Beware of this company. At first they were vague about the nature of their contribution towards the cost of the property. Later they said it was a Lifetime Mortgage ( which is one form of equity release). However it is not a lifetime mortgage. If you take out a lifetime mortgage you own the property. With Homewise they own the property even though you will contribute much more than them to the price of the property. I checked with the Equity Release Council, Homewise are not an approved lender and you are not covered by ERC protections.

This is reflected throughout our marketing and literature, which is designed to be open and transparent about the service and product we offer.Homewise offers the Home for Life Plan, whereby we purchase a property (subject to criteria) chosen by our customer who in turn purchases a Home for Life Plan to live there for their lifetime at a significant saving against the value of the property. The Plan includes a Lifetime Lease which is registered at Land Registry, providing security and the right to live in the property rent-free and mortgage-free.Please be assured a Home for Life Plan purchase cannot proceed without our customer receiving full legal advice through their own independent solicitor, with that solicitor confirming that the customer has a full understanding of the terms and effect of the Plan and has chosen to proceed with the purchase.Your personal account manager remains available to answer any questions you have at any time. GoogleHomewise made the whole process for us to move and downsize to a two bedroom bungalow with smaller garden apropriate to our requirements. The whole process of selling our house and moving into our bungalow took just three months and removed any of the usual worries and hassle involved in moving. Homewise, or should I say Carl Fitter their representative along with the solicitor recommended by them, managed everything and removed all of the stress levels associated with moving house. The only thing remaining for me to say is, thank you Carl and Homewise.

GoogleThe process of getting a lifetime lease has been amazing. The information has been clear and concise from day one and carried on throughout each stage. I have had a real feeling that homewise really want to make sure that both the property you are buying and the lifetime lease are the right fit for you and are very thorough. Our dealings initially with Gary and then later with Rhonda our account manager have been very professional and also very easy. They take the strain of liaising with all parties in the chain so that you don't have to. Lastly, the flexibility of this product is also amazing. We discovered that we can take the lease with us to a new property should we need to move and not pay any penalties other than the normal moving costs. Highly recommended
