We bought the plot when only the foundations were laid and from that point on, everyone who we interacted with from Barratt’s have been friendly, professional, and very helpful. Rebecca from sales has been amazing throughout our journey and Ryan is an exceptional site manager along with his deputy Alex. We would highly recommend buying from Barratt’s, we viewed several developments and kept returning back to this one site as the spec of house was to a higher level than all the rest.

Happy first-time home buyer, so far - BH Bourne

I am a first-time buyer, so I do not have a comparative opinion about the experience. I would rank them good as long as I don't face disappointment. My house was already in a ready-to-move condition with the furnishings fitted already. So, I cannot comment on how the customisation part worked.Building: The house is built to a good standard. I visited the property a few times before completion and we noticed refinements and touch-up works every time. It has been a few months since we started living in the house. We noticed some snags which were promptly attended to. I like the builders' choice for most components (door handle, shower, sockets, kitchen faucet, door hinges, white goods). I see the same designs used in some of my friends' homes built by different companies! I don't like the taps with squared edges used on the washbasins. They look nice but are tricky to wipe clean, especially in a very hard water area. Limescale resistant fittings would have been great for this area, if there is even such types! I got a garden that was professionally landscaped already with a good choice of garden plants. However, the turfed area is a bit bumpy and not very levelled. No water logging or puddles in the garden, so no complaints here. But who knows what’s it like under the turf!? :-)At the outset, it looks like a well-built house.People: I very much appreciate the professionalism that the people-facing staff showed right from the day we paid the reservation deposit. I appreciate the expeditious response to email queries by Fiona and Louis during the buying process. Natural, as they are sellers. However, this diligent customer care continued after completion and when writing about snags. This shows their professionalism and commitment to customer care. Our site manager Rokas kept in touch with us periodically to ensure things were okay. He mobilised the carpenters, painters and other tradesmen to attend to the issues. They were also friendly as they shared insights about the problem and values ideas to take care of. Rokas often did their best to resolve an issue, but sometimes explained what could be and cannot be done, which often sounded reasonable.This review is based on a limited experience of just three months. I hope the team would continue their great service throughout the warranty period.

The team at Amberswood Rise Ince have been exceptional! From day one, it was clearly explained the types of homes available and the plot/ outline of the plans.James and Katie supported me through the process from choosing the home and interior to the final product. I was updated throughout the whole build, from plan to base, right through to the final completion. Every week I had images sent to update me.I had some little ups and downs along the way but James and Katie were on hand to help in every way they could. Thank you so much! Since moving in, the site manager James has been fabulous! I don’t plan on moving- but if I did.. I would look at Barratts homes!

5 star experience

We had a great experience with our home purchase in Wichel Fields at Wichelstowe. Had bought houses from other companies previously however this was the best experience so far . The Sales Team is fantastic, especially Luke who was our main contact. He is very professional with a great sense of humour and extremely customer focused, thank you again to him! The house itself had only few snagging issues however the after sales team is looking after us very well. Months after living in our flat we can…

Months after living in our flat we can notice more and more the poor build quality, the exhausting process of getting snags done and overall VERY HIGH PRICE for low quality and very little space you get in the flat. It’s like living inside your neighbours house because the walls are that thin. Walls aren’t straight. Snags that were done to a subpar finish. Unsure why there are good reviews, i’d reccommend everyone to get a professional snagger involved. Landscaping around the flats is poor. These flats cost a lot of money, aren’t even worth half. Merchant Quay is the poorest build i’ve been in, unsure how the council allowed this to happen and how mediocre flats were sold for this much money?! Absolute joke.

We are really pleased with our new…

We are really pleased with our new Radleigh home at Clipstone Park, Leighton Buzzard. We've been in a week now and settling in well. The sales team especially Wendy has been very helpful and responsive and answered any questions we had and if she didn't know would seek the teams advice and come back to us in a timely manner.There are a few snags which we have been communicating with the site team. A few annoyances we have come across, the driveway wasn't hosed down, the garage was full of builders dust, the grass was not mowed and there is no window in the ensuite which means the room smells of damp even with the extractor fan is running. Additional cupboards would be useful in the kitchen.The house seems to be built to a good standard and the fixtures and fittings look good.

Process was easy and quick, house finished to a high standard. Good having a mortgage advisor free of charge to sort mortgage and recommendation to a solicitor that deal with barratt direct.Nathan at Parc fferm wen, St.Athan been absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Even after we moved in Nathan called to see of we had settled in ok and any questions just to give him a call.The site Manager Anthony Thomas, well what can I say nothing is too much trouble, really helpful and nice guy, any issues and he is happy to rectify. Absolutely amazing company!

I can comfortably rate Barret 5* as Anthony Thomas has been absolutely fantastic, he is friendly and approachable and has put every worry we have had to rest, he never shys away from questions and goes above and beyond every time to ensure any issues are settled quickly. We have had a wonderful time in our new build home and can confidently say that Anthony has played a huge part in making sure that we have settled well and feel welcomed to the neighbourhood.I must also give credit to Nathan in the customer service building as he made our purchase of the property go smoothly and ensured that we were supported whenever we needed, he was always a quick phonecall away and was extremely helpful by making sure that we knew exactly what stage of the build our home was in and being more than happy to help us with whatever we needed.I can't thank the whole team enough. A very positive experience

From the moment we walked into the sales office, Louise was fantastic. She answered all our questions and queries. Once we reserved that didn't stop Louise kept us informed every step of the way and was extremely accommodating when we wanted to visit the property for measurements etc. When moving day came, it could have gone a little smoother Barrett's solicitors were very slow at releasing the keys even though funds had been transferred hours earlier I was disappointed by this. But once again Louise and Elaine were brilliant, we were looked after in the sales office whilst they both made multiple calls to people to get our keys released. These ladies are a credit to the Barrett's Sales team. I would just like to add that my husband and I are both very happy with our new home.

Our family has recently purchased a new build house in St. Clements View, Wallyford. The Barratt team has been exceptional, proactive, and incredibly helpful. The house was finished in high standard, which is agreed by our snagging surveyor. We have excellent experience all the way from viewing to actual living in our own house. Sales Team: We met Adriano when we first visited St. Clements View for viewing. He patiently listened to us and tried to understand our needs through our conversation. This gave us an unexpectedly pleasant viewing experience that we ever had. And then Nina followed up our purchase. From team call to handing us the keys, Nina provided excellent support. We have already got a solicitor company contacted but then didn’t receive any response. Nina assisted us to get in touch with the branch manager of the solicitor company and the whole procedure went smooth and fast afterwards. Site team, especially our site manager Shaun, couldn’t have done more for us. Shaun is not only nice and helpful but also goes above and beyond to assist. He patiently addressed all our queries and followed up all the defects, including those we didn’t notice. When we have problem raised, Shaun appeared and responded swiftly. Overall happy and satisfied for smooth completion

Overall experience is very satisfactory even though there are some small glitches. sales adviser Nicola was outstanding throughout the journey. Site manager Adrian is very helpful and responds very quickly on any queries raised.Some Could have been better and examples are as follows1. Garden panel already broken before I officially moved in and looksLike more will break in coming days as some of the panels fixing not that great (small and limited screws were used and detaching easily).2. Garden surface could have been levelled properly and it’s uneven and will cost us more to level the surface for landscaping.3. Bathrooms - No sockets in some bathrooms and in some bathroom shaver switch was placed very close to door. Hard to use them for led mirror lighting.

Don't buy a new build off Barratts. I could go into it all but your best bet is just to stay away. It states Jane from Customer Care Team has been in touch, she has not! It is all lies, please do not buy from them. There is a what's app group for the Chilmington site and it is horrendous with the amount of people unhappy, not being listened to about their properties they have saved many years for a deposit for.

Worst experience ever as a customer. Barratts under investigation.

Buying a Barratts home was single handedly the worst and most regrettable mistake ever made.From day one it went from bad to worse, the house was not ready to move into and Barratts could not own up to this, it was down to me to tell them of the obvious unfinished state of the house, no real apology and no real compensation for the stress and frustration imposed on me and my family because of the negligence of this developer and the manager for the south west (Cornwall)The process of trying to get what was advertised to me as a “5 star home” was agonising to say the least! I was sold an unfinished and pathetically put together “house” which genuinely made me feel like I had been scammed, and that feeling lasts to this day.. The list of problems we had are endless, and the issue is that the problems were never put right properly or professionally and every problem “fixed” is never as good as if it were done properly in the first place, and this is what gets me the most among the total embarrassment of the team that I had the misfortune of having to deal with. The staff turnover at Barratts is like musical chairs, every few weeks I was dealing with a different person due to staff leaving and then there’s no proper handover or continuity which breaks down communication and trust levels.I warn and urge everyone not to buy from this developer if you expect high quality and reliability. Now the latest news about Barratts being involved with illegal price fixing they’re under investigation by the government and trading standards - I would not be surprised if they broke the law because they certainly did with my house in the way they sold it to me.Utter rubbish of a company, stay away as far as possible.

This is the first time we have bought a property in Scotland and the first time we have ever bought a new build. The service from Barratt has been fantastic from start to finish. They have responded within 24 hours to every email or message. They have responded quickly to all our questions and resolved problems if there have been any. The only thing we think they could do better is make people fully aware if they have to provide their own flooring. they have recommended Solicitors and tradesmen we have used which has been very helpful. Just wish we were moving in and not renting it out.

Go for a Barratt Home

The company certainly know who to employ as regards on site sales staff. I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to move from my home of 33yrs (my husband did!). Cheri and Stefan at Buxton site are amazing. Cheri pointed us to a house which wasn't really on our "what we are looking for list" It was off plan with a showhome quite a way off. Thank God that through Cheri's enthusiasm, we went to see it. Brilliant experience

We moved into our new home last Friday and we absolutely love it. There are snagging issues as to be expected. Great experience and service from start to finish.The sales team we dealt with at Bourne, Lincolnshire - Louise & Fiona - were fabulous. Kept us updated throughout the sale process and were on hand on moving day. I know they're still on site in the sales office, but they have taken the time to stay in touch & make sure all is still well. You're made to feel very welcome to drop in. Whether to say hello or to raise a problem.On move in day, we had an introductory tour by Louise & the on site customer care team. All snags were noted and followed up quickly.Rokas is our Site contact and he has been amazing. He has swiftly arranged trades to attend and resolve any issues we've had. Following their attendance he has either called round or phoned to ensure we're happy with the work. At no time has anyone queried or quibbled with any of our issues, just resolved them in a very timely, professional manner.Although we've had snags - to be expected - they have been quite minor & we have been very impressed with the excellent standard of the finish.I would highly recommend Barratts as a house builder, in particular the site we have moved to.

Honestly don’t know where to start

Honestly don’t know where to start, from ruining the experience upon handover riddled with mistakes let alone hundreds of snags which were more cowboy errors. Even now we have been left with a garden which has no growth, flooding and filled with building materials.I raised a complaint on 23rd May and had someone visit to tell me that the garden being a bog even though it’s near June is normal, and to quote “if we installed drainage then the price would go up” is not something you’d expect a 5 star builder to say. Even though multiple neighbours have experienced the same issue with some paying thousands from their own pocket to correct, Barratt insists that its poor maintenance and even referred to upkeeping like a golf course is needed for a good garden.

I honestly cannot fault Barratt at all. We have had the most exceptional experience with them from the first day we viewed their show homes. Adam was our sales advisor and he kept us in the loop the whole way through the buying process. Our home is absolutely beautiful with an oustanding finish and the few things we noticed on our snagging list were corrected quickly and will extremely little disruption to ourselves. I would never buy a new house elsewhere.

I would just like to thank Louise Willis at the Ceres Rise development in Swaffham. I dealt with Louise when I first enquired about the properties and she was excellent in communicating and arranging an appointment. Upon visiting the development, Louise was so helpful and gave very detailed explanations for all my questions. She was very knowledgeable and made the visit so easy. I decided to go back for a second visit with a friend and again, Louise was so accommodating.Upon further investigation, I did decided that Swaffham wasn't the right area for me to live in, which was a shame as I loved the Ceres Rise development.Again, I would like to thank Louise for the help and guidance she gave me regarding the properties.

When I first enquired they said the Apartment came with an underground parking space. after I signed up it wasn't an underground space it was an open garage that anyone can park in. so every time I try and park someone's in my space. the Apartment has a lot of faults, the front door has imperfections in the paint like something was learned on it before it dried. #2 there's a large gap on the front door so a draught comes in from the bottom. #3 the fitted wardrobe the panel wood where the door closes to has been painted to a low standard. #4 one of the kitchen cupboard door is scratching one of the other doors when u open and close. there's a gap in the skirting board in living room that u could put a pound coin in. #5 you don't even get light shade both the bedroom and entrance hall there's a wire hanging down with a light bulb. I've had various different sales Advisor and I think the sales Advisor at Westburn Gardens development at Berryden seems a little clueless and needs to be properly trained up in customer relations. She took two days to reply to a message. Extremely disappointed with the way I've been treated and would avoid this company. I would definitely recommend Cala homes as Barratt is not the 5 star builder they say they are👎
