GoogleThere are far cheaper ways to sell your house, particularly if, like me, you MUST sell your house, not just "testing the market". Under those circumstances a much cheaper "up front" fee sales arrangement (around £800) is the one you need. Unfortunately, despite Morfitt Smith knowing we HAD to sell our house (we were definitely buying another house) the valuer, John Morfitt in fact, recommended me their £2100 "pay on completion" sales package. These days, in 80 to 90% of cases, it`s Rightmove and/or Zoopla which sell your house (not the estate agent), and because of that, plus we`d put our house on at a realistic price, it went straightaway. Thus Morfitt Smith really didn`t have to do much work at all for their £2100 fee, but despite that they were adamant there would be no discount whatsoever.

Thank you for your review of morfittsmith, although, your comments do seem to focus on our fee rather than our quality of service. I note that from your communication directly to us that you had no complaints over service, more so that you feel we “SOLD”your home too quickly having found a buyer and achieving a FULL ASKING PRICE offer. The offer was then financially qualified by ourselves and taken through to completion within a short timescale, due to our constant sales progression and liaison between conveyancers. Had this not happened, would the sale have proceeded as smoothly.
I note that you would have preferred an “Up Front” fee which unfortunately we do not offer, neither do most other High Street agencies, and I refer you to the comments on Sheffield Forum in reply to your thread with regard the benefits of High Street over Internet Agencies. Briefly, to summarise, we were instructed by you to sell your home, which we did, finding a buyer and taking the sale through to completion. With regard the fee, I see that your account remains outstanding.

Like I said, quality estate agents and for all you folk reading this, there is two sides to every story and it's my word against his but is it really worth the risk with the most expensive purchase you will ever make. In Response to your review , we are very sorry that your offer on the property wasn't accepted . Due to huge demand this property had to go to best and final offers. This we feel is the fairest way for all parties concerned, everyone had a fair opportunity to provide their "Best and final " offer and their buying position. Disappointingly for you the vendor had decided to accept another offer for various reasons, this was completely the vendors decision and one we have to respect .

GoogleMy flat experienced a water leak that I reported on 12/06/23. Morfitt Smith kindly sent out a contractor the same day, who neglected taking responsibility for the leak. It wasn’t until 4 days later, following an email I sent outlining the estate agent’s contractual obligations, that they actually sent someone to repair the leak. By this point the water damage to the interior of the flat was substantial. I received a lot of misleading information from Morfitt Smith, and to this day (28/06/23) the damages to the flat have still not been fixed. I still have no hot water in the shower. I have damaged walls, damaged carpet and a hole in the ceiling. Despite my best efforts to get this resolved, I am left let down and completely disappointed. My experience has been unfortunate, and I appreciate that this is an isolated case, but I do not feel like MorfittSmith have respect for me as a paying tenant. I would not recommend this service and if I had the choice I would move out to avoid the anxiety of having to live in such a disaster of a property.
