I first met Hannah Woods in December 2020 when my flat had recently gone on the market in London and I stupidly assumed it would be a quick sale. Wanting to move out I contacted Romans about a rental property. From day 1 Hannah was helpful, quick to respond and very easy to deal with. My flat finally sold in July and I found my rental. Thank you Hannah for your help, advice and support. I have no hesitation in recommending Romans, and especially Hannah!

The team at Romans in Winchester and in particular Hannah Wood, have been great from viewing to move in and beyond! Hannah communicated all of the updates and information throughout the process so I wasn't left wondering what was going on and responded really quickly to any questions I had about the move - great customer service and a joy to speak to! I write this review on a bank holiday Monday, having locked myself out of my flat due to stupidly leaving my keys on the side (doh!) - Hannah went above & beyond and came out within an hour on her day off just to let me back in. Amazing service. Highly recommend these guys!

As a group of friends looking to rent as professional sharers we ran into so many obstacles in finding a property. It felt like most estate agents couldn't wait to get us off the phone but thankfully this was not the case with Annie and the rest of the team at Romans. They have been open and swift in their communication with everything from the viewing of our current property (which we are very happy with), the signing of documentation to the move in. It has been a breeze. Particularly liaising with Annie was incredibly refreshing as she was incredibly knowledgeable about our property and had all the answers we were looking for. The property manager went an extra 10 miles. CE volunteered to deal with my tenant at 7.30pm. Yes pm. Communications regarding an engineer visit the next day came in late and CE passed it all on for me to my tenants. Well beyond what she is paid and expected to do. No difficulty, just natural. But it must have messed up her evening. The entire office staff have a great manner.

They seemed on top of things while we were trying to view and rent the property, I guess that was the local winchetser office. But unfortunately past that the management side were terrible to us, slow to respond when we needed anything, with the default position of blaming us for anything wrong, really poor communication. When it came to moving out the deposit was almost impossible to sort. Each email would take 3 or 4 days to be responded to and overall the process took over 2 months to finalise. Once it did we were charged £450 for a clean despite the fact it should have cost about £175 from a respected cleaners locally. The agents did nothing and were completely useless. There was 0 intent to help or protect us in any way. I will actively not be recommending Roman's to friends and family nor ever using them again. Very disappointing experience.

Romans Winchester delivered first class service from the moment we called them to enquire about a property available to let. We were in a difficult situation trying to leave a property that was no longer fit to live in and everyone in the Romans team did everything they could to ensure we were okay through the whole process. The big win for Romans is that their communication between their team members is next to none. From the viewing where we met Abbie and she efficiently and professionally showed us the property to the follow up with Kim and Hannah we felt confident and well informed the whole way through. Following on from being accepted to take on a tenancy with good communication between Romans and the landlord we began the tenancy process which was handled brilliantly. Hannah was efficient and kept us well informed the whole way through answering any questions or concerns we had with move in dates and inventories etc. Our move in day was very exciting as Charlotte had ensured our contracts and papers were all delivered to us in good time and we didn't feel rushed at any point into being pressured to getting documents completed and we were able to do this at ease while packing up a house and continuing on our day to day life through our move. Overall every single person we met or spoke to at Romans have been absolutely fantastic and anyone who gets the luxury of communicating with Romans whether that be through a let or purchase will no doubt be as happy as my partner and I. Well done Romans for not letting customer service and good communication fall, we are so happy to have finally met and encountered wonderful estate agents.

The Winchester office , and Kim Bone were excellent , going out of their way to help to get information which should have been provided by the our property manager Karen Joyce . We have to e mail / phone number of times and still we do not get a satisfactory out come . We are still waiting to hear the outcome and report from TDS regarding the monies arising from the damage caused by our last tenant . something needs changing !!!!!!!!!!

We were previously with Romans for our first move and Amber helped us beyond what I could have imagined. For that reason we chose to go with Romans again this year. We hit a bit of a blip and even though Amber wasn’t even working she went above and beyond to help us. Although the issue was not a fault of hers she still tried what she could to help us and for me that’s all that matters. I have always spoken about how amazing the service is with Romans but Amber is definitely who we go to with anything! Fingers crossed the issue does get sorted but I know whatever happens we can rely on Amber.

We've been looking for our dream house for a few years. We love the area we live in and didn't want to leave. We set our hearts on a property only 2 streets away but we lost out on it. I was feeling upset and worried that we might lose our buyers and saw a house that Romans had for sale. Picking up the phone to them was the best thing I've ever did. Our budget wasn't where it needed to be for this house but I was never made to feel like they didn't have time for me. I had a really wonderful chat Lewis who was really helpful and really listened to my needs and what we were looking for. Then I had a phone call back from Craig Banbury, this man is a true legend. Over the past 2 years both myself and my husband have meet a lot of estate agents and you can sometime feel that a game is being played. From the get go you never felt this way with Craig. He is so honest, so up front with us that within a week get had found our dream home. He's quick on email, returns calls, funny and all round a really good guy...Just what you want when trying to find a new home! I can't thank Craig and the team at Romans, and when we next move I know I'll be going back to them! The mail then reverted to form, told porkies about the travels - travails? - of the item and eventually returned it to the sender. Romans 5, Royal mail - 0

Highly recommend Romans. We wasted a lot of time with other agents not getting anywhere. Being dinasaurs we did not want a load of fluff and graphs. Neither did we need viewings that were not appropriate. James “cold called” on us and chatted on the doorstep but was not pushy at all. After giving the other agents a final go we gave up after a careless faux-pas. James and team arrived, and immediately we felt this team would work together and we were not disappointed. We had weekly updates, sensible advice and happily recently achieved a sale which is proceeding well. They also have been helpful with the onward purchase agents. We mainly were in touch with Craig & Fern but the whole team have been helpful and after 34 years will be moving soon. We are grateful for the advice and help and wholeheartedly recommend Romans to anyone wanting to move and to have personal service.

We have been renting for three years and our property was put on the market. Fern and Craig were sensitive to the situation and when we mentioned that we may be interested in buying it we were put on to Steve from their mortgage team. Steve was professional and very knowledgeable and made us realise that owning a home could be in our reach. He went above and beyond to offer advice as did Craig with the property. Although we may not buy the property we currently in we will not hesitate to use them as a team in helping us find our "forever" home. I cannot recommend James and Craig and their team at Roman's highly enough. After a terrible experience with Estate Agents I was left wondering their value and worth to me when I was selling my house just outside WInchester. Thankfully they restored that faith very quickly and I would not even attempt to sell a property without seeking their services and advise. My house was correctly priced and positioned on the market and within a few weeks I had an offer. The selling process was monitored every step of the way and they took care of everything. If you have any doubts about what Estate Agents do - use Roman's and you will be secretly surprised. Most excellent experience!
