James Setright recently helped us purchase our property. He was very helpful all the way through the process. we encountered lots of problems with our solicitors and James kindly guided us in regards to what to do with these obstacles. He is very professional, kind and certainly patient because our purchase did take much longer time than expected. He responds promptly with our emails and was a good link between us and our seller. Avoid at any cost

If I could give zero I will! Awful experience starting from when they gave me the keys and then literally disappeared! Then the inventory was totally different from what I found in the house and when I contacted them they said contact the landlord we can’t do anything! Glad that the landlord was cooperative. Now after leaving the house it took them 10 days to send me the inventory checkout and I called them everyday and they gave a different story every day! Now I have been chasing the deposit for 1 month! Literally awful experience, avoid at any cost.

RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

Worst treatment

As a tenant by Vanet Asset Property Management (part of the John D Wood & Co Group), my comments for them are: just terrible!Such a bad treatment from one single agency. Staff turnover is extremely high, different agent each month. No issue log whatsoever, so you need to call them daily to make sure whoever picks up your case, will have the details. So many incidents where we thought our issue was progressing and being resolved, while in reality it wasn't!Forgetting/ignoring tasks, not even when it comes to deposit.Interesting to see what kind of training their agents go through? Do they know how to keep log of issues?Sorry but this is unacceptable treatment.

The process was very easy from start to finish, much easier than previous experiences we have had with rental agents. Imogen supported us through our offer, providing advice and updates at regular intervals which we really appreciated given the current uncertainty created by the pandemic. As a tenant who has had John D Wood as my lettings management for the last 6 years I can say that they are absolutely awful. They don't reply to emails, don't take responsibility, don't put out of office emails on so you can't get anything urgent done. I would never use them.

John D Wood in Wandsworth, and more specifically Shae Preece and James Setright, epitomise the worst traits of estate agents. Dishonest, unprofessional and incompetent. They incited panic in the chain unnecessarily, they downright lied on many occasions, they pestered all sides incessantly which led to numerous complaints, and when it suited them ignored all communication. Despite having no qualifications, they believed they were experts in surveying, conveyancing law and mortgages and unbelievably tried to undermine experts in these fields. They will do their best to ruin any house sale or purchase. Avoid John D Wood at all costs.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value
