Amazing Experience

Linley and Simpson are a brilliant agency. Helpful every step of the way and keeping myself and my missus updated. We had a house viewing, it went smoothly the agent showing us around was very friendly, informative and just went with the flow. We decided to rent a property from them and the whole process has been brilliant.

The price agreed was excellent and well in excess of what we'd been expecting. The sale did take longer than it should have, although that was down to delays in communication between the solicitors. The agents could have been a little better at keeping us up-to-date with what was going on, because it felt at times as if the process had stalled. I wouldn't recommend using the solicitors that they suggest - I found them slow and disorganised. However, the agents themselves did a good job of finding a buyer quickly and at a good price.

I am a Tenant and been renting a house with them for years now, their property management/maintenance is poor, they would keep you waiting for a long time for repairs - and if you report to their complaint department - they would not acknowledge the concern and would reason out for the failure on managing the issue, so in truth, their complaint department isn’t really to help but to make you feel helpless and just accept things. They also favor the Landlord at all times - keep you waiting, do poor maintenance on the property as per Lanlords advise, the property managers don’t ensure that maintenance carried out are according to good standard - once the Landlord fixed a rotten/mouldy issue on the countertop by the Landlord asking someone to sand the wood and apply oil - and this was allowed by the property management and I am forced to just accept it, tho I know it was ridiculous and would make things worse, until issue actually got worse and they had no choice but to replace it. The only reason I remain here is because I am used to this place now but should I have known this is how poor the management is, I would have looked at better agencies at the beginning. I have been having issues with heating, and the engineer advised they need to change the thermostat as it is faulty, and from Oct 18 it is now Nov 12 and still had to call to remind them, this is the only company that would make you wait to get heating issues fixed for that long. It might be a good company for Landlords, but definitely not for Tenants.

Deeply disappointed with the handling of the sale of my property. 4 months after accepting the buyer's offer my solicitor had not heard from the buyer's solicitor. You may think that this has nothing to do with Linley and Simpson except that it was them that recommended the buyer to use their preferred solicitor. This solicitor turned out to be particularly useless. So after 4 months of pressing and demanding progress I gave an ultimatum for Linley and Simpson to get some action out of their recommended solicitor or I would have to withdraw from the sale. They failed to do this, so I have just wasted 4 months thanks to Linley and Simpson. Please do not use them for purchasing or selling properties.

Bad experience here. rude unhelpful staff, house not even checked over or remotely clean when moved in, doctored inaccurate inventory pictures from at least 3 years ago - showing things like light fittings but they were actually missing entirely - easy repairs like that completely missed, no electrical safety check on the house either, exposed wiring left. staff here do not care to help you either and you can tell by the way you are spoken to, it is really bad compared to my other rental property experiences! After leaving us technically homeless because they forgot to do an electrical test, they just left any more of our phone calls to ring out. I tried another number and was answered immediately - we were even paying to rent the property at this point, but were not allowed to move in and our calls were ignored like this. Be careful of the 5 star reviews, unless by chance only we had this experience, I think they will treat a lot of customers like this.

I have just completed on the sale of my property with Coalters. I wouldn’t say the process wasn’t without stress but that’s to be expected , but Coalters, more specifically Tom, guided me through the trauma with constant support. Calls were always returned, my anxiety’s were always listened to and where possible were dealt with immediately . My property went on the market and was sold to the first viewer within a fortnight which was fab. Jemma who came out to do the valuation was our first contact with Coalters and she was lovely. Very professional but warm and engaging and I instantly knew we would be in safe hands. I can’t recommend Coalters highly enough. I can’t imagine putting myself through the stress of buying and selling property again but if I did I would I wouldn’t consider anyone else.
