GoogleI had Daniel as my agent. We looked at a property and there were things we liked about it and things we didn't. We still wanted to place an offer because we saw the potential. When we were about to place the offer he informed us he's not going to take an offer unless we really want it and not looking at other properties. We informed we will continue to look. My husband really liked the property so I said okay lets put an offer in. The offer was not accepted. I called Daniel and spoke to him about other properties on the castles website that we were interested in. He informed me that that property was sold. That was 1st. Oct. Today is 5th oct and winters way is still for sale on their website. Not sure if Daniel just brushed me off with a lie because he was upset or if this property has been sold since last week and it's still there as for sale. Either way it's unprofessional. If the winter way home owners are eager for a sale he probably burnt that bridge, as it was more affordable for us.
Thank you for your review. I'm disappointed to hear this is your experience, we pride ourselves in providing a fair service. I am however glad you have explained your experience for others to see as it indeed shows that we take the selling of property and acting in our clients best interest very seriously. Firstly, I feel your first comment can be misinterpreted. I am not your agent- as you are not marketing a property through Castles, but looking for a property in the area with numerous agents. When talking about placing an offer (an official offer was never put forward) I mentioned to you to please only place an offer forward if you are 100% serious to proceed and that we expect you to not look at any other properties in the event an offer is agreed. I still stand by this-I certainly would not want a client to offer on a property if you are not 100% serious which could result in you changing your mind. I would not want to accept an offer on behalf of my client knowing you may be looking at other properties, resulting in you withdrawing your offer to my vendor in the event you offering on another property. This certainly would waste my vendors time. I'm sure if you were selling a property you would want your agent to do the same and cover all possible negative outcomes on your behalf? Eventually you placed an offer too low for my vendor. You then enquired on another property which as you stated was sold, this was correct. However, our vendor on this property asked us to keep the property online until a certain time, just in case, so we can register any potential interest, which would benefit the vendor in the unfortunate event the sale going abortive. You did not ask why it was still showing online, if you did I could have explained this to you. But again- thank you for highlighting how we work in professional interest on behalf of our client. GoogleI usually don't write reviews but I am quite upset. I had an appointment confirmed per mail at 1:00 pm to 1:15 pm to buy a property in cullings court, and a few days before the appoitment I got a call to check if I am still coming to the appoitment, and I said yes. I drove 50 miles to the property and waited 20 min and nobody showed up. I called then the office and the lady said the viewing is in 2.5 hours. I said no I have a confirmation email and on top of it, I got a call confirmation. She said sorry i can't find the mail but the person is now on a different property viewing and can't be there. I was upset and left. Considering I am a motivated first-time cash buyer, where the seller probably loved to get in contact with me. Today is the 3rd day and still, nobody called me to explain what happened on that day or to apologize if it was a mistake. So based on the reviews it looks like your agency delivers a good service. But if you start to drop the service, the success won't last long. I hope for you, I was the first and last incident.
Dear Dogan. Thank you for your comments of which I have investigated for you. I can confirm that an email was sent to you with the wrong time on of which we apologise for. When we called you to confirm the appointment, this was confirming the correct time of which we believed you had, but obviously you didn't. You mentioned you called the office on the day of the viewing (Saturday) and spoke to a lady. Unfortunately we do not have a lady that works in the office on a Saturday, so im not to sure what office you called, maybe the wrong agent? Google1st Class service from making an appointment to view a property, checking in to ensure everything was ok both Daniel and Tom seriously deserve to win the best Estate agent in the UK, and they should be both recognised as a team and individually. Always upto speed, queries answered immediately, liaising with vendor on my behalf. I just dont have the words but hoping 1st Class means the highest level of excellence. They did more work than my solicitor, who just took the money and did hardly anything. She couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone and tell me we had completed! Thank God Tom phoned to tell me. Highly recommend these guys to everyone. Both Tom and Daniel reassured me all the time, when I felt anxious and they made me feel calm. GoogleI recently completed a complex sale through Castles and cannot praise them highly enough. I mainly dealt with Tom who was exceptional, proactive is his middle name! He was always ahead of the game and knew exactly what was going on from all sides of the sale. Communication was outstanding with regular unprompted phone calls to keep me posted. This is a winning team! Personable and polite, Tom and Daniel do everything possible to take the stress out of what can be a stressful situation. Their local knowledge is brilliant and they fully deserve to be the No 1 estate agents in Waltham Abbey. For a first class service it's Castles all the way!

GoogleI went to Castles for a probate valuation for my late Father’s house. Tom came round to do this and the service I received was both very professional and compassionate. When we decided to put my Father’s house on the market, my brother and I went round to see Tom and he talked us through the whole process. He said they would arrange an open day and deal with any prospective buyers which was a great relief to my brother and I as selling our childhood home was going to be a very emotional process. Throughout the whole time the house was on the market, Tom would regularly phone to give an update which was very reassuring and whenever I contacted the office, both Tom and Daniel were always able to answer my questions. I would not hesitate to recommend Castles to anyone considering buying or selling a property and would like to thank Tom for dealing with the sale of our Dad’s house in such a sympathetic and friendly manner. GoogleEstate agents generally don’t have a great reputation do they? Well myself and my family needed to sell our house in order to relocate to another part of Essex and so I went into the process with my concerns. However I found Daniel and Tom at Castles to be very professional and up front throughout. There were one or two hiccups along the way (not the agents fault) but they were dealt with very well - buying and selling houses is stressful! I found them both to be very approachable and gave me straight answers. They were also very good with chasing up solicitors, liasing with the vendor agents and guiding me through the process. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

GoogleAwful experience. Daniel was very pushy in the valuation that he gave me. He even brought along a contract for me to sign there and then which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He was very unprofessional and even swore in front of my young children. I would never use Castles to sell my house after this experience and will be telling all my friends to steer clear. So because I have given you a negative review you are going to deny you ever came to value my home. I am flabbergasted by this and quite frankly offended that rather than providing an apology you would lie and deny that bad service was provided. I could perhaps understand that it may have been an off day for the valuer Daniel, however you would prefer to call me a liar by saying what I have written is false. Perhaps the attached photo of your valuation pack provides you with enough proof that you have been here. I would prefer not to speak to your office directly as this is who I have issue with. If you could please post contact details for your head office I would like to write to them directly. Yours sincerely a thoroughly disappointed Waltham Abbey resident!

They really are the best in the area, they are truly experienced in the housing market in Waltham Abbey and fully vet potential buyers. As such, they were able to present us with multiple offers so we had the pick of the bunch and the process after that went really smoothly despite being in rather a long chain. Having had such a painful and laborious experience with another local agency, I'd started to lose faith in estates agents. Thanks to castles, my faith is restored.
