Contacted to view a couple of different properties and never received a response. Whenever I’ve popped in or called them up the staff have been consistently rude and unhelpful. That’s just the start considering the horror stories I’ve heard from others about this dreadful company. Avoid at all costs!

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Been waiting since we moved in (9 months) to have a window fixed with zero compensation. We’re paying extra utilities all winter because a window won’t close. I call up about blocked drains and the response I get is not ‘I’m really sorry all your drains are blocked let us get someone out to check out what’s going on and maybe try stop your gardens flooding’ but instead they say ‘we can get someone there but if you’re putting random stuff down the drain you’re paying for it’Customer service is shocking and they appear now to care at all or trust the people that pay them every month. It’s been so hard to get anything fixed by them half the time it’s been easier to just fix it myself than even try and raise the issue.

Appauling service

Appauling service, can't speak to anyone, no one returns calls or emails and at the end of the Tenancy it's proving almost impossible to get my deposit back despite being told it will be paid in full. Depsite handing back the property in good order and being told I would get my deposit back in full, 6 weeks later I'm still waiting. I kept getting told it was being processed and even got an email saying it had been paid and was in my account (my bank confirmed this was not the case). No one picks up the phone, head office numbers listed on the web site are dead, when you leave a voice mail on a mobile no one gets back to you and I now cant get a repsonse to an email. This is the worst experince I have ever had when dealing with an agency regarding a tenancy. If you have any sense you would avoid this company

Would not rent from them again if my life depended on it.

Having rented a property through Carter Jonas and made several complaints regarding the state of the property, there lack of response regarding these complaints was just the push we needed to buy a house. It was only then did I receive an email asking if I would like to meet at the property to discuss repairs. Let’s be perfectly honest this wasn’t for our benefit. Having made arrangements to hand back the keys we took time off work and waited at the property, only to be stood up - yes people they didn’t bother meeting us to do the final inspection or take the keys. This lead to a formal complaint being made and guess what the only call we have received from them was to thank us for the high standard we left the property in and to say we would be receiving our full deposit back - they couldn’t even get that right - wanted bank details even though they’d been taking rent. Anyway a long story short I wouldn’t recommend them, I wouldn’t rent a property through them again. They were happy for us to live with black mouldy bathroom, broken fencing, unusable cooker hob, window seals gone, broken door latches and locks etc etc. oh and this property is owned by HS2 which makes this standard of living even more outrageous. We had a leaking central heating pipe, phoned the emergency number and as water sprayed out through the wall, I was told someone would be out to fix it the following day.

Superb!

Our experience with Carter Jonas was excellent. We had quite a few hurdles to overcome to be able to purchase our new home and Ed was always helpful and persistent in overcoming the difficulties. I feel we had a great relationship with Ed, he is friendly and was very professional throughout the process. All employees that I interacted with at Carter Jonas were polite and responded promptly to all my enquiries.

Fulham flat letting.

The re-letting of our flat in Fulham has just been completed following a schedule of re-fitting and improvements. Carter Jonas has provided excellent support and advice throughout. We found the lettings staff to be friendly, approachable and effective. We were kept fully informed throughout and the level of service and communication was continued by the admin.team once tenants were found. It is what one would expect from a long-established multi-disciplinary national property partnership.

AVOID at all costs. Still waiting to resolve and still no response from the below. Nearly 4 months now after handing the keys back. Terrible company.After responding to a request to advise carter Jonas how to help me, still no further in obtaining the rent deposit back. Total delay technics.Completely unproffessional company - Whilst trying to get my rent deposit back, the Senior Building Surveyor suggested, 2 unqualified statements. I am yet to have my monies back, or even paret there of.1, All electrics and data cables should be removed from the floors and walls. Seriously, this was part of the reason we rented the place originally. He had no idea what the landlord required either.2, 2 different cracks that had appeared in entire building was because the decorator had not even visited. I cannot believe he could even suggest this. It was obvious that the old building needing regular decoration, which we did, regularly. It was obvious the decorator had been in. If he thinks he is qualified, then I would check his training certificate, of course after 3 months cracks could appear in an old building. Because of his attitude, I will not be using Carter Jonas for any of my future ventures.I have just sent you an email, after your response. Awaiting a positive reply

Nice experience

I urgently needed to rent a flat when I was required to return to on-site working. Tanya Hall from Carter Jona's Oxford branch was really helpful with facilitating my communication with the landlord and providing useful information about the move. With her help, I managed to complete all the documents and secure the flat in less than a week, which saved me a lot of hassle. Avoid they treated me appalingly

I had a disgusting experience selling my house through Carter Jonas.Despite teliing them I wanted to keep my sale private to my neighbours, one month before my move they went round each house in my close, (apart from mine) with a A4 sheet of paper advertising a photo of my home and letting people know they had sold it, therefore disrespecting my need for privacy.Worst company i have ever had the misfortune to use.

I used a "partner" at Carter Jonas as a valuer for a statutory lease extension for a property that I own. The individual concerned wrote an initial valuation report in which I found (after spending ten minutes reading it) several mistakes. He was rather reticent to correct them, but did so after a bit of argument. I also had to argue with him in order to get him to lower the valuation estimate, which is clearly in the interest of the client in contracts such as this. During these discussions he said at one point "a few hundred pounds here or there doesn't make any difference." Well, maybe it doesn't matter to him because it's not his money, but it clearly matters to the client! I was not very pleased by his attitude overall, and his work (which is routine at best) was expensive, and careless. Would definitely not use Carter Jonas again.
