TrustpilotA Flawed Platform to say the least…
A Flawed Platform for Both Businesses and Consumers. Yelp is the worst platform to use for anyone seeking or providing trustworthy, reliable local services. Having experienced Yelp from both a consumer and a business owner perspective, I can confidently say its ecosystem is broken for everyone involved. As a business owner: The automated recommendation system is highly flawed. It actively hides or filters out genuine, hard-earned positive reviews from real clients, while leaving unverified negative rants untouched. When you try to reach out for help to fix these clear algorithmic errors, you are met with zero customer support and absolutely no human accountability. As a consumer: Because the algorithm suppresses legitimate feedback and manipulates visibility, you can no longer trust the overall ratings. It is impossible to find reliable, honest service providers when the data is this skewed.Whether you are trying to run a reputable business or simply trying to find a trustworthy service, save yourself the frustration. Look elsewhere for a reliable marketplace directory.

TrustpilotI had a conversation with a Yelp…
I had a conversation with a Yelp representative re: a picture they added to our Yelp Business Page. Our Business Logo had always been the only thing supplied to Yelp. I went on jut a week ago and saw a picture of my husband who died two years ago. I asked where they found the picture and they said I had supplied it to them. I explained that I would not have done that and the Yelp Rep. basically said I was a liar. This is absolutely the worst company I have ever experienced. Be very careful with your Chat GPT questions because they have a financial relationship with Yelp and base their answers on information from Yelp. Yelp is the worst!

TrustpilotYELP- DYING BREED
Honestly speaking, it's useless to communicate and rationalize with this organization. They talk about filtering reviews with their so-called analytical software which is complete trash. A customer posted a negative review on my business with a simular name but not exact but I got their negative review. Never done business with this customer and furthermore the address wasn't even the same. Only used my name with out checking everything. That review is still on YELP. Tried to fix this and 1 year later it's still on their. Put your money on GOOGLE or somewhere else. Yelp is a dying breed!

TrustpilotHorrible company
Horrible company. Yelp is a corrupt money hungry commercialized company. No actual value goes into it. More people go on it to complain more than say anything positive. Then based on how much companies pour $$ into it, it buries the reviews it wants VS what really matter. Dont get me started on their customer service, because it is nonexistent. Took them 3-4 months to get my company what we barely needed. Emails would be ignored, phones would be on hold for hours with nobody answering. If someone did answer it was never the person who can actually help you. So go figure. So done with them. Nobody should pour money into this stupid company. If people want to leave reviews, they should be natural, just like Google, not shoved or promoted.

TrustpilotNot a credible platform
Not a credible platform. My competitors are allowed to post negative reviews to harm a strong business and Yelp refuses to correct. Google is far more disciplined and responsive . Yelp 2 reviews, a1 and 5 star. The 1 is from our competitor from a state 1000 miles away that we have never done business in. On Google we have 50 5 star reviews with pictures from real customers

TrustpilotI recently posted a review online and…
I recently posted a review online and it was a legitimate review and truthful. When you review a company then it is your experience and whether it is a good or bad review a business owner should not come back to you confronting you in any way that is unprofessional. I had a business owner not only reply to my review online but to message me as well through email saying that I was bashing her company online and was nagging me for information as to who the experience was referring to. Yelp is a waste of time and there are reviews that are rated at 1 star with the customer's experience and yet those reviews are not targeted by some crazy rude response online. Fair practice is when you're not doing your job as a business then you need to shut down your business.

TrustpilotYelp is horrible
Yelp is horrible. I had an issue with wanting change my business web address and phone number wanting to update it. I updated it in my business profile, then went back the next day to find it hasn’t been changed and they locked my business profile, letting me know I had to call for customer support. I have called every day for almost a month now and no help this business bullies you into having a business listing due to some reviews that clients had posted even though I did not want my business phone number public. I run a very small salon and only advertise by word of mouth. They told me it’s not up to me it’s public info. Even though I don’t take walk ins and I’m not a public business. They are bullies and offer no help. Being worse the customer service people cut you off mid sentence and one hung up on me. They offer horrible customer service and are just flat out a company that shouldn’t be in business.

TrustpilotWhat good is Yelp
I wrote a completely accurate review on Yelp early in 2025. Since then I check to see if it is still up: because I'd like others to not lose thousands of dollars and not get what they paid for. Tonight I see that my review of Coatney and Sons mobile home movers is listed as 'Not Recommended'. And that now two other people have had extremely similar (same) experience. Also, there is a message box highlighted on their page and when I click it, I see that one of them reached out to me asking for communication. I got no email from Yelp, and the message is from many months ago. But I call the lady and it's the same story. They lost thousands and got no setup whatsoever. Yelp is absolutely useless! Why? Are they getting a cut from what Colin Coatney steals from people?

You don't know you need something until you go to use it. That was the case for us in wanting to open our windows and let the fresh air in. Screens, holes, slits, wear and tear. Did my research and as usual there are many so called screen repair business's that also do yard work, construction and so on. I like to deal with a company that does specialize in one area. That is why I chose Screenmobile. Easy to set appointment, price given on the spot, no guessing, set up install date. Zach and Matthew were great. Explained and offered any and all questions we had. Very satisfied. Don't go looking all over, this is the one stop you need to go with.

TrustpilotIf I could leave a negative five star, I would!
If I can leave a negative five star, I would! All yelp is, is the leech that sucks the blood out of every contractor they sign up. There is no vetting process for the contractors that they suggest to unwitting homeowners. If you're a homeowner and you're using yelp to get a verified contractor I would be very, very careful. Yelp is free for contractors to sign up and there's no vetting process whatsoever. They just make money off of the backs of hardworking contractors. Unfortunately, the only way to find a good contractor when you need work done on your home is to do the vetting process yourself, don't say I didn't warn you....

Eco Works landscaping has left his mark on us. Alexi is a one man owner / operator that has transformed our yard in to a backyard paradise. Cleaned & edged the beds added the mulch, beautiful!!! Then it was removing and transplanting the ornamentals (6) finally did some leveling where needed. We are so impressed with his methodical approach and focus on his work. Lastly the clean up was incredible. “He is now our guy” Thanks Eco Works!!!

TrustpilotCharging credit card after cancel. Robo marketing
The minute my add went live I wAs bombarded with marketers for Google from every state in USA. Of coarse this is charged to my account and I had the feeling it was yelp sales that instigated or made it happen so commissions would go up. In writing 48 hrs over 100 calls trying to sell me on use ng them as advertising. I was forced to cancel yet yelp charged my credit card after shutting adds off. Add was not on and still charging me. I had to cancel my card. Got no responses from yelp when trying to address the issues. Find another advertising campaign yelp is bad news.

TrustpilotHertz Rent A Car
Hertz Rent A Car - I rented from Palo Alto CA to Stockton CA. When I got to Stockton, apparently the agent in Palo Alto made an error and put that I was supposed to return the car to Palo Alto. The manager of the Stockton store told me it would be another $150. She said if I didn't like it, I could drive back to Palo Alto and discuss it with that agent. I paid the bill, called a taxi to take me back to my car. I later called Hertz company and complained and I did get an immediate refund of the $150 but the customer service in Stockton was horrible. That person who said she was the manager should be fired. I'll never rent another car from Hertz.

TrustpilotIt seems Yelp is simply a sales lead tool and spam generator.
It seems Yelp is simply a sales lead tool; my most recent posting for businesses to contact me ignored the request I made and simply messaged me to offer their services; many of the providers didn't or couldn't provide what I had asked for, they were simply reaching out to try and sell me what they had to offer in spite of my very specific request. The replies were basically spam messages.

Just recently I had posted my negative review for the business which was removed by Yelp as inappropriate (or something like that) with no explanation whatsoever. Obviously, the business reviewed by me is a paying Yelp customer, otherwise why would they "help" a bad business with their reviews. Yelp is as shady as they come. People's trust huh?

Yelp is as helpful as a blind security guard. Their version of reviews are awful, the only people whom bother to leave one are mad and post one on every review board. I hate that Yelp is attached to Maps, so you have to incorporate their slanted opinion when traveling. I generally look the Google Review up to ensure I am going to a good place, vs one that pays Yelp a bunch of money to have good ratings.

TrustpilotFrustrating and Needlessly Difficult for Small Businesses
As a small business owner, using Yelp has been one of the most frustrating and needlessly difficult experiences I’ve had with any major business platform. The site seems to make even basic tasks harder than they need to be, while giving business owners very little meaningful control over how their own business is represented.

TrustpilotYelp is dishonest and really a scam
Yelp is dishonest and really a scam. They give you “free” advertising money. Don’t tell you when that runs out and charge you large sums without ever sending a bill, just weekly charges. Only got 1 true referral and was charged $700. Do not use or trust yelp. You will regret it.

They do not care thats its Fraudulant, from an Ex-Employee, Spouse, or a Social Media post that wants to end your Company. This Company cares only about Money, paid by Companies like ours in the past.

Yelp is your typical big internet business. Unresponsive, don't care, they have their one-size-fits-all policies, can't resolve any problems, and just leave you feeling like you've just got f..ked. I paid them a lot of money and got screwed. They are the same as ALL the other companies, don't trust them, don't pay them. They may help out homeowners, but they screw contractors, and you'll likely get NOTHING out of it.

TrustpilotYelp over regulates and gets it wrong
Yelp over regulates, offering zero options to clarify. Specifically, I am a former owner of a business. The business changed hands and eventually the name changed. After my time as the owner, I became a customer. I left a positive review. Yelp has removed my valid review, and chosen to insist that I still manage the page, even though I have not for several years. I have notified them numerous times that I am no longer the manager of this business. To no avail. Why can I not easily sign off as manager? Why is there no inquiry form, to clarify? The over regulation actually makes Yelp less accurate and reflective of the truth.

They don’t tell you that scammers, or their own people, run up the user count. Constant scam phone calls that cost you. I don’t understand how they have not had lawsuits against them for such dishonest practions. STAY AWAY!!!

TrustpilotVigilanty custumz bad communication
Vigilanty custumz sells whip lights for the off-road vehicle market. They claim a lifetime warranty. I contacted them to have a 3-foot light replaced. After some difficulty in communication, Josh was very helpful, even volunteered to meet me to get the light, however, more lack of communication lead to mailing the light to him. Then silence. I have tried multiple times to reach Josh by phone calls, and texts with no success.

TrustpilotWe purchased a patio enclosure from Endless Summer Outdoor Creations llc of Wilmington NC
We purchased a patio enclosure from this company and gave a $5000.00 deposit on 7/28/2025. We made constant communication to Phil McGee from Aug, 2025 to Dec, 2025 on the delay in getting our patio enclosure installed. Finally on December 8 and completing on Dec 20, 2025. On Dec 10, 2025 we were left with a transom over the door without glass. It had to be ordered. So it was temporarily filled and sealed until the glass arrived. More communication ongoing. Finally on 2/11/2026, the glass was installed. On April 30th, 2026, we noticed a hole in the screen in one of the sections. It was apparent that the quality of material in the screening was under par. We contacted Phil immediately and sent him pictures along with the knowledge that we had been having trouble with the door catching at opening and closing and would need to be adjusted when they replaced the screen. We heard nothing until I called on April 30th to Phil as to why we hadn't been taken care of. His comment was they were slammed and he would get with his son Phillip for an answer. He returned a call to tell me that Phillip would be here this week August 24-28. As always, no follow through. No one showed up to repair the screen. We want this problem resolved as they promised they would do. They truly disappointed us with their lack of communication and follow through to our concerns. We are discouraged at the lack of support to the product we paid $13.400 for and still not resolved. We have been more than patient and have always kept communication open on our end throughout this project. A great company is one not only provides a service and product, but stands behind their commitment to take care of issues dealing with their product and service. We give them an F on communication and followup. A lot of time has gone into this project and we deserve a quick resolution to our issues.
