GoogleMyself and my wife viewed a property with Goodchilds and put in a offer of £10k above the asking price after viewing, the person that was at the property stood at the gate texting on his telephone in the time that we viewed and we found him quite rude.
After putting in the offer we waited 7 days to see if the offer was accepted and was advised to put a higher offer in which we did to £15k above so the next day ie eight days we had a call at 5 pm to say that our offer had not been high enough so we lost out.
What was so frustrating we had viewed other properties during that week and lost out on them because we were waiting for the outcome from Goodchilds .

This is by far the worst estate agent in leicester, don't use them, there is no communication, dont lead by example, no call backs, no feedback from viewing, and your property wont sell, find better agents instead of using these guys, avoid at all cost

TrustpilotLincoln: Always a faff
Lincoln branchAlways a faff trying to get anything done - it's rare I'm able to get a reply to an issue on their 'Fixflo' ticket system within a week, or get it actually sorted. They don't seem to care about issues with our house, also the landlord's fault as he doesn't want to pay for anything, but we have been living in some poor conditions for over a year and half but Newton seem to only care about the rent we're paying so they can get their letting agency commission. They insisted on a house inspection during full lockdown in early 2021, when we objected they gave it the old "Oh it'll be good for you as a tenant" yet any issues raised during the inspection have never been fixed.I can go on and on but let's just leave it at: AVOID.Hate this agency and I am not looking forward to the struggle of getting our deposit back when we move!

GoogleGoodchilds is the best Estate Agents I have ever come across. They are very professional, helpful in helping me buy my home. They recommend a good and trustworthy financial advisor and even helped me pursue my solicitor to speed up the transaction. I will definitely use them again and strongly recommend them. Thanks to the entire team.

TrustpilotAbsolute waste of my time.
Was booked in to view a house at 1745, drove 80 miles from West Yorkshire to Grantham and arrived bang on 1745, location of house was difficult to park without blocking in so parked just around the corner, walked to the house only for the owner who was sat outside in her car, to tell me the estate agent was inside showing someone else around. As it was raining I told her I’d wait in my car for them to be done, I even texted the estate agent to tell him to let me know when it was ok to come view. I received nothing, so at 1805 I went back to the house, rang the bell to be told by the same lady owner that the estate agent had left and she had even told him I was there waiting. I rang him and his phone was off. So no viewing and a further 80 miles home. Unprofessional and very rude to waste my time like this. It’s fair to say I am far from happy and the seller of the house was unhappy also. I await the phone call and apology of this person that I am owed.Called the following morning to be told Gavin would call me back, he called me back and then told me he was at the property with the agent and was sat in the car, and the agent got into the car and informed him the 1745 was a no-show. So basically i described the scene to Gavin when i arrived, we both know the truth here, yet he said he was going to speak to the seller and agent. no apology, no further response, and basically a dishonest lying estate agent who said the 1745 was a no-show when the seller had told him i had arrived and was waiting in my car. And for anyone who might think there is a mistake, this is two people in 2021 who are looking to sell something and neither bothered to call my mobile to see where i was. thats the level of interest estate agents have at the moment.

GoogleThe female employee who called us earlier to provide information about the house we applied for was very rude. We asked her to spell out the address because we couldn’t hear it properly, and she hung up on us, saying “for God’s sake.” Unbelievable…

TrustpilotI wanted to view a property but…
I wanted to view a property but initially was told they had too many viewings so I could not see it . Then Carolyn tried to qualify my financial position, I queried why as she had just told me I could not view the property, she was able to make an appointment for the next day .she then insisted that I email her a copy of my AIB In order to confirm the booking. The whole conversation stank of sharp practice so I refused to send her my financial details and bought elsewhere . I have recently sold a property and would be very annoyed that potential buyers were being put off in this way . Please avoid as a buyer or a seller .

I rented a flat from this company for 17 years, never missed a payment, I had to move out because of landlords change in circumstances, so I left September last year, now I have been asking for my bond money back, they keep finding excuses, I have tried to reach out to them, I don’t recommend this company for renting, I am very disappointed

TrustpilotAppalling service at Lichfield Office
Appalling service at Lichfield Office. Not a buyer but a renter. Sent requests to view that were never answered. Left voicemail messages for someone to get back to me as I was interested in a property - they never called back. They cancelled a viewing because they didn't have the keys. Left me waiting for 30 minutes because someone forgot about the viewing. When I did finally view a property and send in an application form, they rented the property and never told me so I was waiting for over a week to see if I had got the property. They are the type of agents that give agents a bad name. Useless.

TrustpilotLincoln Branch Poor Service & bad attitude
If I could rate this company 0 I would. This company 'manages' my daughter's property; the level of service in my opinion is appalling. It even took them 76 days to respond to an official complaint, I think that says it all.Despite their services no longer being wanted, due to the poor service and strained relationship, they are insisting on managing the property until July next year, or to be paid until that date. This is despite the fact that they only have an incomplete, undated, signed terms of business. They are stating that this is a legal contract. How an un-dated piece of paper that does not even state what service they are to provide constitutes a legal document is beyond me. Money will now have to be spent on legal fees to deal with this estate agency. I wish I had read all the other bad reviews on this company, it would have saved my daughter, time, money and effort that it is now taking to sort this mess out. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

TrustpilotPoor Client Service Delivery
I contacted the Grantham office three times, once able to get through by phone and was told I would get a call back, I did not. Twice via the online chat and was told my message would be passed on and I would be called back. Again nothing. I want to register to buy a property - it appears there is zero interest unless you have a property to sell. I would be cautious using them for either after this rather bad first impression. I have also tried to call but no-one picks up the phone.

TrustpilotVery Very Bad, Do not dare to use
Very Very Bad, do not trust these people to sell your property. I am writing in reference to the Newark office. They failed to sell my property and then wanted to charge me £300.00 for sale fees to cover reasonable costs, all they done was took a few terrible pictures. They never accompanied any viewings and tried to send people to view my property through lockdown, which is really terrible practice breaking all government rules. Now they are chasing me for the £300 that there was no mention of when signing the sales contract. They are really terrible and very pushy, please please do not use them.

TrustpilotVery unprofessional and poor
Very unprofessional and poor. Never deal with this estate agent again. I had travelled all the way from birmingham to see a property in birstall leicester. The lady when booked mentioned yes its booked an you will be first one viewing this property. When i arrived nobody was present. I had rang the office to be told this property was sold. Even though i had rang two days before to book viewing. Really bad. The personnel on the phone did not even know what property we were speaking about even though it was showing on right move. Just really bad. I would advise anyone going to view a property from this estate to not to bother or i would be even concerning selling my property with you guys. Awful

TrustpilotAfter arranging 2 meetings and not…
After arranging 2 meetings and not turning up for 1 of them and then cancelling the other at very short notice, we were told that the MD would ring us to rearrange. He did not call us back despite numerous calls to his mobile and office. I rang the office to be told that MD wasn't available to speak to. I complained about lack of communication and then suddenly with no introduction MD was on the phone and said he could sense tension in the air and lets leave things and go with someone else. Strange thing to say when we were not in receipt of their services. They claim to have left messages on house phone but we don't have an answering machine. Wouldn't recommend this firm to anyone selling their home as they don't get back to you and make all sorts of excuses why not.

Arranged to view a propoerty in Leicester yesteday, travelling all the way from Luton, Befordshire, finding that the oweners had gone on holiday. When calling the Oadby office, we got a flipant response; " that is unfortunate", something that anyone have an argument over after a hour & a half road travel. But requested the agent who arranged the viewing to call back as soon as she came off another call. We are still waiting for an apology today.
