GoogleFrom the minute you make contact with Coalters you know you are dealing with a motivated professional firm . Nothing is too much trouble for anyone in their team they all work in a way that means they are all aware of all the people selling with them . We were lucky enough to have Tom as our named person he is calm and worked so hard for us also Jade and Clara . Coalters keep in contact with you , you immediately get some feedback after viewings then a full report the next day I think Yorks other estate agents could make a note of that . Coalters and Tom in particular give estate agents a good name . Selling a house is stressful but Coalters have a system that works it makes it as easy as it can be . I can recommend them

GoogleTerrible experience. We went 3 months at the property without a working oven and they only managed to get it fixed 3 weeks before our tenancy ended. They avoided fixing basic wear and tear at the property and generally showed no interest in assisting with a number of issues raised. We even had a fire in our child's bedroom caused because the property was only fit for low energy bulbs which they were unaware of and was not detailed in any of the sign in documents. We then requested an electrical safety inspection undertaking at the property which found another major issue requiring immediate action. They refused to share with us what this issue was as they said they and the landlords were not legally bound. Not great for our peace of mind. When we left the property they then tried to extract as much money from our deposit as possible which really rubbed salt in the wound after such a poor experience as tenants.

I have the opportunity to treat directly with Jade and Julie who have shown me an incredible professionalism, reliable and clear in all the process of renting from the viewing to the application. I feel they have values that I demand as honesty, trustful and helpful in all the process. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a flat in York.

GoogleI had the most amazing experience with Linley and Simpson. I have been with many letting agents in York, and I can honestly say, these were by far the Best. Everyone I spoke to, was so helpful. I have been speaking to Julie, Jade, Jayne and Jo (and some others who have been involved in my moving process), and all so helpful. Any problem we had, got dealt with almost immediately, and I am so impressed. With Linley and Simpson York, you are truly heard, and I cannot recommend them enough. Amazing customer services - thank you all who I have had the pleasure of speaking to.

GoogleExtremely friendly, helpful staff and a first-class professional service. They went out of their way to arrange quickly two viewings for us on consecutive days. Jade and Chris, the staff showing us around the property, were very passionate about it and knowledgeable about the history of the house and the area. The staff in the office (esp Marie, Alex and Jo) were a delight to work with and handled all paperwork efficiently . They went out of their way to help and were patient with our many calls and questions! We are delighted with our beautiful new home and feel confident that all queries will be dealt with promptly and fairly by this company. Thankfully we have had a very different experience with Linley than we had with other agents in the area!

GoogleThis agency seems legit from the appearance, but after having dealt with them for over a year I will not easily trust them again. During the period of our moving out this agency tried to double charge us on 'check-out appointment fee', which was charged once already at the start of our tenancy in the initial payment. Moreover we were charged a cleaning bill of over 100 pounds that is not specified, there was no breakdown of what areas were cleaned and the invoice itself looked fairly dodgy, there was no evidence of what was cleaned either. The condition of the flat when we moved in was not impressive, the walls were covered in marks, there were stains on the carpet and the floor was not properly vacuumed. When we moved out I have taken pictures of the condition of the property we left it in, which for the most part was in a better condition than when we received it, and sent those pictures to the agency. Yet the only thing the agency could provide us was a vague invoice of the total amount of the cleaning bill from a company unheard of. This is not acceptable and not standard practice from my years of renting properties in York. If you're considering renting from this agency, beware of anything they try to charge you and be sure to be there when they do the check-out for the property, so you can stop them from playing games.

GoogleWe were two separate people viewing this property and both were interested. The lady from the agency told us that both applications will be considered and the landlord will pick one tenant (that it won't be on a first come first served) so I filled the online application immediately and called them twice to let them know that I will be applying. Then 1 hour later when I sent the application and called them, they told me that the other person viewing the property arrived first and they will only process his application. Do not let this happen to you. They are unreliable.

GoogleNever again. Failed to inform us of the damp and mould problem with the flat we rented. Once the problem started to show through the refurbishment, they had obviously done before we rented it, we began ringing and going into their offices for assistance. The staff there don't care, such a slack attitude to your problems, almost as though your bothering them with your trivial stuff. Because of that flat we had to throw away furniture and mattresses and replace them when we moved, this wasn't cheap. Linley and Simpson have been an expensive mistake for us, I can't express how happy we are now to be free of them and their horrendous property. I've never dealt with such a dishonest franchise that allows hard working people to rent properties you wouldn't let a dog live in, they achieve this by decorating over the problems to hide them from potential tenants, and then do nothing to rectify the problems when they become noticeable to those tenants. An all round horrific and expensive experience, one that has put a huge dent in our life savings. I would rather be back in Afghan for six months, than live in another one of their properties for one month........
