GoogleBen from Carter and May is unsurpassable as an estate agent. From the first contact at valuation nothing was too much trouble. Despite the property being rather unique and appealing to a specific type of buyer he remained positive and reassuring. During the sale he was always on hand to answer questions and provide guidance in a calm, sensible manner. Would use them again anytime, we had other larger estate agencies involved too but they never even got any viewings let alone offers. Highly recommend.

FacebookBen at Carter & May has been absolutely fantastic during the sale of our property in Alderholt. Having moved our sale to Carter & May due to not the best service with another agent, we have been continually impressed with the service provided by Ben, who consistently went above and beyond, often doing work usually undertaken by solicitors in order to assist in having the sale completed quicker. With unprompted weekly updates, I was never having to chase Ben to find out where things were at, and although there have been stresses along that way, there would have been many more had our agent not been as good as Ben. I would be very happy asking Ben to sell any property of mine in the future!

Proactive when a maintenance issue is reported and send out knowledgeable experts to repair with open communication during the process. We rented for approx 2 years and found the staff pleasant, polite and always willing to help, share experience and keep us well informed of changes and safety. THE best agency not only in Salisbury but in my view Nationwide.

GoogleTotally useless. Came to look at my mother in laws property. Never came back to confirm despite emails and calling in at office in Salisbury, so went to to another agent and sold within 2 weeks at over £500k. They obviously didn't want the business or the commission .

GoogleHaving personally had a previous outstanding experience in dealings with Carter May, recommending them to handle my son's sale was easy advice. They sold his house in eighteen hours, achieving the full anticipated sale price and Charles took the lead over two other agents ahead in the chain whose level of support to their clients was nothing short of appalling. When the chain collapsed and the other agents were ready to abandon their clients, Charles found a solution and saw the process through to completion. I have no hesitation in recommending Charles, Jake and Naomi to anyone looking to sell, buy or let if they want a professional service and peace of mind. Why am I and not my son writing the review - because he picked the perfect period of time to be away at sea!

GoogleRented a property with this company for 7 months due to the landlord wanting his property back because they moved back to the country. Would *AVOID* renting with Carter & May, before moving in and putting our holding deposit down they wanted us to move in a month before we said we could (we told them the date we could move in before putting our holding deposit down) they threaten we could lose the property if we didnt move in sooner. But I refused due to already telling them the date we could move in and because we were moving from over 200miles away it wasn't achievable. On getting the first initial bill of desposit/rent/referencing fees it was incorrect and the lady who we were communicating with about this was extremely rude and abrupt via email claiming they were right. But it turned out we were right they had missed out a day. No apology. They never came to do the 3month checks on the property. It look them 4 months to fix the lock on the door which broke on first opening the door (they claimed we had shut the door too hard) eventually we got it fix and did not have to pay as it wasn't shut too hard, it was upon opening the door the little handle over the lock which you use to shut the door as their is no handle fell off. It had clearly been just an overuse issue and I was the unlucky one for it to fall off on. They never fixed the shower head which would only sit at one height. On getting our 2months notice to move from the property, they said they would help us find somewhere within their letting agency to rent. Numerous properties within our budget came onto the market, however we never got to view them as they never told us. The communication of the lady who runs the letting agency side was poor and unprofessional. She never rang, would only email and sometimes her emails would not be sent even though she claimed they had been. On moving out of the property they took 5working days to check the property over and tried to charge us for crums and grease in the oven and water marks on the shower. However, I took photos on leaving the property which proved otherwise resulting in them having to give us our full deposit back. Again no apology just an abrupt email. I have been renting for 10years, never had any problems until using this company. They come across friendly and their reviews online which I checked were good, unfortunately they were all from sales but I thought it still reflected a good company. The experience I had was not that. The property we rented was lovely just sad how the letting company has ruined our first experience at renting in Salisbury.
