I am a Hong Kong buyer so I was unable to view the property I wanted to buy in person at first.However, when I planned to buy my current property, I received a piece of paper listing out the furniture I should have. I also received two videos showing the interior of the property.And then I bought the property.Unfortunately, when I finally arrived in the UK in early August 2023 and entered the property, some furniture was missing.I contacted RW Invest. The post-sales team did give me a call or two in August for follow up and said they would fix it. And then no action.My letting agent and I kept urging their action. In October, I received a call from a staff of the sales team. (Obviously, even the sales team knew the matter!)Apart from introducing a new investment opportunity which I rejected, the staff said “the missing items should be easily fixed”. I trusted this statement naively.After that, I sent a few more emails to RW Invest. No reply. Now, it is mid-January 2024, 5-month is given RW Invest to fix the problem but in vain. I believe if I still want the missing items, I shall have to pay and buy them myself. I’d like to share my experience so as to remind the potential buyers - Think twice to buy properties from RW Invest or you plan to pay extra to get what you expect to have.Update on 22.3.2024I am grateful that Peter Sinclair, Post Exchange Area Manager, has closely follow up the issue.The issue is now resolved and I appreciate RW Invest tries to do what they can do.

Dear Alistair,The development you purchased a property in was a residential buy-to-let investment property.Unfortunately in 2020 the developer encountered difficulties due to a series of complex and unprecedented challenges faced across the industry due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and national lockdowns imposed across the country.When restrictions began to ease, the construction team were one of the first to return to site to continue with construction work but there were still safe distancing measures and a multitude of other new safe working measures in place. Due to the constantly changing nature of the pandemic and government imposed rules, the developer was ultimately unable to continue with the build and was placed in to administration. Once this happened RWinvest contacted all investors to inform them of the position and offered a proposal to assist the buyers to purchase the site out of administration with the funds they had already contributed in order to progress the site to completion. Within this proposal we offered to assist buyer to appoint any required contractors, quantity surveyors and necessary personnel to complete the build. For the proposal to move forward this would require the agreement of all investors, but unfortunately circa. 50% failed to respond to the proposal, and of those that did respond, some were not willing to move forward with the proposal.With this being the case the development was left in the hands of the administrators who are the specialists in restructuring, and we understand that they are still in constant communication with all investors working to secure the best possible outcome.
