We would like to thank everyone at Carter & May especially Charles Lee for helping us sell our home. From start to finish the whole process has been handled very professionally and we were regularly contacted throughout with updates. Nothing was too much trouble and you guided us through the sale. The photos were amazing and the dolls house viewer meant that potential buyers could also ‘walk around’ online before attending a viewing in person. Ben Clark was the agent that introduced us to a seller of a property in the New Forest area. Right from the start, Ben understood what our requirements were and didn't try to show us properties that would not tick our boxes. As it was, Ben was so astute, that it was the second property (and vendor) he introduced us to, that we offered on. Throughout the sale process, Ben has been highly responsive. Calls often don't often go unanswered, but we know that if they do, we'll always get a call back that day. Ben follows up and confirms key information via email, so we were able to keep a close eye on things. If you're buying a property through Carter and May, you can't go wrong with Ben :)

We recently bought a house in the fordingbridge area which was managed by Ben. From the outset he was professional and diligent which enabled us to proceed smoothly. Ben took time and care in the selling of the property and worked hard to remove the additional stressors of buying and selling which are unavoidable. I have just sold my house through Carter & May. This is the 9th move I have undertaken. I have dealt with a number of other estate agents historically and Carter & May are superior in every way. My sale has been handled by Charlie from start to finish. You are never pushed on to someone who doesn't know your sale. Charlie is always responsive, professional and level headed. Tim had previously sold our house, so when we came to putting the house on the market he was very familiar with the property. His actions were extremely pro-active and we had managed to sell our house within a week. During the process, we unfortunately came up against issues with our forward purchase but Tim had helped us by chasing our seller's solicitors and in the end was our key contact in helping us exchange. There was obviously an incentive for Tim to help us complete but at the same time, there were several others who could have offered this same sort of assistance and didn't. Easily the best estate agent in the area. We had a difficult sale with everything that has gone on recently but they took it all in their stride. Charlie at Carter and May guided us through the process with the upmost professionalism and kept us informed at all times. I particularly like that Charlie is straight talking, whilst still friendly....Something that you need when selling a house. Carter and May's photography and sales materials are the best that I have seen and they also respond quickly to queries. They are also willing to give advice and work hard for you. I can't praise them highly enough. Charles Lee guided this sale from beginning to end, the epitome of what a real estate agent should be but rarely is. Apart from selling the property within two weeks, he then kept in constant touch with the buyers and with myself. He phoned both solicitors regularly to move it all forward. The buyers' solicitor sent out repeated (already answered) questions three times to stall for time. Charles was very supportive and gave good advice. Having correctly assessed the situation he advised the buyers to take action. As a result we have now exchanged contracts well within the requested time period with completion in a week's time. My emails were answered quickly and I had at least a weekly summary of progress by phone. If that were not enough, this is the only local agent I could find who doesn't tie you in at all and you are free to leave at any time. They also only charged 0.75% (at the time I sold) which was refreshing. However it wasn't that which made me choose them. I had visited a number of local estate agents and spoken with them to get a feel of their attitude towards the client. I wanted someone I could work with and who would really listen. I realised that as a firm, Carter May thought outside the box and were unique in their approach. There are no questions to answer when you agree to them acting for you, they just get on and market it. Other agents sent out lists of questions (hard copy and not email so you would have to scan them to keep a copy). These were the questions you have to answer again for the solicitors, so they have no need to do that. I had a three page letter from two agents I had visited, with all the terms and conditions which really implied an 'us and them' attitude. The letters also told me how marvellous they were and tried to sell themselves. They seemed to feel the need to safeguard themselves rather than the client. When I asked Carter May to sell the property, I got an email confirming they would and no paperwork - bliss! I speak as a customer who has sold a number of properties over the years and experienced many different estate agents. Carter May is different. Tell them to sell your property and they will, it's as simple as that. Carter May, and Charles Lee in particular, is with you all the way, what more can you ask?

We sold our property with Carter & May late 2017 moving early 2018. Right from the first moment Jake came to view our property and discuss putting our house on the market I knew they were the agents for us. He was honest, telling us everything we needed to know so we could get the right price for us. I felt completely comfortable from the start. We had several viewings within 24 hours and sold within 2 weeks! It took us several months to find the property for us, during that time we were not pressurised at all. Carter & May contacted us regularly talking through different properties and kept us updated on our buyers position. It didn’t matter who I spoke to when I rang the office everyone immediately made me feel like I was their only client and provided a top service. Selling your house is quite a scary task, and can be very daunting but Jake and the team made it feel easy and took us through it step by step! This was a massive help as I was also pregnant at the time so gave me one less thing to think about. I always recommend them to everyone and anyone!

Not only did they achieve a great price for the sale of our house which was way beyond what we had anticipated, but they also found our new home and allowed us to be the first to see it. Carter & May Estate Agents are second to none. Richard is extremely passionate at what he does and soon after meeting him, we knew that he was the right man for the job. We sold a week after going to market and at a great price. When you go through an exceptionally difficult conveyancing period as we did, you realise that not all estate agents deserve the bad reputaion they so often get. Richard never gave up, kept us constantly updated and informed (in our case right down to the wire, due to buyer's solicitor's appaling communication skills). This gave us great confidence that we had the right people on board, in what was at times, very stressful. Backed up by a fantastic support team with Naomi and Jake who were always kept in the loop. They never let us down at any point throughout the whole process. Thoroughly professional. We highly recommend Richard and the team at Carter & May without any reservation whatsoever. I can't speak highly enough of Carter & May and Charlie and his team. They took over the marketing of my property from a previous agency and i had 3 times the number of viewings in the first 3 weeks of marketing with Carter & May than i did in the previous 3 months with first agent. Their proactive and friendly approach to marketing is excellent and their communication is superb and even take time to contact you even if there is nothing to say.
