I would like to thank Lesters for the excellent service they gave me when selling my mother's house. It was a long and difficult sale with two buyers pulling out at the last moment because of difficulties with insurance. Lesters took over from another estate agent after the first buyer pulled out and their representative Richard Lee from the Wallingford office worked steadily and patiently reassuring buyers about the quality of the house. When the second sale fell through he immediately contacted another couple who then went on to successfully complete the purchase. Everyone at Lesters have always responded quickly to any problems by email or phone and I would thoroughly recommend them as an efficient and caring estate agent.

Our experience was that Lesters (in particular Richard Lee) were responsive in the negotiation process; they reassured us they would not show other potential buyers around the property once offer had been accepted. They supported exchange process by keeping dialogue open with seller throughout a painful query process and dropped keys and flowers around on completion.
They also didn't waste our time with lots of upsell services. This local friendly, and supportive approach was very much appreciated. When we sell, we will be using Lesters.

My house sale wasn't straighf forward but as I was kept informed all the time, I had confidence that any issues would be sorted . Geraldine not only helped in the selling of my house. She also kept me up to date with properties coming up that I might be interested in. If I were to consider moving agin, Geraldine would definitely be my first point of contact.

We asked three agents to value our property. Lesters came in in the middle. We went with them based on clarity, their straightforwardness and gut feeling.
We weren't disappointed. Our first sale fell through, but that wasn't anything to do with the agent, it was because the buyer decided to buy a different house.
When spring came, we had lots more viewings, usually with Richard or Geraldine, both of whom are friendly, communicative and really know their stuff.
We felt that the negotiations for the sale of our house were handled well and always felt that we were treated well, and that our opinions and options were considered.
We like Richard, which of course helps and he was always clear with us and kept us informed. For various reasons, our sale was not an easy one for Lesters, but they dealt with difficult delays and situations (which were not their fault) very well and kept all sides happy and moving forward.
I would use them again and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone wanting to sell their house.

GoogleWe purchased a house through Winterbrooks recently. In the beginning they seemed very helpful and competent however the nearer we got to exchange and completion the less helpful they became. The chain almost collapsed due to their lackadaisical approach and lack of care for their clients. When we were chasing they told us they had text the solicitors and when asking whey they hadn't called they had no response. They were extremely unprofessional and we've since found they have this reputation across local estate agents and mortgage advisors.
On completion day, we gave the heads up to our selling agents and didn't hear from Winterbrooks for 2 hours so we're left without anywhere to go. When we finally receive we the call we advised we were 10 minutes away and they agreed to meet us at the property in 20 minutes. We arrived at the property 10 minutes later to find the removal men already unloading into the house as the estate agent had already been and gone. In my honest opinion I think it screams of guilt at their negligence, however what annoyed us the most was that they gave the keys to our new property to a complete stranger. They did not have the details of our removal firm so they could have been giving the keys to anyone! Not really how we wanted to start the move into our new house.
We will avoid Winterbrooks in the future. The undue stress that they caused throughout the whole process is not worth it and I certainly wouldn't recommend them.

I have read your review and I know Richard who you dealt with at the time tried to get in contact with you and left you a number of messages. Alot of our business comes by recommendation so it is particularly disappointing when we receive such a review. In answer to your points raised however, on moving day the completion time is actually set by the solicitors not us. So unfortunately the wait on the day was not down to our company. As soon as we received the call from the solicitor we were happy to drive out to deliver you the keys so you did not have to come Wallingford, as we had previously agreed to do. I am sorry we missed you on route, we handed the keys to your removal company outside the house so you could get unpacked as soon as possible. This was all intended to make the move as easy as possible for you on the day. The delays on the transaction as you know were legal matters, and not caused by us of course, but I am aware Richard spoke to you on a daily basis to keep you informed of these delays. We enjoy a good reputation and are genuinely disappointed that you feel unhappy with our service, I would however be happy to speak to you at any time to explain any of these matters in further detail and hopefully restore your faith in our service, Julian.
