Expensive estate agent

Probably a great service if you are selling a big house but the fixed fee and VAT which although you are told about in passing added another £400 on!! I sold a flat and they made all the profit more than the solicitor who did all the work. Why i went with them was I was told it would do really well with the property launch. Not one viewer and low and behold they already had a cash buyer lined up. They did very little effort for lots of money. Biggest bug bare is low value houses should not have to pay same. They promised weekly updates which never happened. When i complained was told the estate agent would speak with her manager and heard nothing. Naively as well i listened when they said other estate agents struggle to sell the flats yet i was approached by two estate agents in first month it was up for sale. Overall they did sell quick but certainly a lot of blagging to make you feel no one could compete and they will jump hoops for you which isnt what happens. I could have saved a lot going with a different estate agent.

Professional, Helpful and Friendly Staff

Just wanted to say how brilliant the staff are at the Headingley Branch, I have been renting for almost 2 years with them and every single staff member I have spoken to have been extremely helpful, friendly and professional and have been quick in getting the information I have required over to me straight away. Amazing customer service - Kestyn and team at Moortown

Kestyn - Preston Baker MoortownWe are currently selling our property. This is the third estate agents we have been to having had bad customer service experience from others. We initially came here as we had been to a couple of property launches and the staff at moortown were super professional. They literally blow the other agents out of the water - fantastic!Having put our property on the market with them we haven’t looked back. Believe me when I say you won’t get better. Customer care is 5*, they keep up updated every step of the way by telephone not just random emails like others and you have absolute trust in them and I know first hand how thorough they are showing potential buyers around. Although it’s their job they honestly have the most amazing ethos and culture enstalled within the company that they want to do well, they want their customers to be happy, they want to expand and do the company proud but most of all they really want to sell your house and make everyone happy! My only regret is we didn’t go with Preston Baker initially. So my advice would be... don’t waste your time, effort and money with others go with Preston Baker and you won’t be disappointed! A big shout out goes to Kestyn! The company should be proud to have individuals like this working for them!

Sheffield branch - outstanding service

From start to finish the process was so straight forward. Every person we were in contact with at Preston Baker, from our initial meetings with Hugh Sneddon, through to brochures, viewings, queries and negotiation (Sam Barthram, Rebecca Kay and Charlotte Murie), and sale progress reviews (Ashley Phillips), knew what they were doing, took ownership and got the job done.Hugh really knew the market and his clients. I was impressed by his knowledge and I was confident in his ability to secure a good price for my elderly Mum. However before making a final choice I asked Hugh and another agent to meet my Mum as I felt she should make the final decision on who sell the home where she had lived so happily with my Dad for 40 years. Mum took to Hugh straight away and was impressed by his straightforward answers, politeness and sensitivity. He had been my first choice as well!Whilst our buyers experienced some issues in getting to completion, I was kept fully informed throughout by Hugh, Sam and Ashley and never lost confidence in Preston Baker. Information they gave me was clear and accurate. Phone calls and emails were always dealt with promptly.We have no doubt we made the right decision to go with Preston Baker. Yes, their fees were not negligible, but we genuinely felt they earned their commission.

The Agency That Yorkshire Yearned For

I have worked with Preston Baker for the last year, and could not recommend them more. The emphasis and effort that they commit to ensuring that their Landlords and Tenants being treated well is second to none. EVERYONE at the company is professional, but more importantly, the perfect blend of knowledgeable, empathetic and efficient. Their processes have all been put in place with the customer experience at the heart, and I truly believe you would be hard stretched to find a tenant or landlord that hasn't had a great experience with them. Both Ashley and SJ, who are or have been my points of contact, are a credit to the company. They are clear industry experts and it is no surprise to me at all that they win so many awards given the calibre of their staff.

5* for a reason! Excellent service all round

Our involvement with Preston Baker was on the purchase side of the property. From first contact on wanting to view the property all the way through to the completion day they were fantastic. Louise and Matt in the Selby office were fantastic. Louise really seemed to care about our needs as well as her clients. From arranging additional viewings to gaining access for workmen quotes, nothing was an inconvinience. It was a project house; they knew this, as did we and they were very accomodating to our needs. Louise talked me through every step of the buying process and listened to me rant on more than one occasion. I only wish we'd used them to sell our house!

My experience with Preston Baker has been so beautiful as not only Sam but Ashley, Rebecca and Charlotte supported me through a very difficult and a huge time of my life which was to sell my house. Great Service

We decided to market our property with Preston Baker, Headingley, after a smooth valuation process, which focused on customer service rather than hard sales techniques. This made us feel comfortable and we decided to register with Preston Baker to sell our property. Preston Baker were very informative focusing on how the property would be marketed and things we could do as vendors to improve how our property was received in the market. Ben Walker managed the sale of our property and he was exceptional throughout. Preston Baker took all of our viewings and Ben in particular went the extra mile by arranging access to the property for trades people which often involved Ben making several trips to the property personally over a 2 week period to ensure it was locked and secured while I was away with work. The additional care by Preston Baker, Ben in particular, resulted in our property hitting the market sooner and ultimately has moved us to the Sold STC stage of the sales process within 2 weeks of the property being listed.

Preston Baker 5 star Review.

Preston Baker throughly deserve the 5 star rating. The reason they are so good is that PB is split into 2 separate teams, Sales and Property Maintenance, each of them having defined roles so each person has a dedicated position which allows for everything to run quickly, efficiently and seamlessly. Because of the amount of staff they have in each role it means that phones are answered quickly without being put on hold or having to rely on being called back. I have been using PB for the last 4 years and have no hesitation recommending them.

Fabulous Team.

Preston Bakers have found me 2 separate buyers for my flat but I decided to rent it out instead after having been advised by Ashley that if I didn't need the money instantly then I should think about renting it out no matter how many times I've rang to speak to Ashley he's always there for me even if he's busy he gets back to me as soon as he can all the staff are so good but Ashley really does take the time to explain every thing too me he's so kind and he cares he gets back to me asap and gives me any free time that he has so we can really talk things through so I don't rush any decision that I ultimately make for myself i'm on my 2nd tenant now because they find them so quickly for me this 2nd tenant was already signed up before the 1st tenant left wow how good is that I've never been a landlord before and wouldn't be one now if it wasn't for Ashley he's like a "friend" with the all the know how i'm really greatfull to him he doesn't need to put the time in that does with me but I truly believe he cares about his job and the people/customers that he works for all the staff are very helpful without a doubt Preston Baker are the tops for me !!!

Well Informed, dynamic and great to work with

We have both bought and sold through Preston Baker and the quality of our experience through both processes has been consistently high. From the first meeting we had with Cathy whilst enquiring about a new property, we were impressed with the attention to detail the agency shows to all of its processes. When selling, PB are very proactive and use as much demographic information as they can to market your property to achieve maximum exposure, not just relying on people calling in or looking on Right Move. The quality of their brochures and photos are excellent but most of all, they are direct and honest with their feedback which helps you making decisions based on fact which is not always easy when selling your home. During the buying process, PB facilitated an offer process that involved negotiation but did not drag out. Again, they were direct with both parties to achieve a realistic price and helped smooth over difficult situations during the sale completion.In short, they are a dynamic agency with a unique approach to selling in a difficult market. We would not hesitate to use their services again.

Overall an acceptabled experience but with some failures

Overall an acceptable experience. One of the reasons we chose Preston Baker was the idea of your property launch however the number of viewings of the property on launch day fell well below the advised expectations and therefore this did not start the potential bidding war which would have increased the sales price from the listed sales price.The property also did not feature on your "Property of the week" as promised until I called about it 1-2 days before launch day.Communication was mostly OK however many times I called and left messages and was not contacted back.With all the above taken into account, at the end of the day we accepted an offer of the asking price 4 days after launch day which is not a bad thing. I do however feel that this would have happened with any Estate Agent we could have chosen.

Both bought and sold through Preston Baker. Knowledgeable about what needs to be done, always professional and courteous. Not always the easiest to get in contact with but that's due to the small size of the team and the activensss of the members. Sold my flat in a very swift manner - perhaps listed the launch date a little too soon which resulted in low viewings but this was then followed up with a host of viewings being organised resulting in lots of interest.
