Barbara at the Victoria site was…

Barbara at the Victoria site was brilliant, however due to circumstances we had to pull out on the plot. When reserving I was told my £500 was fully refundable; however, its been 2 months and I still have not received my cheque in the post. Every time I call head office they dont know what I am talking about, fob me off and put the phone down. If it was £50 i would have let it go but £500 alot of money, think twice about reserving if your not 100000% sure.

Outstanding

We moved into the Meon Vale site a few months ago and it has been outstanding from the point of reservation through to the getting our snags closed out. Would highly recommend.

4 years in and still issues outstanding…

4 years in and still issues outstanding but informed them not to bother. Only way to get issues rectified is to chase multiple times and escalate and in fairness, it is at least completed then, but it shouldn't be that way. They are out to blame the customer at every opportunity without any acknowledgement of the truth and have no respect for the customer. Not at Moen but we were told the land opposite our development would remain as green space and they sold it to another developer to build on.We weren't kept informed of the build throughout despite reserving 6 months prior to completion, home demo was a nightmare (rearranged 4 times on the same day last minute - I left work each time, and the house was not finished) and pushed for an unrealistic completion date in line with their financial half year end (31st May) so be aware of any May or November completions. Later blamed us for delay and threaten to withdraw incentives for not being in a position to move when the fault was theirs. Have no firm records of what they pay their works teams/contractors to install and then change the story to suit their own narrative when they realise their error will cost them - this is evidenced with their accusations of our patio extension, where they claimed we paved over existing drainage, which never existed in the first place. I find it shocking that on one hand they claim the houses are standard and can't be altered from the plan, and then they don't know what they're paying contractors to lay! St Modwen need to learn some basic empathy - they seem to repeatedly fail to realise you're selling a dream and people's forever homes, yet fall well short of their marketing claims. They also had a complete lack of acknowledgement that I cancelled an appointment to attend a funeral - I had to repeat the reason for the cancellation when the rep was clearly annoyed at the (reasonable) request. Tip - make a subject access request, it gives a huge insight into disrespectful, untrue and abhorrent comments made by them about customers and evidences their shocking working practices.

We have had a really positive…

We have had a really positive experience from start to finish with reserving the plot, being kept informed throughout the build process, to exchange of contracts and then the move. We had delays naturally because of covid as originally we should of moved may 2020, this got postponed to July 2020, but st modwen communicated with us the whole time and we were aware of what was happening throughout. The move was a breeze, we purchased with part exchange and we had no difficulties with this process, st modwen advised us to ask to keep the keys for our old property for a period of time so we had longer to move in, we didn't even know we could do that. St modwen arranged this with our solicitor and it was extremely helpful. When we moved in we have a few minor snags which we raised with site and they quickly sorted them out. We then had a few other snags, nothing major, mainly decorating snags which we raised with customer service they arranged a date to complete these and they were completed perfectly. We found the customer service team really easy to contact and they came quickly to address the issues. We previously purchased A new build property with a differnt company and have found st modwen a much better developer. Would definitely recommend.

A* service from start to finish

A* service from start to finish! I have to admit I read some of the reviews after the reserved in February and had a tinge of worry but we moved in on the 16th of October and so far no issue has been left unresolved. Honestly from the beginning the sales at Banbury Place, Beth and Tracy during our purchase, were fab. Even when the first lockdown happened Tracy called us to reassure us that, even though there was so much uncertainty, we would be kept up to date on when they were able to build again. And she kept true to her promise! Beth and Tracy welcomed us into their sales office, even our 2 year old who couldn’t keep still. They gave us helpful advice while picking our choices for kitchen, tiles and flooring and most of all they were friendly and kept us in the loop. I would advise calling the sales office rather than email - they probably got 100s of emails a day to they’re easily overlooked. We finally got to visit our home in August for post-plaster fix, Cameron - our site manager was down to earth and honest. On home demo day and moving in day he was there to check in on us and assured us that he wouldn’t leave us alone until any issues we had were resolved! We had very minor snags which were sorted in a timely manner and the only defect we had was an issue with the boiler communication which again was resolved very quickly - nothing was too much hassle for Cameron and the site team. The build is an excellent quality and we’re so happy to be one of the first move in on the site. Banbury Place deserve a 5* rating! Even if it seems reviews from buyers on other sites aren’t reflective of this. Every site is very different, that’s worth bearing in mind when buying. Thank you sales and site of Banbury Place.

We have been looking to move to a local…

We have been looking to move to a local area called Meon Vale for some time now. We had been told repeatedly by St Modwen representatives and on many pieces of their advertising literature that they prided the local woodland area. We have had to abandon our prospects of moving to Meon Vale now due to St Modwen going ahead with plans to bulldoze the local woodland area to build on. We have been sold lies consistently by St Modwen and now on principle will never buy a St Modwen home.

False Marketing, False promises. Do not buy!!!

I am only giving 1 star as there is no option for zero!!. We purchased our ‘home’ 6 years ago, with St Modwen promoting the woodland walk and green areas as a positive factors for moving to the area. The developer speaks of bio diversity and sustainability on its site. However 6 years on we find ourselves in a battle to save the very woods that are still being advertised as a reason to purchase here. The developer now wishes to bulldoze the woodland with the view of building more homes, destroying the natural habitats for the wildlife in the area. This is not what we were promised when we purchased. I feel hoodwinked by the duplicity of such a heinous money grabbing company.

Absolutely awful

We bought a house on the Meon Vale Development and were sold on the lifestyle this would allow us to lead - our house is on the greenway a few minute walk from a woodland. A few years later St Modwen are happy to destroy the woodland - one of their previous key selling points, which they agreed to protect - to build more houses to make more profit. Couple this with terrible maintenance of the site in general and I would prefer to leave a 0 star review!

Our perfect 5* Home

We first spotted these houses in clay cross Egstow Park a few years back, I always said I’d have one of the houses one day! Absolutely beautiful. Anyway fast forward a few years , went into the office to see what was affordable for us, we did an early bird reservation right there and then. This reservation was where the houses was not released so didn’t have a price , but you could early bird it so nobody else could, soon as it gets released you get first dibs on it once you know the details and price etc. So we did that, but then changed our mind on house and swapped our early bird to a new plot, 3 month later we did the official reservation. We must of poped into the site office a million times 😂 nothing was ever too much for Lindsey , she helped us thru the whole process, mortgage application, help to buy application, she was always on hand. We are first time buyers so didn’t know a thing. We was kept upto date with weekly updates on our build, even thru Covid our home was delayed for move in by 3 month, but that’s nobody’s fault as the building sites shut down. We was invited to visit our home on 3 occasions, if we did come into any problems they was resolved very quickly and professionally . 27th November we completed and moved into our perfect home, got settled , we had a few call ins from site manager and Lindsey , had a few calls to check we was all ok etc. Had our 7 day visit for snags, the issues we did pull up was very minor , loose door handles, painting etc nothing major , everything has nowBeen completed 8 days later this has also included outsiders coming in to do some work. Nothing has never been too much trouble, we’ve never been happier and our home is just perfect . All ready for Christmas :)

Weogoran Park - great service

Weogoran Park - WorcesterThe advisers at this site have been amazing. They go out of their way to help and make things as smooth as possible.Due to COVID it has been a challenging time but the measures put in pace at Weogoran Park has enabled us to view the show-homes and still choose a property. Both Jules and Danielle have been great and answered all our questions and kept us updated. We have just signed up for property and I am hopeful that the level of service will continue as we move through the process and once we move in.

5 stars! Amazing!

Well considering we purchased our first house during a global pandemic i honestly couldn't fault St Modwen one little bit! It was honesty one of the smoothest and simple experiences we have gone through, nothing was too much to ask of them - they sent me photos of samples for options, pictures of the plot as it developed and even measured windows for us to enable us to have the right things in ready for us moving. The sales team went above and beyond with our constant asking, requests to view and swapping my mind on options - nothing was ever too much to ask.Minor snagging that has swiftly been put right but the amazing aftercare team.I would highly recommend St Modwen to anyone looking to buy a new home!!

Horrific experience

Meon vale site. I gave 1 star as you have no choice! We will never buy a home from them again! We had plans for a play park outside our new home. As soon as we moved in and they had sold all the houses they changed the plans! We now don’t have a small park outside our house for the children like promised when buying our home! It was one of the main reasons we said yes to the house. We have had so many things go wrong with our home. The bath came off the wall, it wasn’t fitted properly. ( one of their own work men told us we was lucky we didn’t go through the ceiling when the bath was full) We had water come through our kitchen ceiling Flooding our kitchen because the showers had been fitted so badly! Mould grew under the lino in the bathroom. I was due to have my baby and was left with no flooring in my en-suite for 6 months! If we complained they would tell us someone is booked in but they would never turn up. We lost money from taking time off work, waiting for their workmen to fix the problems. After a while They blocked our emails because we had to complain about so many things that had gone wrong. The cracks in our walls are really bad. Our staircase is poor. The Carpets are awful. We had to replace our floors downstairs because they refused to fix the problem. Our balcony doors pooled with water everytime it rained. Our drive way flooded our garage due to it being done so poor, we had to ask them to put a drain in! We still have puddles build up when it rains because it’s so uneven. They lost some of the keys to our front door, so we had to pay for someone to change the front door. The woodlands have been a massive Part of our life, they are now taking it away from us! I could go on and on. We Are still fixing things in our home 2 and a bit years later, as you fix one thing you find something else is wrong! If I was to write about every problem we have had we would be here forever. Do NOT buy a home from them! They make promises and never follow them through! They are not helpful at all. I honestly wouldn’t waste your money or time. It ruined our experience of buying our first home, nearly 3 years here and we are still fixing things ourselves! More money spent that we shouldn’t be spending to fix their poor work. Once they have their money they do not care. And their attitudes are disgusting!

St Modwens FRAUD

‘’At St. Modwen Homes, we’re committed to biodiversity and protecting our native species. 0 stars from me!

Considering that the below statement is on your website and you are looking to destroy a beautiful woodland home to lots of wildlife... it doesn’t sit very well. My first home was sold to me with a beautiful woodland walk but now you threaten to destroy it? Was considering upgrading my home for another of your homes but NEVER AGAIN would i trust you to sell me anything. Also spent a fortune replacing tyres from the nails that your builders carelessly leave lying on the roads, not to mention the huge trenches and raised man hole covers that we have to drive over for over 2 years. Worst experience. Anyway enjoy the below statement....‘’At St. Modwen Homes, we’re committed to biodiversity and protecting our native species. When we bought the house

When we bought the house, we were barely told anything. We had to constantly chase for updates. Now we are in, we are still chasing. For various jobs to be repaired, and the customer service manager who's job it is to deal with complaints does not even reply. On that basis, i would not reccomend buying a house. My neighbours feel the same, they just do not value you. It is such a shame, as the houses are so lovely.

Unhelpful Weogoran Park

We are a young couple. We went to look at Weogoran Park! From the moment we went to look at the show home and available houses we were mad to feel inadequate and stupid. We were repeatedly questioned on our affordability, even after going through their recommended broker! We asked for the extras list so we could budget and were told “if you have to asked you probably can’t afford”. We paid the reservation fee on a home As It was everything we wanted. We paid the fee £250 but was told it’s normally £1000. About two months later we got a call asking if we wanted to reserve! They wanted more money and had no record of the original reservation and money! The sales staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, like we were the inconvenience. We eventually after 3 months of emails for our “refundable” deposit back! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
