I had scheduled a viewing with Spencer for the 30th of October with the intention to purchase. Living near London, I drove up on the 29th of October and stayed overnight to attend the viewing on the following day. However, to my disppointment, I received a call from Spencer on the morning of the 30th, informing me that the property had already been sold. This is highly unprofessional. They should have conducted all prearranged viewings before finalising a sale. This situation caused significant inconvenience for me, considering I drove for nearly four hours and stayed overnight. Given this experience, I am uncertain about using Spencer's services for buying, or selling in the future, and I would encourage other potential vendors or buyers to carefully consider using Spencer.

When it came to selling our property we simply choose the nearest one. Unfortunately that didn't work out. In the meantime we had viewed a property to buy through Spencers. Lizzie showed us around and proved very knowledgeable about the flat and the block. We looked at other flats in the same block through other agents who were unaware of information Lizzie had given us. In the end we decided the location wasn't right for us. But we were impressed with Lizzie and changed to Spencers for our sale. They found a buyer on the first day of viewing. We also ended up buying a flat through Spencers. The whole team were brilliant at helping us through what became a complicated process. We completed 5 months ago and are now using Spencers again to sell a relatives house. If only all estate agents were as professional.

I was going to leave a better review but seen as they’re attempting to take a huge amount of our deposit I’ll be totally honest. Throughout the year we’ve had many problems with the property including leaky ceiling which took a number of weeks to get fixed. A problem with black mould which they attempted to blame on one of the tenants for (there was a missing brick). A mouse problem aswell which we were blamed for without them even coming to assess the property (they’re still there). In general we all felt as if we were a low priority as the attitudes of staff which I won’t name was dismissive and lacklustre. Be careful if you are a student using this estate agents as they think they can get away with low levels of care, effort and decorum.

A really outstanding service from initial dealings with Chris and his valuation (the valuation and price achieved was significantly higher than I had expected), through to superbly organised accompanied viewings (all the team) and Lizzie's brilliant negotiation, advise and management of the process right through to completion day. I've bought and sold an unusually large number of homes (due to a job requiring lots of moves) and I have dealt with a significant number of estate agents, but Spencers far exceeded my expectations and previous experiences!!

Lettings: Unfortunately Spencer's lettings team are very good at getting the letter agreed but not at ongoing rental management. Every repair will be require a couple of months of chasing, and will be completed with the cheapest possible solution, resulting in serious damage that could have been avoidable. I'd recommend any landlord to seriously consider other options for the sake of their property.

I would highly recommend using Spencers. Excellent service throughout the whole process. We had a bad experience using an online agent that culminated in our first sale falling through. Spencer's got our property back on the market quickly and sold within two weeks (for more money too). The agents know the local market in Sheffield, they are easy to contact and they are proactive in completing actions agreed. Competent and professional, exactly what you need in the highly stressful process of selling a house.

Spencers helped with the sale of my property on Tylney Road Sheffield. They were fantastic from start to finish. We achieved the price we needed for our sale. They resold our property within a couple of days achieving the same price after the initially buyer pulled out. They kept me regularly updated throughout. Spencer didn't feel like a regular estate agent and we have since been recommending them to anyone thinking about selling their property. The team helped us negotate the sale of our house and also the purchase of our forever home. From the initial contact and valuation with Chris, and then onto arranging wonderful photography to the end sale, the entire team have been brilliant. Our negotiator Lizzie, have been particularly incredible throughout by going above and beyond with clear, concise and down to earth advice through the buying and selling.
