Martin and Co have been great in helping to sort our student housing for next year! Piers was extremely helpful and has made the process easy to understand and helped everything run smoothly. This made the whole thing a lot less nerve racking and we can now relax knowing we have a great house sorted thanks to him. Would definitely recommend to others, especially those like us who would benefit from someone like Piers guiding them through the rental process for the first time !

I wouldn't recommend Martin & Co estate agents to anyone, although we really don't have a choice since they have such a monopoly over the listings in the area. The process has mostly been tedious and displeasurable, and they're asking for a five star review before my interactions with them have even finished. as much as I detest estate agents in general Martin & Co haven't made me feel better towards them. First impressions from one particular individual led me to suspect his incompetence which was later proven on several occasions where he missed the ball, I had to be the proactive one in arranging viewings, which he didn't realise I was actually turning up for despite confirming several times. He immediately suggested a discounted price he had no control over on a room that had been taken by the evening. I just don't trust anything they say to be true You will have to tell them the same information repeatedly, which they still want to you confirm back to them before they action anything, and then forget.

My son has rented uni accommodation with Martin & Co Winchester for the last five months, and is on the verge of signing with them again to cover his accommodation from August 2025 onwards. There were some initial teething problems this year but Julian, the branch manager, took ownership for resolving them and I was super impressed with the efficiency in which this happened. His communication was also amazing, and I really valued this aspect. For upcoming accommodation my son and I have been dealing with Karl. Again, communication has been great. He has called back when he has said he will, and answers all emails in a timely manner. I've been happy with the service my son has received from Karl and I've no qualms about him using Martin & Co again for his uni accommodation based on the service received.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Karl at the Martin & Co Winchester branch in regards to a student property for my son this coming September, I reached out to Karl in December 2024 with the general enquiry as to when would it be ideal to start viewing student accommodation for the new academic year 2025/26, he suggested that as these properties get advertised and “Let agreed” fairly quickly to start our search in the New Year and to check on the webpage regularly. We arranged to meet in February 2025 for our first viewings, however my son still overly keen to browse the accommodation on offer, found and viewed a room the same day with Karl and has successfully secured a beautiful room for his final year at university. Karl has been very professional throughout and has acted quickly to help my son find his perfect room, Karl has been keeping him up to date with progress via WhatsApp and I couldn’t ask for anymore assistance from Karl as I’m 150 miles away and Karl at Martin & Co has been so helpful in keeping me and my son updated, I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Karl on the telephone and his friendliness and abilities have shone though, a true asset to your Winchester team, thank you again for all your assistance Karl its very much appreciated.

Over the last few months I have been looking to move to the Andover/Whitchurch area. I have been to view a number of property’s with several different local estate agents. The experience I have had dealing with Martin and co Winchester has been by far the best. The staff have been very pleasant, helpful and professional. ***UPDATED*** After a prompt call from Julian out of hours and a swift response from the team at the Martin & Co Winchester this morning our problem was resolved and we are super happy with the outcome and would highly recommend. Thank you again for the great service **** My partner and I recently moved into a “fully furnished flat” or at least that’s what we thought. However upon arrival to the flat it was evident that we were missing items that should have been there. We are missing a TV, a single sofa chair and a table and chairs set. We are also waiting on a response from EnviroAir regarding our faulty extractor fan, we were told by our property manager to just wait for them to call, it’s been nearly a week now. It has now been over a month and is ongoing, and is becoming an increasingly annoying situation. Martin & Co, or rather our property managers (who I will not name and shame), have given little to zero communication throughout this period, despite having used all forms of communication (email, call and going into the branch). One of our property managers didn’t even know we had problems despite having emailed and emailed and called many times before when we went in to ask about it. This whole experience has put unwanted stress on both of us and we both feel very let down and disappointed by Martin & Co especially after having such a good experience in the early stages of this process.

Julian Bessey at Martin & Co, Winchester is absolutely amazing. His in depth knowledge of the property market and buy-to-let sector is second to none. He has been incredibly patient with us and our buyers, guiding them to make ideal investment choices. He has sold many properties for us, much quicker and smoother than any other estate agent and at good prices. He has repeatedly succeeded where others have fallen short, I am especially impressed by the care and attention he gives to lower value properties as much as the higher value ones.
