Passion and commitment - Preston Baker (Cross Gates, Leeds)

Having tried to sell my house in the past with another agent, I know what poor service can look/feel like. However, I am very pleased with Preston Baker. Dealt with the Cross Gates team in Leeds. Cathy was passionate and energetic from the word go, and Adam was a star as he kept me constantly informed of progress. He often went beyond his remit to help out, and made me feel Preston Baker were as keen on selling the house as I was. And after we agreed on a sale, Ashley kept me informed throughout like clockwork.In summary, Preston Baker came across as agents who clearly know what they are doing. It appears that they have good processes/systems that ensures we do not feel lost in the process.Thanks Cathy, Adam and Ashley.

sale of my flat

I am not someone who often posts a review but I was compelled to do one for Preston Baker following the sale of my flat. What brilliant service - thank you. Special thanks to Sophie Woodhead and Kathryn Steele who really went the extra mile.I live in London and was trying to sell a flat I owned in Sheffield which was previously tenanted. Many of the questions the solicitors needed answered I could not answer, as I had not occupied the flat. Sophie and Kathryn went to the flat and took pictures so that I could pass on the information - eg solicitor needed proof the front door was a fire door.Also, the electricity was on a meter card and Sophie and Kathryn loaded the card for me to ensure the viewings could be done in light ! These are just a few examples of the help I needed.Preston Baker always returned my calls and kept me informed of viewings and feedback during the process.Thanks to you all the flat has sold and we complete today. Happy Days

I'm a first time buyer so dealing with estate agents and mortgage brokers was all new to me and a little daunting. Preston baker have been amazing in comparison to other estate agents I have had dealings with and they made my experience feel unique to me and ensured I was offered the most suitable advice for my needs and circumstances.My estate agent Adam was friendly and polite and has been a pleasure to deal with while putting me at ease by sharing his own experiences. My mortgage broker Minnie has been equally amazing and really tailor made my mortgage offer to me. All at the offices have been lovely and professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new home.

Excellent service from Preston Baker - I am the executor selling my recently deceased father's bungalow and Charlotte, who has been handling this for me has been really great in helping me work through this - the sale is being split four ways between myself my sister and my step mum's two children so we wanted a quick and hassle free way of selling the property - Charlotte has kept me informed and given me excellent professional advice throughout - after a few weeks with not much activity we had a conversation about lowering the price and although Charlotte left the decision ultimately to me her advice and expertise led to me reducing the price and we now have a buyer which is an excellent result - Charlotte has been approachable throughout and kept me fully up to date on progress during the sale. The work Preston Baker did before the bungalow went on the market was excellent too in taking photos and doing a video and launching the sale. Overall very happy with the standard of service

We put our house on the market with Preston Baker in January of this year, as we were told that the house should sell ,however after a few viewings this wasn't the case,although Ashley was keeping us informed as to how the market was going .it was about may when Ashley had to take over another branch of Preston Baker that Chloe took over from Ashley, wow what a day that was,Chloe organised the photographer to come and take more photos, Chloe came and did the viewings and yes we have sold.thanks to the whole team at Preston Baker.

Beware chauvenism

I was initially in the capable hands of Gemma and Emma, in the York office who won me over with their profesionalism, they found a buyer for me within 24 hours and because my flat was empty , clean and liveable in said it would take between 10 and 12 weeks to complete. Every time they rang me they actually said what a lovely lady I was to deal with. Then I was passed on to Ashley who was very polite up to the 14th week when I left 2 messages for him to ring me back as I was getting anxious about the length of time it was taking for completion. I am female and 70 years old. When he rang I was polite and he said "There is no need to leave 2 messages I will get back to you eventually but I am very busy, I have 160 clients on my books and you are just one of them" I was devastated at his manner and got off the phone as quickly as I could, I rang the office and told them I never wanted to speak to him again. My case was taken over by Claira who dealt with the rest of the transactions very efficiently and quickly within a week. I feel that this Ashley would not have spoken to a man like he spoke to me. I was and still am very upset and wouldn't want anyone else spoken to like that. For £3000.00 I expected better treatment than that. I only wish I was able to contact the directors, I would think they have worked very hard to build up this company and would not want employees giving them a bad name.Margaret Walker

Absolutely clueless. Wanted to view a property, am a serious buyer with finance ready, basically wouldn't let me view as they wanted to come and value our house and sell that for us - trying to hard sell us their service. Funnily enough, the house we wanted to view has been on the market since September 2021, so clearly someone isn't doing their job. It's quite possible it's one person there, whom I won't name, but just gave off a really bad and cocky attitude and terrible first impression.
