I visit my local post office to post a large letter

I visit my local post office to post a few things I sell on ebay, so that I can prove postage I buy a postage label through ebay and print it off, but when I take it to the post office, I am met with obvious disapproval , after this happened a couple of times I decided to used another post office that is near me but the other direction, on both occasions in both post offices they took the parcel from me and put it straight into the collection sack, so both time I asked if they were going to scan it, and then they did, I asked the person serving me, he said that they didn't get paid anything if a person comes in with a prepaid postage label. post office need to sort out these post offices.

Requested delivery options ignored

Had a delivery scheduled for today (07/09/2022) unfortunately I had to go out. Delivery advice on Post Office web site gave me options, I chose to have it returned to the main office in Burnley for me to pick up later. I specified this requirement due to any trustworthy residents on my road are working. What did the Post Office do? You delivered it to a neighbour who opened it. This has happened before with other delivery's though first time with the Post Office. Is there a reason why options on your web site are ignored? Very unsatisfactory service and if I could the rating would be zero.

useless

Got a quote for travel insurance but when you try and retrieve a quote online at a later stage ~you can’t.There was a promotion on if you buy your travel money, you get discount off your insurance. So I called to pay for my insurance, I was told I had to buy the travel money first...(as I wasn’t aware of the offer when I made the call)...I was told David would call me back, as I was in a queue for 15 minutes and I didn’t want to call back and queue again. David didn’t call back.I’m no better off and their antique website is a pain in the derrière.

Sudden, Rochdale post office.

I have visited this post office a number of times over the last few months and suspect I have been overcharged for postage. In light of this I researched prices on the Royal Mail website prior to visiting.I took in an item classed as a small parcel and clearly asked for a tracked 48 hour service, with the value of the parcel as £50. I was quoted a price of £10.35 recorded delivery and the parcel would be delivered by Monday. I repeated I would like a tracked 48 hour delivery and was told this would be £5.35 (or £6.39 for tracked 24 hour delivery). I queried this price and quoted the Royal Mail website of £3.39. The post office worker explained that if a signature was not required then the price would be £3.95, and that there were no price points at £3.39. He then went on to explain that postage had increased on the 7th October, suggesting this was the reason for the price discrepancy.I took my parcel and used another post office. At best the level of service was incompetent, and at worst a deliberate attempt to overcharge me for a service I hadn't requested, which is something I strongly suspect has happened in the past.I recorded the transaction.

Barn Hill Post Office is the best

I have been utilizing the services of the Barn Hill Post Office, my local post office, and I am thoroughly impressed with their exceptional staff and the quality of service they offer. The owners are not only accommodating but also very friendly, always providing me with helpful guidance. The store itself is impeccably organized, clean, and efficiently managed, serving as a prime model for other businesses. I am grateful for their outstanding service.

Melksham post office

I refer to Melksham post office. I really think post office service providers needs to remember that paying customers actually keep them in a job. I’ve never been to the post office in Melksham and left satisfied with the service I received. There’s always something. You don’t write senders details there’s an issue , you write it there’s an issue somewhere! You try to send international post they try to stop you by telling you how they cannot do it. Especially during covid where parcel where still being flown round the world. They don’t accept contactless with Apple phone. It really is awful for a private company that makes profits. You all really need to step back and treat people like they are real customers coming to spend their cash in there. Imagine you had a coffee shop and I came in with £11 would you chastise openly in public. Or would you be treated like a king in hope that I return with my money to spend it.

Nicola at Bingham PO went above and beyond!

I paid for a very important package over a week ago, with no news of it being received the other end. Unfortunately i misplaced my tracking number, so was unable to check the parcels whereabouts. I went into Bingham Post Office today and explained my predicament. Both of the ladies in the branch took time to look into it for me, with Nicola in particular going out of her way to go through all special deliveries on the day in question, one by one, on the PO tracking website. Eventually she found my order, looked at tracking and confirmed it has been delivered and signed for. I can now get my brother to track it down his end. I already had a high opinion of the team at Bingham PO, but this has really raised the level. Thank you!

Update

To update my previous experience I went to a different Post Office on Plessey Road Blyth. I requested the "redirection form in special circumstances". The lady handed me the correct form within seconds. I completed the form & returned the same day to the Post Office. The same lady checked it through & everything was completed with competency & pleasantness. I left the office knowing I had been treated kindly with a great deal of consideration. Well done Plessey Road Post Office staff you are terrific.

The post office advertises itself as a drop of point for DPD and Parcelforce, We had a 30 x 30 x 30 cm parcel, Had to drive to 4 post offices to find one that would take it They all say, too busy too large, not enough space, = ridiculous, it's small , total waste of time so how do they get away with advertising this as a service There decline is obvious and add in the latest stamp increase for a continual bad service, what's left ! It's a national joke

ANOTHER PARCEL LIST

Used Royal Mail to send package to daughter. Well packaged; recipient & sender details. Used PO counter. Sent 1st class with aim to deliver by 9 Oct. Paid £4.79. Sales person not interested in discussing other options. Here we are 8 days later. NOTHING. Have to wait 10 days before even raising claim for delayed never mind lost. Next time will use courier services. Cheaper; faster; items digitalised; & contact points easier. No Riyal Mail number/chat room & PO counter/delivery office neither interested nor can assist. Simply not interested. Looks like PO is rotten to the core from CEO to the must junior member of staff.

Don't be fooled by online exchange rates.

Don't be fooled by the online exchange rates published by the post office. If you just turn up at a branch, assuming you will get the daily published online rate you are in for a shock. I got 1.13 dollars for my pound when today's online rate is 1.1857... that's 5% worse! I couldn't order online as we are making an urgent trip to the US for family health reasons. In my book this is deceitful and opportunism at it's worst.

Avoid the travel insurance!

Avoid the travel insurance!! Please read all other reviews on different review sites, I wish I had! The only thing they do well is take your money to buy the policy. I submitted a very straight forward claim over 9 weeks ago my 5yr old came out in chicken pox the day before the 2 of us where due to fly. Medical letter, holiday invoices and cancellation documents supplied to post office when the claim was submitted. I was told when i rang them after 3 weeks that they had been accepted, but now they want to know what condition led to the chicken pox and if he saw the dr prior to me booking the holiday (several months before) in light of his condition and was told he would be fit to fly. (My child has no conditions they are referring to chicken pox) i have had very limited contact from them and what I have had has been in response to complaints/phone calls that just acknowledge the delay and say mine is a priority case.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service ! I paid over £15 to send a small parcel tracked and signed to my sister in Ireland. A month later it arrived back to me because the post master didn't correctly fill out the customs form. And now I have to physically go to a post office to pick up a form to claim my money back. Why can I not download this form from their website? My guess is because they are hoping people won't be bothered to pick up the form and make a claim. I am about to have an operation and won't be able to collect the form anytime soon. Terrible customer service from start to finish.

Such a rude man - go to muirhouse instead he’s lovely!!!

Such a rude man!!!! Post office - please train him on customer service or remove his license!!! He had a patronising sign saying he’s a returns expert and to trust him and yet he can’t recognise a QR code when it’s showed to him. Then when I wanted to check the return authorisation code had been included in the label he printed he told me I didn’t need it and all the info was there for the parcel to arrive such as the address. Yes of course the post office could get it there but I needed to be sure Zara knew what to do with it so I got my refund. He failed to see this was important. Should not be in a customer facing role with this attitude. Nor be allowed to close at 3pm. Seriously ???!!!

Travel money

I decided to buy some euros at my local post office. I exchanged my 500 punds for euros. I got 550 euros. Initially I thought that it was the exchange rate at that day. After I arrived home, I checked the post office exchange rates online (which I should have done before). It came out that the online rate was 1.18 whereas the lady sold me euros for just 1.10 at the branch. I lost almost 40 euros. I felt cheated. Went back asking if I could get my refund. She politely yet firmly explained that it wasn't possible. When I asked why such a difference in rates she replied: ‘This is how it works’, she also explained to me that she also didn’t understand why such a difference. I decided to call the customer service. They were unable to help me! Finally someone gave me an email to contact them directly about that issue (customercare@post office.co.uk). I sent an email and attached the scan of my receipt. No response! I feel that I was cheated. How disgusting that is. The lady who was serving me knew that if I had ordered my euros online I would have been better off, however she didn’t care. This is honestly shocking and disgusting. I feel greatly dissatisfied and will never use post office for such purposes.

The level of service from the Briscoe Lane Post Office branch in Newton Heath Manchester is incredibly outstanding. Post Office money exchange Click and…

Post Office money exchange Click and Collect service was awful! They took the money from my account, I queued for half an hour to collect it and was told they didn’t have enough euro to give me. Apparently they do not put the money aside for you, even though you’ve paid for it, they just give it to anyone who asks for it at the counter before you! After ringing customer service I went to a different branch - it was closed! I had to ring and ask for and wait days for a refund. Terrible!! And stressful! And no euro by the end of it!

Mis-sell on a grand scale totally out…

Mis-sell on a grand scale totally out of control they do what they like with no supervision from Ofcom. The service for parcels has very limited insurance cover in fact they have none. You ask to have your parcel insured, and what you get is a parcel compensation scheme with fewer consumer rights. You also get regs and rules but you are not told about them until you try to claim. Weak regulation lets them get away with it.

Striking for more money is laughable

Striking for more money is laughable. You failed to deliver my medication even though I was in. I heard the postman on the stones outside but he never knocked. When I came to the door he just walked off. My medication went back to the post office and when I went to collect it, it was closed due to the strikes. I kind of need that medication or, you know, I wouldn't be taking it. Guess I'll die.

Poorly trained Post Office Staff

The Mount Post Office of 2, Market Parade, Hampton Road West, Feltham TW13 6AJ is under new ownership (2024) and since then has started to deliver extremely poor customer service. The staff, particularly an Indian man in his 30’s are rude, impatient, thuggish and disrespectful to most customers who ask a question, need help or advice. The staff seem to enjoy arguing with customers and asking them to no longer visit their store if they don’t appreciate their poor standard of service and rude behaviour 🙄Today (07.10.24 @ midday) I had the misfortune of meeting the Indian man in his 30's who, as usual highlighted his bad, manners, unhelpful nature, with a stern, moody face, rude tone of voice and continued to avoid eye contact as I asked him questions. Why on earth he does this job when it's clear that he doesn't enjoy it is beyond our understanding.Today for example he lied to my elderly Mother claiming that he cannot take cash for her to pay a British Gas energy bill due to new Post Office rules that caps cash payments. My Mother came back to our parked car to share this bad news. I was unsure, so I went back to check. That’s when I was met with the bad, mannered Indian man in his 30's who then continued to lie by saying that there is a limit to how much cash the Post Office will allow him to collect. The rude man ended our conversation by saying that I shouldn't come to this post office in future, to which I replied: "Why would I come here again when" he "is so bad, mannered. I will never visit" their "shop again."We sensed he was lying and went to an alternative Post Office in Feltham to double check his claims and discovered that this man was lying. There are no new cash cap Post Office rules. Judging from numerous Google reviews about this particular Post Office, it appears that this man cannot count, is slow to count and makes mistakes when counting cash. I agree, and add that this man is also lazy and doesn’t want to spend time counting cash.On a positive note, we found an alternative, local Post Office managed by a lovely team at Spring Corner Post Office, Feltham who provided us with sound advice and empathised with the poor level of service from The Mount Post Office because they had also heard about the poor level of service there too.Suffice to say, we have today (07.10.24) reported this case to The Post Office complaints department because The Mount Post Office need to be called to account for their poor performance, which aims to undermine the reputation of The Post Office brand. The Post Office definitely needs to retrain some of their employees who are poorly performing to deliver the best customer experience and at the very least ensure that all their staff pass their Maths GCSE to help them manage their banking function.

Waltham Cross sort office - rubbish!

Waltham Cross sorting office has been closed now for days with no idea when it will be open. They don’t update their website with the correct opening hours and I have been there three times only to find they have closed early without any warning. Ridiculous! My parcels are being held to ransom and because the deliverer did not bother to write the tracking code down I can’t get them redelivered either. I dislike dealing with the Post Office with a passion and will now advise senders to use an more reliable delivery method even if I have to suffer the cost. If more people did this maybe something would be done about their lack of service. Blaming COVID after two years just isn’t acceptable. Shame on you!

The Post Office Branch at County Road…

The Post Office Branch at County Road Post Office, in Liverpool, opened late instead of 9 am. Someone who worked there knocked on the door to be let in. This one is after 9 am. And I was told please, could you wait for 5 to 10 minutes because they were waiting for the safe to open. What's the point of it saying 9 am when they are late in opening. It should be against Post Office policy for late opening times. And when there is only one person serving behind the counter when it's full. It was a lot better service when the previous people who worked at this Post Office, not these ones. USELESS!!!
