I instructed H&W to sell my property. After they had started, I discovered that they did not use Rightmove to advertise properties (despite emails from the Sales team containing the Rightmove logo). After nearly 3 days of debating this and chasing them, they finally used another estate agents to list my property, causing confusion to buyers. I was unhappy with how they were marketing it and requested to cancel my contract with them. In response they effectively told me that I was wrong and lied to me about how it had been marketed. I again, requested it be cancelled and I received the most rude, obnoxious email from Christina which effectively told me that I had no idea what I was talking about, just to let them get on with it, told me I had no honour and even brought my current employment into it! I'm so upset with the disgusting email that I had that I have now completely blocked their numbers and emails.

As first time tenants we have found all of the tools and information provided to us beyond useful, making it really easy to set up at our new residence. GoogleI used this company for both the selling of my own property and negotiating the buying of my new property. The whole process throughout was done in a friendly happy and efficient way. Darren with his photography does a great job and is involved throughout. He is backed up but the other members of his team and Angela does a great job keeping us informed as to what is happening and if the need arises giving solicitors a gentle reminder. A first class service from start to finish and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We paid all of the fees as requested but didn't get a lot of help for the amount we paid. We were not told where the bins were and on what days the bins were emptied. We were not given information regarding which companies were registered for the gas and electricity supply. We were not told which company owned the internet/broadband. The lock on the washing machine was broken on arrival so nobody had checked it. There weren't and still aren't any instruction manuals for the dish washer, washing machine and cooker. Less than average service really.
Hi Carole, Thanks for your invaluable review, it helps to keep standards high. Our fees are for referencing, and go towards the many administration works that need putting in place to bring a rental to fruition. We are obviously always happy to help tenants with all aspects of renting a property. Your rental is very close to our office and we did say on move in, 'please pop in if you have any problems or questions.'We did inform you of whom the electricity had been moved to as we do on all move ins. Unfortunately the meter is broken, awaiting repair as we noticed that the meter was broken on the previous Tenants check out. We have informed the electricity company who have said they will be out to fix the meter shortly. The washing machine door was checked on inventory, but could not be checked on a wash mode. The previous Tenant had not reported any fault. Landlords do not always leave manuals, however we are happy to google and e mail these. As stated in you move in you may instruct your own providers for utilities and broadband etc. We do usually inform tenants of bin collection days so we are sorry if this was missed off of the move in information. If you have any further questions please do pop in to the office. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and trust that you will benefit from this here on and again. The inspections are thorough, although some of the advice given has been insulting and demeaning. There used to be considerable delays in getting work done when this was passed on during inspections and hence considerable delay in getting authorisation from the landlady. However, with the launch of the web reporting this has improved significantly. Apart from this, the service has been attentive and responsive. I don't know if this is typical of letting agents as it has been my first time, but it is certainly a benchmark to be reckoned with.

The system they use to keep me up to date with inspections and maintenance progress really keeps things clear and up to date and I can relax in my home knowing there are no surprises coming. Hythe & Waterside have been the letting agents for my cottage in Hythe since I decided to let it back in 2010. In the intervening years the property has never been empty for more than a few weeks. Following a 6 week void over the summer (the longest ever) the property is now re-let to just my 3rd tenant in 7 years.Hythe & Waterside have always offered good advice and do an excellent job managing both the day to day property maintenance issues that inevitably arise, keeping on top of and advising me in relation to annual recurring activities like safety checks and especially in dealing with the more complex issues that arise during the transfer of tenancies.My thanks to all of the team at Hythe & Waterside for a job well done over many years and yes, I do recommend them.

I have booked with Hythe and Waterside many times through there subsidiary Holi-let’s when looking for short term holiday let’s. I have hasd contact with many of the team and found them to be helpful and courteous. On this occasion we were staying at 11 Sir Christopher court on a weeks holiday. The booking was easy and the staff were helpful when I contacted them with a few queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and look forward to returning.

I viewed a property with Darren last week in Hardly. Although the property was not exactly what I wanted Darren was extremely helpful friendly and professional throughout my viewing. He went out of his way to arrange another time for me and my view the property as well. A credit to the company.
