Coalters as a whole, but Laura especially, made finding our ideal property in York less stressful/more exciting. Whilst many other estate agents would let out the property without notifying us or fail to turn up to viewings, Coalters staff were always there willing to answer any questions we had honestly and help us find the perfect property for us. Laura helped organise extra viewings so our trips to York weren't wasted and she was really helpful in every part of the process!

We have been using Coalters, as agents for our flat in York, for a long time time and find the personal support excellent. Sarah and Amanda have always been prompt in getting in touch with us in respect of questions from current tenants and helping to resolve any problems that may arise... ie washing machines not functioning as they should and external down pipes. We believe this is a win win win relationship between the tenants, landlord and Coalters and are pleased to recommend them.

I've been very pleased in all my dealings with Coalters. We are letting a house in Central York. Being from the United States we had to do the process remotely through an agent. From everything we have heard and from our own experience the process has gone very smoothly and we are extremely happy with the property. So far the whole process has been a pleasure and is truly a level above our experiences with other agencies in the past. We were visited by an agent today to examine a problem with our washer and do a general inspection. He was extremely professional and efficient, and also very nice in general. He came the next day after we registered a work order for the washer, which impressed us. All-in-all it's been a pleasure.

Linley & Simpson ensured that our house was visible in a prominent position on the internet and as a result sold in less that a week - achieving the price we wanted. Many of the team are very professional and cant do enough to help you while you are looking for a property. I think the cost upfront is a bit steep and I cant see where the charge for admin cost come from far to expensive from what they do. I moved into a property and went through the inventory some things did not work and these would be fixed. I am now two months in and still not fixed when i ring to get them sorted out i can tell there is a different way of dealing with customers, ( not as professional as before). Would i used them again the jury is out on that one. Cant help you enough before they have your money very hard work aftewards.

Tom, who visited our property was excellent, he was genuinely interested in our property and the reasons behind our decision to move. I had a brilliant experience with Coalters in York, my letting agent was Amber and she really was fantastic. The first property I viewed wasn't right and Amber picked up immediately on what was important to me and she hit the nail on the head with the second place I viewed. She knew a lot about the rental properties they had on the market and even what the Landlords/Lady's would or wouldn't allow (I wanted to bring my cat with me which isn't the easier thing to do!). After deciding on the property within the same week I had received the electronic tenancy agreements and supporting documents. The service was very efficient, I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

We had been searching for some time to find a rental property in York. The staff at Linley and Simpson were very helpful and professional without being 'hard sell' - unlike many of the estate agents here. Our situation was more difficult than many because we are pet owners and had just relocated from abroad. I asked Linley and Simpson to let and manage my Mother's apartment a few weeks ago. I have been very impressed with the quiet and efficient way that the lettings team have advertised and let the apartment within a couple of weeks with no fuss. I have not needed to be involved at all, except for an occasional phone call to keep me informed. I have found the whole team, from the manager to the lettings consultant, to be friendly, helpful and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend Linley and Simpson to anyone looking for a company to manage their property.

Coalters failed to contact me regarding the deadline of the first payment (rent and deposit) until a week before the deadline. I was on holiday during this time and unable to transfer any money. I called Coalters about the situation that I could not transfer money before the deadline and although they eventually acommodated these unfortunate circumstances, the woman on the phone was very rude. She snapped at me and stated that I was to blame for not paying before the deadline as I should have done it earlier. She eventually made a final snappy comment that I would have to just pay after the deadline and hung up. I am disgusted with Coalters.

From a Buyers & Sellers perspective. I've both sold and bought a property through Coalters, and my initial impression whilst buying was very favourable. They were friendly, and seemed professional. However, from the sellers point of view they are expensive, and although the an acceptable offer was found after a few mere days I didn't feel like they had the buyers interest in mind, but rather the pay check from a swift sale. After all the difference of 5-10 grand is a lot for the buyer, but may not be worth the extra effort for the estate agent. With the option again, I'd chose somewhere who seem a bit more interested in the buyers interest.

Last year, I wanted to rent my flat out for 6 months while I was working abroad. Coalters marketed my flat fantastically (great pictures) and managed to find lovely tenants for me that fitted the exact time I was away. Whilst I was out of the country, Coalters updated me with monthly statements and managed the property for me. They always responded quickly to my questions and there were no problems what-so-ever when I moved back home. coalters have sold ,helped us buy a house and for the last 2years have been renting a property we own for us . we found them to be very helpful .we were kept informed at all times with regular phone calls and e mails ,they have advised us of the best way to show our house we were trying to sell ,there are a little bit more expensive than some of the others but I think we have had a top quality service of them. all in all sometimes I think you get what you pay for and we have had good value for our money
