I find yelp to be disingenuous

I find yelp to be disingenuous. They had removed several of my reviews which were critical of businesses , because the business complained. In other instances, they claimed that I had no firsthand interaction with the business, which was patently false! In still other instances, when I left a negative review for a business, the business would respond in kind by posting multiple positive reviews for their business, which were clearly false as prior to my leaving my negative review the only other review for that business was 18 months old. All of a sudden they have multiple positive reviewed posted on the same day? I call BULLSHIT! I then posted a few more negative reviews using other email accounts. Yelp responded by closing my account, saying I violated their policies. When I brought the fact that the business clearly fabricated multiple positive reviews in order to counter, my one negative review, yelp couldn’t care any less. No, they deleted my account, but they left the business owners, false positive reviews up. Therefore, I’ve concluded that all yelp reviews are shit and cannot be trusted.

Had a problem with a leaking water softener. Called and made an appointment for from 2 to 4 today. At 3:45 I called company and they said tech was done for the day. Told me they would try to reach him and call me back. Went out front door to find a bill from the company that problem was fixed and that "homeowner was not home." I called again and how the problem got fixed without me being home since the water softener is in my garage. They said garage door was open so they just did it. Two cars and an open garage door and they never knocked on my door? I have two dogs they would have been loud if he had knocked. Said he tried to call me but couldn't get ahold of me. Again why call when you can knock on the door? Asked them to have a "tech manager" call me tomorrow and was told "they don't call customers." The more I talked to the receptionist the madder I got. Worst customer service I have ever experienced

Suspended From Yelp for Writing an honest review.

I wrote a very honest review of an individual who is running a business dishonestly. When he couldn't get a permit because he lacked the necessary license in Massachusetts; He became hostile and belligerent and threatened to sue me for breach of contract, slander, defamation of character and anything else he thought was appropriate. He posted that as a response to my review. I have the letter from the Town of West Springfield detailing his attempts at trying to put one over on the Town. So what does YELP do. They suspend me and keep him. So much for fairness in reviews. As an added bonus YELP you have over 3000 complaints on file for suspensions without reason on the BBB. P.S. I don't want my account back now that I( know they suspended the wrong party.

Byer BEWARE BANKERS LIFE IS A SCAMER INSURANCE COMPANY!!

Byer BEWARE! This company is a scam. They are in Roseville. In 2021, I purchased a Policy with Bankers Life insurance. I was sold a Whole life policy. I spoke with the person who has been fired! And I signed and wet-signed the documents while this person sat in my home. Today I was called and told I surrendered the policy. I was sent a policy that said I signed. I have been making my payments, but it turns out I was sold a policy that is a scam; they put together some crazy document that is not what I purchased. They are still collecting my premiums, but I don't have a policy

Yelp has moved one of my first customers review to the “not recommended” category. They said that the software flagged it for some reason and they can’t undo it. She left a positive review and it’s not able to be seen. The high pressure sales tactics for their ad services are ridiculous! They just kept calling. Use Google.

Good food, poor service

My husband and I have eaten at Pha Khao in Racine, WI several times, and enjoyed it. During previous visits, the service was good. This time, it was the opposite. We arrived with another couple for an early dinner, but all the tables were full. The owner did not greet us, nor did he say how long we'd have to wait. Looking tense, he told a couple of teenage girls in black to vacate a table for four, and began cleaning it. The girls went behind the bar and began laughing and talking loudly. The owner gestured us to the table and we sat down, then he served water. Another teenaged girl appeared to take our drink orders. She looked grumpy, and was dressed in an overlarge t-shirt, baggy pajama bottoms, and what looked like bedroom scuffs. My husband tried to tease a smile from her, but she only lifted the corners of her mouth. The owner came out to verify my choice of Chateau Ste. Michelle cabernet, but he didn't understand which wine I asked for. He brought the bottle to the table to make certain, which was kind of him. The grumpy teen came back for our food orders: my husband chose Crisp Noodles with Chicken, and I asked for Shrimp and Basil Noodles. She entered our choices on a handheld machine, and left. The teens who were making noise behind the bar finally disappeared. Our food came in a reasonable time, except for my Shrimp and Basil Noodles, which somehow had turned into Shrimp Fried Rice. I refused that dish, and told the teen what I'd originally ordered. The owner came over, and I told him what had happened. He took the Shrimp Fried Rice back to the kitchen and put in my original order. It was served by the woman who was cooking, who had waited on us during a previous visit. The food was delicious. When we finished and packed the leftovers into to-go boxes, my husband went to the bar, called for the cook, and personally gave her the tip. It will be a while before we dine here again: by that time, perhaps the owner will find competent servers.

Don't waste your time on this outfit.

I have a home inspection business which I started about 1 year ago. I've received nothing but good reviews on Google and Yelp (I just had two). They are always wanting me to buy advertising which I have not done. Well, yesterday I just found out they removed the two reviews I had for some mysterious reason. When I asked about it I was redirected to a video and more info that explains the reasons you might have a "Non-Recommended" review (none of which apply to me) and that no employee can change it. You're not getting my business, thanks.

Trust Yelp? Hard NO.

Many reviewers comment that companies can pay Yelp for positive reviews or to remove negative reviews. Now comes my experience. Posted a Yelp negative review regarding Wayfair supported and supplied Yelp with 2 pages of documentation. Yelp removed the review. Yelp HQ #16459912. Yelp stated: “We're reaching out to let you know that our moderators removed the review you posted to Wayfair in Wilmette, IL because it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this physical location.” BUT, there was no physical location. None. Zip. Nada. It was an online purchase. So, Yelp’s statement was FALSE while it mysteriously and coincidentally removed the negative review regarding Wayfair. Which benefited Wayfair. Trust Yelp? That would be a hard NO.

Aggressive Yelp employees. Fake reviews allowed. Real reviews blocked.

Yelp employees are very aggressive with their sales tactics. I've had good customers leave positive reviews on Yelp and they never showed up. Whereas, non-customers have left reviews and Yelp had no problem leaving up their fake post. I think it speaks volumes that Yelp rates below two stars on Trust Pilot. Go figure.

I’m so irritated

I’m so irritated. I thought if I used Yelp, I might have better luck acquiring a high quality business to get my garage door repaired. To my astonishment, I felt I was getting scammed. First, I was inundated with potential spam calls. Then one guy came to the door and portrayed himself as a member of another company and did a very good job of it.

Yes I’ve Advertised my business on yelp for years I recently was contacted by an individual trying to scam our business i didn’t go for the scam so in return they left a terrible review on my business page well i reported it to yelp they refused to remove it so i ask them to remove my business from their site they didn’t do that they were very rude to me when i contacted support even though i told them the person was trying to run a scam and they are showing our personal address on the page after i told them they denied it as well i would not recommend them to anyone

A shady company that will find you and…

A shady company that will find you and put your business on their site with out your consent. it should be up to the buissness owner to make a listing, not be forced in to using them. my main issue is they keep hiding legit reviews! i have 32 reviews and over half of them are hidden. the only thing i can get out of them when contacted is "they were marked as spam or that user has only posted a single review". to that i say bullcrap! oh and they keep wanting to sell me upgrades and i tell them id rather my listing be removed or my review be unhidden. yelp sucks. and if i could give them -1 stars, i would. it should be illegal to do what their doing to people.

Took down 2 of my reviews on businesses because they didnt like what I said. Thats beyond bullcrap. What happened to freedom of speech? No website or person should be allowed to take down a review because they didnt like what someone said. Yelp, goodgle, and bbb have been unfair to me taking down my reviews and I've had it. ALL reviews should be up! Good or bad! Idc if someone cusses or whatever. Keep their review up.

This company feels like a scam and fishy, as it's trying to get more money from businesses. I run a computer business, and my customers have left 18 reviews till now. 17 of them are 5-star ratings based on their genuine experience with my work. However, within a few days, most of those reviews were moved to the “not recommended” section on their website.
