TrustpilotExcellent service at Bideford
I have used Bideford post office twice in the last week and the service has been exceptional. I was served by a very helpful man named Colin who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and made both transactions very simple for me. One was renewing a driving licence, the other was to tax a recently purchased car where the v5 had been lost in the post. I live in a small village a few miles outside of bideford that is usually served by a post office van. This has not been to the village in nearly 2 weeks as they are apparently having issues with a repair, which makes the bideford branch crucial for locals like myself who don't wish to drive all the way to barnstaple.

TrustpilotFailed Digital passport application.
At Cardiff Queen Street Post office. I used there service to renewed my passport digitally, or I thought I did. A week later I received an email from the passport office. They had only received my old passport and nothing else. I then had to fill out a paper passport application, take photos and post to the passport office. This cost an extra £8 after already paying £16 for the Post Office service. I am still to get a refund after the passport office states I should be entitled a full refund. I will not be recommending this service as one was not provided.Update. When I received my passport, from the Passport Office included was a letter to take back to the said Post Office to receive my check and send fee back in full. My check and send fee was refunded (£16). But previously I had been told the passport office would refund it. Which was not true.

TrustpilotMilnrow post office
Milnrow post office, Rochdale greater Manchester, one of the staff members is absolutely shocking he's horrible, Ive had problems with him on more than one occasion, I post parcels often and know exactly what I can and can't send. I even check on the post office website to make sure my parcels meet dimensions, the parcel I tried to send abroad was well within the allowed size 90cm it was less than 30cm he tried to send it through parcel force that was double the cost £70 from £35 he's literally trying to rip people off. Theres a young lad that works there and he's absolutely brilliant, he's funny always helps and goes above and beyond, when I walk in and see the other guy I know it's going to be terrible and hes going to make things up to try and get maximum money. I always explain it and he thinks he's right, he's not he's wrong, and that office will close down because of he's arrogance, needless to say I used fedex and £37 was the best, so he just lost money through greed. Avoid Milnrow post office at all costs of it will be your cost in your pocket.

TrustpilotCannock Town post office
Cannock Town post office. Shocking service from the smirking woman behind the counter who through my pre paid Jiffy bag back at me saying it wasn’t a large envelope saying it was over 2.5cm. I took it home and it measured 2.6cm. OK it was over! but I took it down to another local PO and a they accepted it no problem. I honestly think the Royal Mail need to have extensive customer service training as per the private sector. Cannock sorting office is filled with miserable employees also, just put the post office to bed and let the couriers take over.

TrustpilotDisgusting service
I've just been queuing with several other hapless customers in Macclesfield Post Office for ten minutes only to find out that it no longer opens on a Sunday! We had to be informed of this by WH Smith staff as there was no notice announcing this change on the counters! Unbelievable to do this and update the website but say nothing in the actual store. But absolutely typical Post Office behaviour. How much effort does it take to put up a simple notice really???This is the fourth time this year I've been into Macclesfield and wasted time, petrol and energy to find the place shut for a variety of reasons. Now I understand it's closed for good on Sunday, the only day when you didn't have to join a queue of 14 or 15 people and wait half an hour while some people fill out passport applications and have their photo taken by counter staff. Another ludicrous policy!!

Its a shame I can't give a a minus star review to Oakham Post Office. The service is so poor and staff are the rudest and most arrogant people I've ever come across in a public facing establishment. In the future, I will opt to drive the 10 miles to another Post Office. I really don't know what type of training these people are receiving from the Post Office. Su h a shame that this is the face of Britain's Post Service.

I used check and send passport application at Sandbach Post Office . The lady behind the counter checked and double checked . 3 weeks later , I found she had entered my DOB wrongly . I had to write to the passport office to correct the mistake before the could verify any documents. When the email arrived to verify my identity , she'd got my address wrong . I've spent quite a long time on phonecalls and letters to correct her mistakes . I assume she's too bored to do her job or care how much havoc is caused

TrustpilotHome insurance review
Home insurance review. It's a shame that such a large, varied organisation like the Post Office gets all its offerings lumped under one website. I'm sure some offerings must be poor whilst others such as their home insurance are 5 star.Their home insurance is certainly very competitively priced for me but more importantly the service is superb. I've had two house hold emergency claims over the past 2 years both of which dealt with very speedily. Today's problem was a blocked drain which was unblocked 3 hours after reporting the problem. Don't know about the rest of the Post Office but I highly recommend their home insurance.

TrustpilotLudlow post office in one stop
This afternoon I stood in a queue and witnessed Bonny serve a fragile gentleman who was obviously confused and baffled. He needed to obtain a new PIN for his bank card. Bonny patiently and meticulously dealt with him explaining what he had to do and why only he could know his PIN. It was clear to everyone in the waiting line that she couldn't solve his situation but the calmness and kindness she showed is a rare thing today. It made me very grateful for such wonderful customer service. Thank you Bonny

TrustpilotTook ages to send a simple parcel at Reading Smith's branch
Took ages to send a simple parcel - big queue for service so my wife initially went to machines. The machine took money, but did not print stamp. Queued to speak to someone - who could not help and referred her to a colleague who came - but could not sort the issue and referred her back to staffed till. Sorted. But it took over half an hour to do what should have been a simple transaction which was for £3.75!

TrustpilotToxic company with useless management
Queues at the Watford branch inside WHSmiths are always unacceptably long - the case in many Post offices around the country. There are 4 windows but rarely more than 2 staff and often it's just one serving as the other shuffles papers around. I spoke to the manager who said she'd asked for 40 more hours per week but they only gave her 4 I think. The company is being run into the ground by the lowest quality central management imageinable and unfortunate workers and customers are being put into a toxic situation of confrontation as frustration mounts. Then management puts up notices around warning customers how rudeness is not tolerated. It's gaslighting at its finest.I've seen feedback on here responded to with a 'Thank you for your feedback, I'll pass this along' - you know it is an attempt to look like someone cares but they don't. Probably due to the unionised staff, low standards, low expectations and the view that the customer is a problem seems to be endemic at the Post Office company.

A parcel was delivered to Stafford Post Office in Greengate Street which I refused to collect as Royal Mail had delivered there 24 hours later than due to. The Post Office are due to pass over to Royal Mail if collection is not made within 18 days - there still was no update on tracking 21 days later. I had told Post Office 6 days after parcel had been delivered that I declined it. It finally was returned to the seller 6 weeks later.

TrustpilotFed up with attitude at Leigh Park PO
Fed up with attitude at Leigh Park post office. Before I could say it was for overseas I was told if I didn't tell him in future, and he printed a UK stamp, there would be no refund. I pointed out the airmail sticker but was told he never looked for those. I got told off for putting a customs sticker on a large letter even though he needed the information on it. Asked for proof of posting and said they weren't available for standard international. Asked for the letter back so I photograph it, but wouldn't let me, then managed to provide proof of posting certificate. Often on the phone speaking a foreign language while serving customers. I could go on, but I will leave it there.

TrustpilotPost Office needs to join the 21st Century
I posted a parcel at the Post Office two months ago. Despite having attached a printed address label, the staff member, when entering the postcode, somehow missed out a letter - this incorrect postcode was used to generate the barcode on the postage label, as I discovered over a month later after the parcel still had not arrived at its destination. It turns out that Royal Mail doesn't look at the printed address label, but relies on the barcode instead.I spent several hours on the phone to Royal Mail trying to track down my parcel. Royal Mail would not accept any responsibility as the Post Office has made a mistake with the postcode. So I went to the Post Office, who wouldn’t accept any responsibility either, all they did was give me a lost parcel claim form to try to get compensation from Royal Mail, knowing that Royal Mail would not accept any liability as the mistake was the Post Office’s.In the end I filled in a complaint on the Post Office website combining this latest issue, with another issue at the same Post Office (the staff member forgot to add a customs declaration to parcel going to Europe, the parcel was returned a month later). A few weeks later they sent me a PDF voucher for my inconvenience. The amount was well below the value of the lost parcel (£50), and only just covered the lost postage costs. However on trying to redeem the voucher, at first the staff member at the Post Office said she couldn’t scan the voucher barcode off my phone screen, and that I would need to print it. I queried this, as a print out would be firstly, a waste of resources, and secondly that a print out would have exactly the same barcode as on the screen. I buy email only concert tickets, exhibition tickets, etc. with barcodes that can be scanned digitally without requiring a print out, why could she not do this? Again, she refused to scan the barcode unless it was on a print out. So I asked if I could ask her colleague to try. Her colleague was able to successfully scan the barcode from my phone, and he asked for proof of identity, which I gave him. On checking this he informed me that he actually did need a printed copy as he would need to physically stamp the piece of paper as proof that I had redeemed the voucher. I left without my compensation money. There are a number of issues I have identified here. The Post Office seems to be stuck half way in the past on a system that relies on the one hand, on computer generated barcodes to automate the delivery process, but relies on human eyesight and competency to enter the postcode correctly (or incorrectly in my case) into a computer. My address label was printed, surely there must be a way to scan and input this data directly into the computer, rather than risking human error? And then why did the Post Office email me a compensation voucher (again with a barcode) as a PDF, when ultimately they needed a printed hardcopy to be manually stamped? Why not automate the whole process? Why bother emailing a digital voucher, they had my address and could just have posted me the printed voucher to begin with. Why create reams of paper waste just to prove that a voucher has been redeemed? - a voucher that had a barcode that needed to be digitally scanned in any case.I am sure there are many more instances of this ridiculous manual vs digital wastage/inefficiency in the Post Offices’s systems. Not to mention poor customer service when things do go wrong. It’s 2023 they need to get a grip and sort it out already. In future I plan to cut out the Post Office altogether and buy my postage directly from Royal Mail.

The post office, a place where surliness, lack of customer service, bad attitudes, slow service and contempt for the customer is positively encouraged, I'm talking about the Exmouth branch in W H Smiths but it could be anywhere in the country I've found, why is this? If I could dispense with them I would and now with bank closures we have to use them for some banking activities. If you love queuing endlessly you'll love it here.

TrustpilotLong queue frustration …
Stood in an increasingly frustrated queue to be served, apparently only 1 person serving, then another turned up but did not serve. Many signs warning that rudeness and abuse won’t be tolerated which means you cannot even query what is happening. I saw the QR code for post office review and leant forward to activate it . When I got to the front of the queue the man serving told me that there was only one till working so cannot serve more than one person at a time. If a notice had been put up, or people informed of this much irritation could have been avoided. As it is I try and avoid using Oxted post office as the service is slow and poor.

TrustpilotI'd give -5 if it were possible
I'd give -5 if it were possible, on the contrary to the amazing postmen and post women we have, the local general post office is just not good. You seem to have a policy of employing women with hidden agendas and bad attitudes. They got rid of one bad apple that clearly hated herself let alone the customers. Now years later ( a month ago) I was asked to leave the queue to send my item via the shop till with someone I'd never seen before.Im Always clued up on the weight and cost of sending my parcels, leaving no ambiguity. This person ( Hitler) did half a job, was rude, demanding, short and sent me away with a payment receipt but no proof of posting receipt. Fortunately I figured her out. Came back in, waited, asked for the receipt, got it along with a load of sarcasm, " thank you, have a nice day" ( I had already thanked her when she did half a job)The parcel never made it to Sweden, well we know it never made it out of Berkshire.Where do you get these rough as you like people? Is it part of the pre requisites to getting the job or do they think running a post office gives them some control over the general public?Had I not realised and gone back to get the proof of posting , I wouldn't have been able to make a claim from you, Coincidence or not ???The regular woman is OK at.
