You rarely hear the word excellent associated with estate agents but Amelia Adams at Preston Baker Headingley could not have been a better person to handle the sale of my house at such a difficult time. There have been many difficulties during the whole sale process which had nothing to do with the estate agent but Amelia has always been supportive helpful and encouraging. She has gone over and above what is normally expected and has been a key link between buyer solicitors and myself during the whole process. In fact everyone who I have met in the Preston Baker team from the start of this process which started at the beginning of the first lockdown could not have been more helpful. I highly recommend Preston Baker as a very professional and yet helpfully human estate agents.

Decided to go with the Moortown branch of Preston Baker to sell my flat on the 17th August (despite currently being rented out and managed by another estate agent). By the 12th October had to switch estate agents due to PB doing essentially nothing for 2 months. It took them one month to arrange photos of the flat despite constant prompts and reminders. They blamed the tenant and the managing estate agent for the delays, however we decided to sort it out ourselves and managed to speak to the estate agent and tenant within 1 day and resolve the supposed issue. A week later we were told the brochure was almost complete and we agreed a date to put the property on the market (which required discussion with the tenant). Three weeks later hadn’t heard anything and so after a week of phone calls/emails etc they eventually responded and admitted they hadn’t done the brochure or spoken to the tenant about the launch date. The following day we received another call saying that the photos that they had were so bad that they were unusable (this despite the previous day being told that the photos were ok to use). The whole experience was terrible from start to finish. It was never clear who our point of contact was. We were often told we would get a call back by the relevant person at a certain time which almost never happened. We were often told things that clearly weren’t true just to get us off the phone. We gave them multiple opportunities to redeem themselves and expressed our concerns after the first month of inactivity. Our concerns were at least acknowledged at this point and we were told we would be contacted by the client services manger which never happened. We later tried to escalate our concerns to the branch manager and were told we would get a call back - this has also never happened. All in all a huge waste of our time with potential significant financial consequences for us.

Our dream home purchased via Preston Baker turned out to be our nightmare home. Twelve months later living in a home that is still waiting for major internal repairs. We have had leaks from day 1 internal soil pipe leak. Toilets not screwed down.Floors move when walking around. Downstairs loo floor replaced twice and the list goes on. This was the show house on the development Preston Baker sold me. Purchase from HELL. Warranty useless . Aftersales shocking. Avoid at all costs.

Timewasters Whilst every single estate agent is obnoxious at one level or the other, these ones have their own way of upsetting buyers.They don't respond timely to your queries (whether it's phone or email). We discussed arranging a viewing for a property that i liked. We spoke for about 15 minutes. I answered all the questions they had, and in the end they said they'll arrange a viewing.Two days passed - but instead of confirming viewing details , they are more keen to arrange a meeting with either mortgage consultant.

Phone them to get a valuation now lockdown is easing, lady on phone was helpful and friendly, however then passed through to Duncan who rang regarding my needs, at this point he got my back up as he was talking to me as if I had never sold a property in my life. The day before the valuation I got a phone call from Annie telling me she had found someone interested in buying my property. I asked how that could be if no price had been agreed and I was told a price had been told to this person, I asked what it was and frankly, the price was way more than the house was worth, I asked how the prospective buyer new where my property was and was told she had told them my postcode but the person would not be able to find me. But my postcode only relates to 20 houses and I am sure it would be easy to come knocking. All this before the valuation visit and if I really wanted to sign up.When Duncan rang later I found his attitude to my concerns bombastic in a manner that he was gods gift to selling houses and rude toward me wanting to think about if I wanted Preston Baker to represent meEnough to say I told him not to evaluate my property.My advice to anyone thinking of this company, get the price from them but use another company with better customer service

From the first time we spoke to preston baker to view a rental property they have bin amazeing helen sophie holly and all the team carnt do enough for you and are the best estate agents in york from contacting the landlord to helping with a enq they are on hand where other estate agents take a long time and can be quite rude preston baker have always bin friendley and professional and aways there when you need them we love renting with them and can honestly say weather your renting or wanting to bhy by far this is the best estate agent to go through we recomend them 100% thankyou xx

I can't recommend Preston Baker enough. They hand-held me all the way through the process of selling the family home that had been in the family for over 80 years when my mother passed away. Being over 300 miles away, I needed the team at Preston Baker to stand in when I could not be there. The back up support was impeccable. Neighbours who were also selling property saw how Preston Baker handled the viewings and open day and as a result chose to use Preston Baker. The house sold within a week!
