TrustpilotTerrible experience! Week 1 in the new flat, water stains and mold, construction and design issues
It’s been 1 week since we moved to our new flat in Maidstone Springfield Park and we already feel like we made a huge mistake in buying this property!Water leak is major issue and now it’s been 3 days since it started, despite many calls and emails to the Weston Homes service department plumber hasn’t visited us yet, all we have received is a standard email response “your issue was sent to plumbers”, no one answers to the phone either, as it continues to go on voicemail It’s a new flat and it has water stains and mold already!the flat is humid and smells of dump, large section of carpet is soaked in water and it is very difficult to dry with current weatherAmong other issues: doorbell is not working and we are missing all the deliveries, boiling water tap is cold, entrance door is made with a thin “wood effect” tape very prone to scratches, there is only 1 lift for a building with so many flats, plaster joint visible and ceiling is uneven.Network cables were run to the bedroom and living room but left unterminated hidden behind the wall plates, no network ports were installed, instead BT 431a telephone line socket is installed in the bedroom? Sorry but who is installing hardware phone lines in the bedrooms nowadays??Tiles in the bathroom are not high enough to protect the plastered wall from water splashes. Flat has down lighters in every room and the ceiling only 245cm, why recessed LEDs were not installed instead? The sales lady kept saying the this flat would be very sunny as it is facing south! It is true that is facing south, but she forgot to mention that there are trees taller than our 4th floor obstructing all the light. Since the south side of the building was not accessible/visible it was your duty to inform buyer about this!! Be fair to your customers, we wanted light instead we got a dark flat with the carped all soaked in water

TrustpilotWorst customer service experience ever
Worst customer service experience ever. Homes handed over with multiple defects. Some so obvious it questionable who they actually employ to do these works in the first place, a child could have completed it better. Onto my 8th visit now and still work to be done. As the the communal areas....Weston homes are hopeless as to correctly any of these issues. First time buyer experience totally ruined.Security issues due to failure to address issues proactively, instead waiting until things fail completely. As a result, multiple thefts of bikes from the car park.I have also now received an electric shock due to a wire that was hanging from a ceiling in the common areas. Reported to WH prior to incident and not corrected even a week later. Emails often ignored. Never called back as promised. Will not admit when they are in the wrong.Sales team were good, they are self employed. Totally wish I had invested elsewhere with another developer. Feel so let down. End of the development was rushed to get their contractors off to another site.

TrustpilotSo this is extremely important for all…
So this is extremely important for all new development homebuyers, Weston Homes build aesthetically beautiful apartments. But there is a huge catch, the short cut materials and work, you move in and find hundreds of snagging, damage and non functioning equipment like attraction fans, heating, lighting and numerous other issues. Completely normal for a new build apartment right? Well yes but the catch being that Weston homes gives you a 2 year snagging warrenty. After a few months however you will quickly find that they don't honour this and will quickly arrange, cancel and eventually ignore all requests to resolve your issues. You will experience more redtape up until the development is completed and they are gone. You will then be tasked to chase them down legal routes to resolve and they will happily wait for you to do this as it becomes a chase me if you want to win which most people don't have the money or handle the stress that comes with it. They also work closely with Management companies that will fail to provide services and hike your service charge to the point you cannot sell your property without making a significant loss. Stay away from Weston Homes at all costs

TrustpilotLife’s too short to spend your savings being trapped in the development from hell.
Unfortunately I have little to no positive reviews about Weston Homes. Well maybe 1, their sales team is incredibly good at conning young couples/people into spending all of their savings on poor quality, badly constructed and unsafe developments. So congratulations for that 👏🏻. Upon moving onto our first ever flat a year and a half ago, we are still waiting on our snagging list items to be completed. Their customer service team takes months to reply and it’s honestly one of the most painful experiences trying to deal with them on any issues relating to our flat or the development. Wherever they can they try to wash their hands of any responsibility, either blaming the tenants or the management company and therefore nothing gets done. We fought for the past year just to get basic security measures put into place at the cost of our service charge, because the quality of materials they use for doors/fencing were so poor they break almost every week. We suffered from multiple break in’s in our “secure and private” car park, drug addicts wondering around site and teenagers destroying the development grounds because they so easily have access through broken entry points. The intercom systems only allows delivery drivers to come in through the external gates but once in, they have no where to go, so really what is the point of that intercoms system. The quality of everything around site is so poor, so don’t be fool by the initial “modern” look that they photograph so well in the sales photos. It’s all lies. The door frames are made of plastic coloured to look like wood and therefore come off wall like badly hanging art. The balconies have not been designed for rain, which in the UK is a real problem. This means when it rains, there is no guttering so the water pools on the balconies and generates an unhygienic living environment with mould starting to grow. However, they did fix this. Their solution was to stick pipes in the balconies so you were luckily if you bought a flat on the top floors, but if you live below someone else’s balcony, water cascade down onto yours because it has nowhere else to go. So good luck if you live on the bottom flat, because it’s like waiting at a bus stop next to a big puddle. One minute your dry and then a truck flies through the puddle and suddenly your in shock and covered in dirty, disgusting water. Except in that scenario, you can go home and shower and wash way the day. But in these flats, the shower is probably leaking, the automatic tapes scold you with boiling water and there’s been a leak in the building that floods an entire block causing them to switch off the electricity, power and WIFI for days. Meaning you a trapped in an ongoing nightmare that never seems to end. So overall, my recommendation is DO NOT BUY. Life’s too short to waste your all your spendings on one of Weston Home’s developments.

TrustpilotFirst time buyer wishes they bought elsewhere
I moved into my new build flat in NOVEMBER 2020 (LANGLEY SQUARE DARTFORD), its now APRIL 2021, since moving in I have sent WESTON HOMES close to 60 emails complaining about physical damage resulting in their failure. I have flooring which hasn't been put down properly, engineered hardwood flooring which bounces up and down all over the living room and kitchen area, skirting boards are marked through out the flat, poorly cut and poorly placed. kitchen units 3 of which are a completely different colour, marks and scratches over the bottom half of the units, front door bangs back and forwards when the communal door is opened and closed! wood cut short on my balcony leaving a gap! leaky radiators and more! all of these issues have been reported and WESTON HOMES have arranged dates for the issues to be fixed I have patiently sat in on two separate occasions and no one has shown up to fix them! when I call customer services all they do is apologise and say my issues will be addressed.... it has been incredibly frustrating and I am beyond disappointed! they don't even deserve 1 star! i would ask anyone wishing to buy from WESTON HOMES to please read their reviews first before making such an expensive decision. I am tired of it all and I wish I bought elsewhere.

TrustpilotMy solicitor found a few issues with…
My solicitor found a few issues with Western Homes Watford Cross. Number 1 was remedied but the rest WH refused to change and even suggested I use a different solicitor!1) 999 year leasehold but if the ground rent goes above £500 it will automatically change to a tenancy2) That the Developer will remedy any defects of which you have served Notice on them prior to completion. You could, therefore, be walking into a partly uncompleted Flat. 3) That any variations they make under the terms of the Agreement will not reduce the value of the Property. 4) That you can't rely on the Drawings and Specifications for the construction of the Property.5) That the furnishings and fittings you have been led to believe are included (for example, white goods / electrical appliances) will indeed be at the property.6) The Lease should contain a provision that, if the Management Company doesn't perform its obligations under the Lease, then the Landlord must do so. These obligations include repairing the structure, service media and common parts. Without this Landlord's obligation, and in the above circumstances, there would be no-one to deal with these aspects, making the Lease unacceptable.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that you decided not to proceed with your purchase from us due to your own and your solicitor's concerns over our legal paperwork. We do refute the nature of these concerns; these documents are in use across our development portfolio and have been acceptable to the purchasers and their solicitors of all of our properties across our portfolio for many years, and we have not subsequently had legal issues as a result.Inherently, as with any legal documentation, there can be differing opinions; but they are designed both for our buyers' protection as well as our own, and to ensure a smooth transfer of property to each customer. There are multiple clauses which effectively work together so taken in isolation can seem rather odd. We feel that either a solution or explanation was provided to your solicitor for each concern. There is now no ground rent to be charged at Watford Cross as we have altered this element of the arrangements in response to market changes in this regard, so your point 1 is no longer an issue; and the design / finishes will of course be as stipulated in our marketing material and as demonstrated in our show home, but we do need flexibility to swap an item if we face a lack of availability, for example. The contract also specifically stipulates that any variations that had to be made would not reduce the value of the property. We would be very pleased to have the opportunity to discuss all of the points you raise directly with you, so if you would like to do so, please contact the Customer Service team and they will arrange for the Sales Director responsible for Watford Cross to speak with you. Many thanks again for your feedback.

TrustpilotWho said builders can social distance??
Just walked past their building site on the Watford Junction bridge part of St.Albans Road in Watford. Dismayed to see 3 workmen outside breaching the social distancing rules, they were congregated by a car which was also parked illegally on double yellow lines, and even ignored a fellow workmate who tried to make them maintain the 2 metre rule. The rule is you can return to work if YOU CAN maintain social distancing, these workmen obviously CAN'T and should not be at work, and Weston Homes should not have their sites open if they are not enforcing the rule. The risk to the health of the general public is too great to allow this to happen.UPDATE: Based on their response...If you are so focused on working safely, prove it by enforcing it. Your builders still regularly breach the guidelines now, just walking by proves that. Either they are too thick to work out what social distancing is, or you let them get away with it. If you're incapable of managing SIMPLE guidelines maybe you should shut your sites!! Maybe it's down to site management, if so fire them.... we are in the middle of a pandemic, they are killing people!

TrustpilotLiving in a fire trap..........
Living in a fire trap built and sold by this company. Unlike some builders this company is not helping right it’s wrongs. Safety procedures legal at the time of build were not followed like cavity barriers in walls. Knowing now that cladding is a fire trap why are they not doing the right thing for the leaseholders.Having been asked to give more details on my situation and experience with this building company - I did so. No response from them, no email and more importantly no offer to put right any of the fire safety issues that they have caused......... disgraceful. Other builders have held their hands up and put money where they know, morally it should go - helping leaseholders to live in safe flats. Shame on this Company ...... I’d not recommend them.

TrustpilotWeston should not be allowed to build anything!
1. Weston Homes illegally sold our freehold without giving us notice.2. Lots of problems persist in communal areas and inside houses/flats. Problems such as leaks, failing mastic, missing seals, mould in walls, broken gates, paint that comes off walls, etc. If within two years, they will do a minimal repair to get you out of their hair. Some problems are hidden inside your walls, and if the problems happen after 2 years, Weston will ignore you even if it is clearly their fault.3. They lie to the government about how good their homes are. We've seen their letters to our Member of Parliament who advocated on behalf of the owners of Weston houses/flats.*UpdateI'm not sure what Weston intends to do with their reply to this review, since they have repeatedly refused to address any issues that were discovered after the two-year guarantee had expired.

TrustpilotCladding at their homes in Basildon…
Cladding at their homes in Basildon require attention but they have totally washed their hands and have told homeowners to pay the cost as they are not interested.I have been told, third hand, that at a recent residents meeting, a fire safety engineer was asked to confirm all standards were met at the time of building and he said he was not able to reply in the positive. I assume he therefore means that possibly not all regulations were met.

TrustpilotAt War with Weston Homes
We bought a property in July 2018 & realised that it had not met the appropriate planning permission after 2 years of emails & lies they admitted the breach but they have still not replaced the glazing to meet the health and safety requirements of BS8233:1999 or therefore met the planning condition. Bob Weston assured Brentwood Council he would resolve the issue but they are still not doing so. The issues with Management companies are another matter the fees charged annually to maintain the development have doubled and will continue to increase. I would never buy a Weston Homes again and I would beg anyone thinking of buying a Weston home to think again. The customer care team should be called the customer lack of care team they are simply appalling. They didn't build the cycle paths or provide play areas for our children they need to be brought to task! They have affected our health for 2.5 years & that of many others this is a development of 91 properties! They denied our case for over a year and that of 54 other property owners but now admit they lied to the Local authority about the products they were supposed to install it but will not work with us to resolve and the local authority and government need to take them to court and resolve the matter.

To top it off yesterday parked my car in our allocated space, there was a work van parked in the disabled bay to the side of our space. Returend to the car today to fine the bumper, light and quarter panel smashed, scraped and dented. Exactly the height of a van with white paint all over the front of my car. No note or anything.
