Requested some desktop valuations from them for the auditor of a company portfolio. They said that they would do these but 3 weeks late I’ve had nothing. I made several emails that they just didn’t respond to and several phone calls were I was promised a call back which didn’t happen. I even called the Branch Manager to register my frustration and despite a promise from a colleague that he would call me back he couldn’t be bothered either. I can’t comment on what they are like at selling or letting but their customer service is appalling.

I’ve worked with both Simon and Lisa from the Halifax team. Both have been really helpful in answering questions and progressing the hand over of the property and getting a tenant found and in place. There’s always a few issues that pop up when dealing with property and these have been dealt with well. Would recommend.

We certainly picked the best Estate agents, Linley and Simpson with Coalters, who made everything so smooth and simple not forgetting at the speed of light, We gladly give a five star rating to Linley and Simpson with Coalters. Stuart was amazing preparing our agreement, he arranged the exceptional photographer for the Monday, our sale was posted on the Wednesday with 3 viewings on the Friday of which 2 made offers immediately. We agreed to no-chain Buyers and now after less than 2 months we have moved into our new home. This was only possible because of the 5 star service from Linley and Simpson with Coalters. I can say thi is one of the best state agency in York. I rent the first property with this agency 4 years ago, their services are always amazing, they are always willing to help every thing we asked and one special thing is the deposit had been returned very fast and reasonable. The Coalters property we rented had only just been acquired by L&S after they merged, so there were a few bumps in the beginning for getting a response for some maintenance requests. One day in a local hardware store however, I overheard a stranger talking about L&S and how Mel Meadows was helping her out, so I emailed Mel. Ever since then, our needs have been addressed in an organized and very timely manner. She's been amazing, always keeping us informed of all the steps she's taking to address our needs. Today we love our place and the way L&S is handling any needs we have. Hooray for Mel!

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. Pudsey branch allowed me rent a house which was previous a weed den with no verbal acknowledgement of this. They covered up all the issues and failed to repair issues they were aware of prior to me moving in. Issues including let over organic plant matter in the loft (causing hundreds of mites and flies), a hole in the roof which was used for ventilation (which let water into the house when it rained), large furry mould patches along with more issues. I moved out after 4 months of excuses as to why the mould wasn’t being sorted. I have submitted a formal complaint which was escalated 4 weeks ago - I’ve since not had a response. Awful company
