GoogleI was welcomed to a property viewing by Jack who was very approachable, professional and friendly. I also had a meeting with him at the office today and he was really helpful and attentive, I would definitely recommend them!

GoogleI stand by my initial review of Jon McCall being a stellar letting agent. However, once the money was transfered over any customer service ended. We spent our entire tenancy requesting 2 of the 3 balcony doors to be fixed (we were not told they were broken while viewing) and our compaints fell on deaf ears. We were told one story after the next, and was passed on to 3 different members of staff who were not helpful. We also enjoyed coming home to every single window and door wide open as workman had come , completed works and entered our apartmentwithout informing us that anyone would be accessing our apartment. We complained immediately and we were assured this wouldnt happen again however the following 2 days it happened. Coalters took ZERO responsibilty and palmed it off on the landlord saying he organised it without letting them know and that it wasn't their responsibility. We paid a lot of money to rent this apartment and receved the WORST service Ive experienced in 10 years of renting in the Leeds and York areas! We were also delightlfuly woken up on a saturday morning by a lovely couple come to view our flat despite Coalters not following the law and giving us 24 hours notice. (that was a lot of fun). I also recieved unprofessional calls by coalters agents asking if i could leave work early to let them in for a viewing that we'd not been made aware was even scheduled. Once they have your money its job done for them.

GoogleLinley Simpson came round and gave me a value for renting my property 18 months ago, unfortunately I was talked into using another agency who gave a fantastic sales pitch of how they could get much more for my property, 3 months later after a couple of reductions I ended up going back to Linley Simpson and within 2 weeks they had my property rented out. 18 months on I have decided to sell my property and Linley Simpson sold this within 48 hours at a price that I was happy with, the service that I have received from both the rental and sales department has been fantastic, they are a great team to use when selling or renting, always keeping me up to date with progress I could not ask for better service.

GoogleI am very disappointed with this company. I paid over the odds as I thought this would be reflected in service. Needless to say it wasn’t. Coalters placed a tenant in my property back in May. I paid for a tenant find service which includes reference checks however this tenant was not throughly checked. I was assured this tenant was the best option and that he was a “great tenant”. He signed contracts and moved into the property a week later for me to find out he had debt collectors on his case and he could not afford to pay any rent. I asked Coalters to help in which they replied with, “if you would like further assistance with this tenant we would be happy to help if you upgrade to our fully managed service” in which I would have had to pay them a percentage of rent which I was not receiving. 7 months later I have finally gone through the courts and evicted this tenant, with no help from Coalters. I have lost 7 months rent plus the cost of legal fees and I am now left with red letters from energy providers, York city council etc as none of these have been paid. I would seriously advise landlords not to use Coalters as I feel they were too quick to get their commission and have no remorse for any actions post payment. I understand I chose a tenant find only option and this was not managed by Coalters (thank god!) however I felt as an agent they did not carry out their due diligence and could not wait to wash their hands of me. I will not be using them again or recommending them to any of my friends and family.

GoogleWe used Linley & Simpson both on the lettings and sales side for several years. They initially helped us to rent our house in York when we moved to another city; then they sold our house with a minimum of fuss and anxiety. In terms of renting the property, we generally found them to be excellent: their rates are competitive, the service was always very good, and they were able to offer prompt and affordable tradespeople when work needed doing on the property. We tried a couple of other letting agencies in York, and L&S were easily the best. On the selling side, meanwhile, we got terrific advice from Adam, who I think has now moved to head office to train new Adams; and we were kept closely informed of all the activity when viewings were going on. Having the letting and sales happening in the same office was very convenient, especially when dealing with a slightly tricky tenant who wasn't always cooperative on allowing viewings. The final phases of the sale went smoothly, and both the price we received and the commission to L&S left us feeling as if we'd gotten a good deal. I would strongly recommend Linley & Simpson on the basis of our experiences, both as landlords and on the sales side.

GoogleMy husband and I have been liaising with Linley and Simpson over the last month or so as we continue our search for a rental property near to York. Whilst we haven’t so far found exactly what we are looking for; (we are quite fussy! Ha!) the service we have received has been superb. My husband has regular contact via email with Stephanie who sends us details of properties that may be of interest and we have both spoken over the phone with her a couple of times too. She is always so helpful and makes us feel valued. Fingers crossed we can find a property through you soon!

When moving out of my rented property they refused to release all my deposit. Instead of contacting me to give it one more clean, I was given numerous bills to pay. Staff very unhelpful and refused to work with me. They refuse to support clients instead they want quick fixes. Such a shame...however I have a wonderful new property and away from renting. Be aware of the company especially the Harrogate branch.
