TrustpilotProfessional and excellent
Zo and the team went to a great deal of effort to facilitate the sale of our property and the purchase of another. They excelled in our opinion when hurdles (not of their making) were reached and would definitely use them again.

TrustpilotDo not use Seymours, Worplesdon Road!
Do not use Seymours, Worplesdon Road! This is the advice (as I told the manager at the time) that I got from several people, but I failed to heed it because the current manager told me that the previous manager (with whom he'd worked) had now left the company. I said that I hoped that I'd have the sort of positive experience with them that would mean I could counter their poor reputation. How wrong was I! I had a horrible experience with these agents. When I instructed them the website showed four ex-staff members, but in fact there were only two members of staff throughout my time of advertising my property, in Oct and Nov 2020. No doubt they were over-loaded, but a nearby competitor also had only two members of staff, but at that time were handling three times the number of houses and maintained their good reputation. Seymours were inefficient, unreliable, inaccurate and not to be trusted. As an example of their many failures, during the increased risk and restrictions in Nov due to covid 19, and being in my sixties, I wanted viewings to be sensibly limited (I was doing my own viewings). My property has an unusual boundary at the front which puts off some buyers, so I instructed Seymours to ask anyone interested in viewing, and who was local, to do a drive-by first so that they could properly judge the unusual lay-out, after which a viewing could be booked. The following week Seymours failed to follow this instruction with the three potential viewers who made enquiries, so no viewings were arranged. I subsequently spoke to two of these three, after Seymours and I parted ways following this fiasco. One had never heard back from Seymours (even though I was specifically asking Seymours for contact to be made with them) and the other had a totally inaccurate scenario put to them by Seymours, which had annoyed them at the time. In getting hold of these people I spoke to two local small-time property developers. One said that Seymours were the worst agents in the area and the other said that if ever they were interested in buying a property and it was being sold by Seymours they sighed at the thought of having to deal with that agent and their inefficiencies. As mentioned by another reviewer, it was also clear (by something that the manager said) that they put great pressure on potential viewers to sign up with them, if they haven't yet got their property on the market. I told the manager that I disapproved of that practice.

Hi Lynn,Your feedback is very much appreciated. My name is Steve Darling and I am one of the Partners of the Seymour’s office on Worplesdon Road. I am sorry that you feel the team did not meet the service level that you required to sell your property. This is not the usual level of service I see from this team and it certainly does not match any other feedback we have had recently. Our new manager has made the office one of the best offices in the local area with lots of happy clients, so to hear this type of feedback is concerning and I would obviously like to get to the bottom of it. I will be speaking with my team on this issue and if you have anything further please feel free to contact me at the following email address. steve@seymours-worplesdon.co.ukThank you.

Trustpilot10/10
10/10 for every single member of staff at the Burpham office. The score of 10/10 is NOT for the fact that they managed to sell my house during a very rocky period in the house market, it is given for their HONESTY, kindness, friendliness, positivity, understanding and dedication. I cannot fault them in any way.

TrustpilotJoke for a letting agent
On moving ahead with our decision to rent a property through Seymours, time was of the essence. We found the back office support staff and process to be poor. Calls would go unanswered and promises of callbacks didn’t happen. Approaching a deadline to give notice or renew on our existing tenancy, we couldn’t rely on Seymours and therefore gave in. An appalling company to communicate with. I should have read Trustpilot reviews before going ahead. The negative reviews are absolutely correct.

The team were professional yet friendly and empathic. Very easy to deal with. We liked the fact that all the team came to familiarise themselves with the property and introduce themselves to us. TrustpilotWorst estate agency I have ever experienced
I have moved between rentals for the best part of 7 years and can honestly say that dealing with Seymours Surbiton & Woking has, on the whole, been the worst renting experience in my life.In our case, they showed little professionalism and seem to have regularly forgotten who the paying customer was. Some examples of the substandard service are as follows:1) Being told 1 working day before the planned and agreed move date that we may not be able to move because results from a gas safety visit hadn't been received yet, despite having 4 weeks prior to arrange for this.2) 3x maintenance issues reported in the FIRST week of the rental still not being fixed 12 months later, (including a mouldy window and a faulty electrical socket). Another window-related maintenance issue raised 4 months before the end of the tenancy which was categorised by a Seymours contractor as a "safety hazard" (due to dangerous, rotting condition of the frame) was not even close to being rectified by the time we left.3) At the end of the tenancy and following 3 weeks and numerous unsuccessful requests, we had to formally serve Seymour's notice to take them to small claims court in order for us to be refunded overpaid rent.4) On check out, the checkout inventory was completed and report no discrepancies or areas of concern compared to the inventory at the check in. However, Seymour's refused to give our deposit back stating that the landlord wanted to make deductions. We tried multiple times to engage in discussion and to this day, have no idea what it was the landlord wanted to claim for because we didn't hear back on any of our attempts to resolve the matter. Again, it took formal action (raising a dispute with TDS) to resolve the matter. On being notified of the formal dispute, they immediately sent us back the full deposit, issuing zero apology or justification for holding our money. I suspect they actually had no ground to keep any of the deposit but were rather 'trying their luck'. This is purely speculation, but this is how it felt to us as customers.TLDR; appalling customer service, terrible property management, favour the landlord over tenants (at least in our experience), zero integrity and total waste of our time.

The staff at Seymours Horsell are amazing. They know the local market very well and are able to price houses appropriately as they are based in the heart of Horsell. TrustpilotNightmare company
Nightmare company. My son has been chasing Seymours Camberley and Woking Deposits for weeks trying to get his security deposit back. They sent him a one line email claiming they were waiting for the landlord, but that’s a lie, the landlord confirmed he told them to return the deposit almost 2 weeks back, but Seymours have ignored even the landlord instructions. Totally unprofessional operation, based on this experience I would never use them.
Anthea · 1 March 2022
Agent replied · 28 August 2024
Dear Anthea, Unfortunately, I think that you may have been given incorrect information. We are unable to release a deposit or any part thereof without the agreement of both parties. The Landlord had not agreed to release the deposit in full, and therefore we were in no position to do so. The Landlord and tenant have now agreed deductions and the balance has been returned in accordance with the rules of the tenancy deposit scheme.Hopefully you can appreciate that we are bound by regulations and law, and that we will always do what we can to reduce any stresses. Reviews are very important to us, if you are now happy with the outcome and understand the process that we have to adhere to, perhaps you would consider updating your review and star rating. Thank you.

Seymour’s in Ripley have made the process of selling a house through probate so much easier than it could have been. Joe, Ethan and Ben have always been available to answer my many questions. TrustpilotA very poor letting agent
We have been repeatedly let down and misled. Several times they have insisted on fees being paid when some digging and checking of correspondence has revealed that we were not liable at all. They would appear almost at random after they relisted the property to conduct visits, on one occasion with absolutely no warning. I would rent from them only if I had no other choice, and I would photograph EVERYTHING, record every conversation, and get everything in writing. The only good thing I had to say is that problems were always fixed quickly, but I have recently discovered this was through a contractor! When we reported problems directly we were promised calls back which never happened. A real shame, as the landlord seemed lovely.

TrustpilotI found Seymours in Knaphill very good…
I found Seymours in Knaphill very good all round, from negotiating the contract, arranging viewings, down to the sale. I especially appreciated that there were no hidden fees and that the price I paid was for the selling price, as some estate agents slip in market price which is something you need to watch out for.I would definitely recommend Seymours in Knaphill.

TrustpilotGodalming team is absolutely worthless
Godalming team is absolutely worthless. It takes days to get a response back, if you get any at all. They don't answer their phones, and then when you finally managed to speak with someone a week later you're unable to view or discuss anything current. I'm pretty sure I could hire a 12 year old to do a better job than these people. Based on what I know as a buyer, I would never ever use them as a seller.

GoogleThe first house we bought was represented by John at Seymours and it could not have been a better experience. He was reliable, amazing communication from beginning to end, very straightforward so it never felt like we were having to play games. The pure competence he displayed made me so happy. Our house had some legal complications and if it wasn't for his constant updates and follow ups on all fronts I don't think our papers would've gotten processed in the time that it did and we might've had to pull out, so let's just say he saved the whole deal. If I am in need of an agent in the future he will be my first choice for sure!! Who knew one could feel so strongly about an estate agent?? Not me until now.
