TrustpilotPremier league fees for a national league service. Farrell Heyworth about 10 years…
Used Farrell Heyworth about 10 years ago and found them very good but how times have changed. I was promised the free use of a professional photographer but that didn't happen and the agent took the snaps himself. I told them I didn't want a notice board but when the property finally sold one was put up. There were numerous times I waited for a return call that never happened and on one occasion I was not informed of a viewing until after it had taken place. As for Curtis Law, their 'recommended' solicitors, they wanted £25 up front but when I had to change to another solicitor because the purchaser was also using them they would not return my £25. This is still outstanding after many reminders. I paid over £3000 for a second rate service and I will not be using them again under the current management.

TrustpilotTHEY DON'T CARE!
Goodness knows how this company have 5-star reviews, (as shown on their website) as the service I received on behalf of my 81-year-old mother has been beyond appalling. My mother’s fridge freezer broke between Christmas and new year. I reported the issue via the online reporting system on the 27th December, and was informed the office was closed as it was still the Christmas holidays. I finally received a call from a member of the lettings team on the 30th December to say their contractor wasn’t available until after new year as he was on holiday. Obviously, we weren’t happy about with the situation, but nothing could be done, so we had to accept it. The contractor eventually visited the property the week later, informing my mother that new parts were needed. Days drifted by with no update as to when these parts would arrive, so I chased FH to see what was happening. I was informed the landlord had authorised a new fridge freezer as the parts were difficult to obtain and that the contractor would place an order straight away for delivery asap. That was over 2 weeks ago and, in that time, we were promised delivery 3 times and 3 times we were let down - The appliance was finally delivered yesterday with no apology or reason for the delay from the contractor. This complete debacle would be frustrating enough for anyone, but my mother is 81 next month: she lives alone: has arthritis in her hands and feet - along with having had part of her lung removed last year, following a diagnosis of cancer - and suffers from COPD. The regular trips she had to make to the shops, for nearly a month, have been extremely tiring, stressful and mentally draining for her, not to mention the extra money she’s had to spend for fresh food! - I don’t live near my mother, so am unable to help regularly and when I’ve called to hear her crying, saying she can’t cope, it is most frustrating and upsetting. It is unfortunate that I have had to resort to expressing myself online, but I have now sent 2 emails to FH over the past week, firstly to ask for some kind of compensation from the landlord for the extra expense my mother has incurred because of the delay, and secondly to voice my utter dissatisfaction with the lack of customer service, care or consideration that has been given to my mother and her situation, and I have not received a reply!! It should be a matter of priority for Farrell Heyworth to ensure they have efficient contractors able to address tenants needs as quickly as possible, and that certainly has not been the case with this issue. I could have ordered and arranged for Curry’s to fit a new fridge freezer in a matter of days, so why this contractor couldn’t purchase the same sooner is completely beyond me. The service my mother has received from this company and their contractor is utterly appalling and not acceptable. They shouldn’t be allowed to trade considering how they treat their customers!!

TrustpilotWish I could rate 0.
Wish I could rate 0.Exited a property I had been a tenant of for almost 16 years and left my forwarding address, email and contact number.I set up redirect for my mail via royal mail however certain letters can't be redirected and were issued prior to the address update so of course went to old property.Instead of popping in mail box with no longer at the address or ringing me or emailing me to come collect the estate agent opened the letters which contained sensitive information and then emailed them to me.If you value your privacy avoid this agency.I rang was told the manager was on lunch then told she was busy.Too busy to talk about a team member who had broken the law as it clearly stipulates you can not open mail without reasonable excuse there was no reasonable excuse. The police and royal mail confirmed this as I had sought their advice to which the woman sniggered and said well it was human error.I don't accept that reason as you read who an envelope is addressed to what is written on front and act accordingly. As an agency they have many other faults I discovered having been with them for as long as we were.My advice no matter how good the property if managed by them avoid at all costs.

TrustpilotWorst estate agent I have ever used
Worst estate agent I have ever used, and that is saying something. On a viewing, they left a large window open. It let rain in and broke plaster off where it had blown open. They refused to accept responsibility. They try to get you to sell your house for less than it's worth so that they can get their fixed commission. They don't care how much they get you and will try to tell you that lowball offers are good and you should take it. They do nothing other than list on Rightmove for their money. I had 2 buyers pull out of a sale due to them not vetting the buyers properly. This took 8 months, costing me £1000s. On me asking them to stop selling my house after 8 months they charged me £210 for a deferred marketing fee and that I will need to pay their full fee if I sold to anyone they had introduced. I would have gladly paid £1000 not to deal with this company any longer. I sold it myself using the online estate agent, strike, for free. On top of that, I ended up selling it for 15% more than they had managed to! These so-called professionals are complete rogues.AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

TrustpilotAvoid this company like the plague
Avoid this company like the plague. Had a flat for sale with them, ready to walk into, refurbished, decorated etc. Had an offer after about 4 weeks, which I accepted. Buyer dropped out for whatever reason 2 weeks later. From that point on this agency gave me the impression they were not interested in selling the property. Said they would keep in touch on a weekly basis to advise if any interest--this never happened!! I had to chase them!! I eventually took it off the market with them and went with another proper estate agency. Had to pay their 'Digital Marketing Fee' of £199 plus VAT though!! This is an absolute rip off, no other agent charges this and their normal fees are at least 50% more that other agents. They over promise and under deliver. Don't touch this agency with a barge pole!!

TrustpilotFarrell Heyworth Fulwood office managed…
Farrell Heyworth Fulwood office managed by Chris Plumpton gave an extremely poor service which would not currently qualify for a one star review. The office claim that they introduced me to 11 potential buyers however I only did 3 viewings arrange by their office. It did a fourth view for a lady who had tried to book a viewing through this estate agent but after failing to achieve that after 3 weeks of trying she put a note through my letter box.At my valuation visit Chris Plumpton was told that I didn't want a for sale sign however 2 days later I had a for sale sign outside my home. I was away for a few days and came back to note that their office had phone my landline over 20 times over 3 days without leaving a message on my answer machine or trying my mobile phone or sending me a text or email. Farrell Heyworth don't seem to be able to use modern methods of communication. They appear stuck in the late 1980s with a largely can't help you attitude. My unwanted for sale sign was not updated when my property went under offer. Monthly requests to remove this unwanted sign were just totally ignored.

TrustpilotWanted to rate this company zero…
Wanted to rate this company zero stars!!Was told the office would touch base with us if no interest but we had no communication from them what’s so ever. This digital marketing fee of 199 on top of their 3600 fee was a total rip off as most estate agents have this included. We were told we HAD to have this so we can have pictures and a floor plan. We decided to take the property off the market as we were not getting any interest. A few estate agents thought this was unusual considering the location of the property. The photos were not the best either. Also the description of the property did not have the full details of what the property had, No coastal photos, even though I asked the photographer to include these. Also the only viewer we had was accompanied by a sale woman who didn’t even live in the area and didn’t know the location. Very poor service. Stay away.

TrustpilotIf I could give a 0 star I would
If I could give a 0 star I would! Went to market with this agent in Chorley in February after a convincing sales talk. Despite being told that they provide a ‘Premium Digital Marketing package’, which costs an additional £299 + VAT in addition to their fees, they assured us this would target the market across all marketing options and guarantee a sale. After the photographer had been we had to complain about the quality of the photographs and video, which in our opinion were unprofessional. They did offer to come back and redo them but arranging another session never materialised. In 4 months we’ve had no interest and no viewings. Even in the slowest market this seems unreasonable for what we consider a desirable property. The communication from the office has been very poor, and their only advice has been to reduce the price, which we did but still had no interest or viewings. When we notified them that we were withdrawing our property from them they said we had to pay the £299 + VAT for the Digital Marketing Service. I disputed this on the grounds that no viewings had been secured and they offered to reduce it by £199 + VAT!!Absolute disgrace for providing an unprofessional, unsatisfactory service!! Overall we are very unhappy with the service and would not recommend this agent to anyone.

TrustpilotAvoid at all costs!
I am compelled to share my experience with Farrell Heyworth to shed light on the unethical practices and ongoing deposit issues I encountered. It is disheartening to see an agency that falls short of their responsibilities and lacks accountability for their actions. One of the most distressing aspects of my experience was the unauthorized sharing of my personal information and the shady and dodgy third parties that Farrell Heyworth deal with. This breach of trust raises serious concerns about their commitment to safeguarding customer data and respecting privacy rights. They will come back to you with small prints to justify their shady actions. My complaint to ICO resulted in them being told to make it more obvious so they stop scamming their customers. Additionally, despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter, my deposit has yet to be returned and I'm sure many other deposits from innocent customers have been withheld as well. The prolonged delay and lack of response from Farrell Heyworth and the continuous blaming of the matter on their 'Third Party' partners is nothing but laughable, we are talking about a financial misconduct here. Their failure to fulfill their obligation to return the deposit is both disconcerting and disappointing.Do not trust any of their third parties whether they are solicitors, surveyors or conveyancers, they are all failing companies that will do nothing by waste your time and money, read online about the many cases of people becoming homeless and chains breaking up due to lack of commitment from Farrell Heyworth and the partners they recommended. It is crucial for them to reevaluate their internal processes, replace their Sales Director and enhance their commitment to customer satisfaction and ethical conduct. I mean the reviews speak for themselves. So far all I can see is a failing company that is using any trick in its pocket to make as much money as they can before going bankrupt. I would definitely not trust my properties with this estate agent.Potential clients and tenants should exercise caution when considering Farrell Heyworth as their service provider. My experience highlights their lack of professionalism and disregard for their customers' rights. They will ignore vital emails and blame it on their 'junk mail'. They were told off by the ICO who forced them to respond to my enquiries, and unfortunately that is your only way to deal with such a failing firm. It is essential to thoroughly research and consider alternatives before engaging in any agreements or transactions with this agency. In conclusion, I hope that sharing my experience will encourage Farrell Heyworth to rectify these issues and improve their practices. It is my sincere hope that future customers will be spared from the disappointment and frustration I have faced.
