The St Helens office recently handled the sale of my family home following my divorce. The house was sold within 4 months and the service provided by the whole team was excellent and extremely efficient. However, praise must go to Sue Bradley who went above and beyond to support me emotionally during the process and made a difficult time for me a little less stressful.

FacebookGot caught in a down pour in the town centre and a gentleman who works there took my baby I to the shop to keep her dry whilst I ran and got my car, he then held an umbrella over us whilst I got her and the pram in the car then gave me a towel to dry off. He didn’t need to do any of that but chose to make a stressful situation far less stressful. Thank you so much should I ever need help selling my house I know where I will come.

GoogleAs a landlord they offer a dismal service. Where do I start? Very responsive at the beginning, but once you hand your money over that stops. They take days to get back to you and you must do all the chasing; there were several times where I would send THREE emails about something before I got a reply. I had to increase the rent my myself after doing my own research. Jobs didn’t get done - one job they said they did, and after 3 weeks of chasing them, they admitted they forgot. I was ALWAYS chasing them; they don’t do anything at all except take your money. Then to top it all off, when my tenant handed in their notice, they DID NOT tell notify me until a week later, so instead of the usual 4 weeks’ notice, I only had 3 to get a new tenant in, how can they not realise that is would be a priority?? When I decided to move away they didn’t even do the final inspection properly. The photos were of very poor quality and I didn’t notice that my house had been damaged. I only found this out from the NEW letting agent, as they did a proper inspection and showed me all the damage the tenant had done, but by now, the keys had already been handed over. Negligence at its finest! They also sneaked in extra fees about halfway through my term. It was all legal, it was just sneaky, and I missed it because it was just a one liner hidden right in the middle of a usually boring email. You could blame that on me, but really, if they were transparent, they’d have sent a separate email about it, or opened the email with that instead of hiding it halfway trough. Shady sales tactics stay away.

GoogleIf I could rate this company 0 stars then I would! We moved into a property in St Helens with our 3 month old son and less than 10 days in to our tenancy we reported damp in the main bedroom. Fast forward two years (and a lot of complaints and sleepless nights) and the house was full of mould and damp. Our belongings were ruined and we were told that black mould isn’t dangerous!! It took us handing our notice in for the MD to get involved who, on a visit to our home, advised that photos were all well and good but he needed to see the mould (we had to get rid of our wooden dining room table and chairs due to the mould - we weren’t prepared to let our now two year old eat at a table like that). We were also obviously trying to remove the mould daily due to having a toddler! We have literally been told to wipe down our belongings, and that when we move into a property without damp all “should” be fine. Our son potentially has asthma (he was given an inhaler weeks after moving into that property) and so our confidence isn’t great! Stapleton Derby have basically washed their hands of any responsibility and we are yet to receive even an apology from them!! We moved out in November 2023 and the property has only been advertised for re-rent at the end of January 2024 - yet we were told the property was habitable?!? Beware of property for rent in brynn street st helens

GoogleI wanted to let something from them yeaterday, went to the viewing and I said I need it, I want.to put down the holding deposit. She said, ok call the office. I did and I said the same, I need it and where to send the deposit... they did not let me do it, took my number and name, and promised they will call me back same day. No call from them. Today I called them and they played the dumb, and they said someone already put down the holding deposit. Ridiculous Too bad I can not give 0 stars

FacebookWe purchased our home through Stapleton derby and found them to be a profession company who went above and beyond in supporting us with some legal issues within our purchase. Hayley in particular kept in touch regularly and supported us in liaising with the legal teams involved, we couldn’t have stuck out our purchase without her. We asked to see the house on a couple of occasions and it was facilitated by Ken without any problem at a time to suit us. We would highly recommend Stapleton Derby as an agent, if we ever choose to move again we will be using Stapleton derby in the future.
