GoogleHorrible experience with them since they have took over the building that I was staying in. After I moved out I have been told that everything was okay and someone else has already moved in to our apartment. 3 months later I have received a bill to pay for cleaning after leaving the apartment unclean. (I left the apartment clean) considering I was there for 2 years and 8 months. On the report they pick out every single detail, and making it sounding much worse than it actually was. (i.e. finger marked window, dusty doors and radiators, moulded bathroom but it was only black spots on the silicone in the corners which is normal, etc..) It was never going to be brand new after nearly 3 years. They do not care about tenants at all.

GoogleHad my house let out for 2 1/2 years & had some great tenants within a week of being with them , only fault would be find your own maintenance guys if something goes wrong as the ones that they send charge the earth , this is as there’s a surcharge on top of works for the agents

What I can say about the tradespeople we work with is that we look for those that offer the best value for money rather than being always the cheapest. They are suitably experienced and qualified where required and all will be correctly insured. We have worked with many of the contractors for several years and are confident they will do a good job for our customers at a reasonable price.

GoogleGood work from this team over the period of my lease. Only 4 star because there was an issue to do with a faulty gate which i think they managed ok within their circle of control but can do better.
Hi Sam, we all remember the problem with the gate which was frustrating for us all. We were in the hands of the installers who weren't as responsive as any of us would have liked but we didn't let it drop and got there in the end.

GoogleNot communicating. Standing on landlord said always, so whatever landlord saying they do. They do not care about tenants. I terminated the contract because of moving country and relocation from work. I informed them 2 months before. Fist they said that I need to find someone on my place so I did than they started to take money. I paid fee 350£, rent until 3rd September when I moved out on 21st of August. They ask me "because of la dlord said" to pay rent until 16th even if I found for them new tenant. After deduction from deposit they sent gardener without informing me and charge 110£ more for that because of landlord wanted. Do not trust in any word they saying. I thought is good agency but unfortunately same as every.

GoogleThe move went really well, especially because it was already decorated and new carpets so all I had to do was put all my furniture straight in the house, I would like to say I’m settled in straight away I’m really happy with the house I love it and hope I can stay there and be happy, the house will be looked after as I’m making it a home Thank you for the help the process was straightforward which I was worried about, but I’m so happy in the property good location I can’t th thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to make the house a home.

GoogleRent from them at your own risk . They hold you deposit and find every excuse to collect from it by finding silly faults. I lived in the house for 4 years and they expect no wear and tear. All i can say is don’t expect your deposit back complete no matter how hard you try
We always allow for fair wear and tear. Having to hold tenants accountable for issues at the end of a tenancy is incredibly time consuming and of no benefit to Martin & Co whatsoever, we would much prefer that tenant's leave properties clean and tidy without damage. All deposits we take are held within an approved deposit scheme and subject to legislation about what can and can't be claimed for, we need to provide suitable evidence for any claim to be successful. Claims for "Silly faults" would be rejected by the relevant deposit scheme, we much prefer to have full deposits returned at the end of a tenancy which is the case for the majority of tenancies where tenants have looked after the property

GoogleI have been dealing with Martin and Co for at least the past 18 years with rental properties and have always found them to be efficient, fair and attentive to customer needs. I have just sold a rental property with them. Nick has constantly kept in touch with any progress and has gone above and beyond what is required of him and for that I will always be grateful. The other staff at both Hanley and Newcastle have always been great too. I could not wish to deal with a better company. Thank you.
