they failed to connect the drainage pipe for the washing machine, or help in any regard with the "Battery fail" in the gas meter.
I've had four housing officers, three since moving into my new property.
I am a vulnerable person and the state I've been left in is despicable. I've lost property, money, friends, family, mental health, physical health, and autonomy.
I can't eat because I can't do dishes. I can't go out because I can't wash my clothes. I can't go for a job interview because I smell. I have become a prisoner in my own property.
Dunedin Can'tless and Whedon't Care Group literally profit off of the mistreatment of the homeless, vulnerable, and mentally unwell. They go home at night and put food on the table, heat their homes, and sleep soundly with the money I desperately need to try to fix my own issues.
All I can say is f*** all of you disgusting, abusive, fake-nice, criminal scumbags. I was healthier when I was homeless. You have repeatedly broken the part of the contract that says you will conduct repairs to an acceptable standard in an acceptable time frame. You do not provide ongoing support for people to stand on their own two feet. You are liars and thieves.

TrustpilotMoney grabber, bad service as always
I sent two emails to lowther 5 weeks ago, and no answer via email or letter with the required below information.1. Asking breakdown price of a roof job in G12. Asked breakdown prices of past jobs done without sending any quotes or approvals before going ahead with the works. G13. The cleaning it's always below average. Windows and doors are very dirty. G1

TrustpilotWould be 0 stars if possible
Would be 0 stars if possible. We need a new roof and seem to be getting no where, been advised they have no time scales and it will be in due course. I’ve called, not once been called back. I’be complained to be advised it’s not upheld, once I sent a section of the code of conduct they must follow showing that my complaint would be upheld I was ignored. I’ve now sought legal advice, but wanted to let anybody it may help know that a Property Factors Code of conduct can be found on the.gov website to let people know where they stand legally with this awful company and how to go about switching

GoogleI was stuck in a house with broken windows, missing skirting, missing floorboard, missing plaster on walls, insecure door, no heating and the previous tennant Rosslyn Carmichael ripped the gas pipes out and their employees made threatening phone calls . I asked my housing officer Andrew Wilson to install gas pipes and he is not allowed to talk about it. Who in the Wheatley group is running things as all they do is profit from misery.

GoogleCowboys would be considered more suitable for a job than the people currently running this place. Taken 3 months to arrange a gutter clean (which they should arrange annually as maintenance instead of waiting for it all to get clogged up).
Still no further forward. Water ingress into the property causing internal damage because of their repeated delays and no one taking responsibility or doing their job.

TrustpilotAwful Lousy Homes not Lowther Homes -
What an absolutely awful organisation. The staff are incredibly rude. No empathy, no flexibility and will hang up the call when you try to get them to commit to something. They are so incompetent when it comes to dealing with your issues. They are doing the factoring for my block of flats. I shall be making a formal complaint to Edinburgh City Council.

TrustpilotAtrocious factors
This is the most atrocious experience with a service company I've had in the UK, period. They are unable to fix a buzzer for half a year, never call you back when then tell you that they will, took 2 months to process a representation mandate and continue to tell us that "well the buzzer will be updated with the scheduled maintanence" and yet it's been over 6 months with about 30% of flats impacted. Stay far away.

TrustpilotFor gutter repairs
For gutter repairs, They had charged £800+ altogether from 4 flats after n no. of times follow up and we pay insurance quarterly, and it's around £400+ annually. of course, They don't provide any clean-up services. The insurance is of no use and for each and every repair we have to pay again. Of course, they did the work for the huge money paid in a few months' time and it wasn't bad and has not reoccurred for a year so far. So, I feel it's not a bad choice as after long research, I found that Almost all the other factoring managements are utter rubbish just to grab money for nothing and the issues were reoccurring and our governments are simply ignoring them by not taking action against such looters. Not sure when these things are realized and save taxpayers from these cunning looters.

GooglePoor quality of work and extremely unresponsive. They over-inflate the expenses, make money over the repair costs and then charge the owners. I wonder how Glasgow City Council still hasn’t caught up their poor practices..

TrustpilotWell I’m sure there is no need to write…
Well I’m sure there is no need to write a review seen as there’s very little positives on here. Rented a brand new flat of the company and well what an experience I’ve had. No bathroom for 3 and a half months. No help or support in the end had to move out the property and was promised a refund of rent that I had paid when the property was unfit for purpose. Had Anita from the head of complaints on the phone in which had arranged for the refund to take place but as usual lowtherhomes don’t know how to action refunds. Waited around 2 months to receive a partial refund for overpaid rent and still fighting to be refunded for the months they assured me I wouldn’t have to pay as they can’t fix. If your looking for security look no further! With a repair process that you only have to go to the moon and back to have done and if you experience any issues well don’t worry they will end your tenancy the same day to stop them having any backlash. P.s if the company offers a refund it’s probably lies and they’ll just pass the blame about employees.

TrustpilotPoor at best
Advert on rightmove had information gaps (contact details, closing date) and an error in the deposit amount. Tried to phone to get clarification when filling out their detailed application form and nobody could give me an answer on the missing info/errors found in the advert (letting agents and customer service unable to communicate with one another) . I sent in the application form anyway , which is required to be filled out prior to you viewing the property, unsure if this had any errors . This form contained a lot of sensitive information (bank statement, wage slips , ID photos) , and when it got sent to lowthers , there was no email to say that it has been received or whether it is just floating in the ether . Phoned multiple times to see if this had reached them and whether it was being considered and trying to clarify when the application closing date is / was, again , nobody could tell me. Told multiple times I would be called back by an agent regarding all the above and nothing has reached me . Now sat at a loss. I am confused how applying for a flat can be this cryptic.

GoogleThey do not take customer service seriously. They don't respond back for months when you ask a query and only respond on the questions that are easy for them to answer. However, they charge some of the most pricey fees for a management company. They offer an awful service.

TrustpilotThis company tried to price-gouge the rent price
This company tried to price-gouge the rent less than 24 hours before my scheduled move-in date. They advertise properties at a price "average," but they fail to mention they have multiple properties at various price points, and that this price is an average. Paired with the fact that I was actively deceived upon the rental price of the property I applied for by the agent who took my in-person viewing, there was at best gross incompetence at play, at worst deliberate malfeasance with Lowther. This situation has caused a huge amount of personal and professional disruption, especially since they raised the rental price less than 24 hours prior to my scheduled move-in date, when a person is at a vulnerable stage being materially, physically, and financially prepared for a move.

If I could minus star this company I would. Been in dispute with them over a repair bill for a repair reported in February 2020. Despite constant phone calls, emails , tweets and Facebook messages I’ve yet to speak directly to someone regarding my dispute. I have however had lots of contact with their debt recovery team. Today I’ve caved in and paid the bill as I got another letter threatening court action. The factoring is appalling and so are their charges would definitely avoid if you can

TrustpilotAbsolutely disgusted with this factor
Absolutely disgusted with this factor. I applied for accommodation and was advised of the criteria which had to be met. I met this criteria with my income however I was refused accommodation based on the fact that I am currently living with relatives and had no proof that I could pay rent. I was not given the opportunity to discuss my situation in person which is unfair. I spoke to the letting agent who was rude and not interested in my appeal. And because I asked for a name of someone to make a formal complete the agent told me I would not be getting any property with them. I am raising a formal complaint to the Wheatley group and am speaking to my local councillor.
