TrustpilotThe worst letting experience ever!
The worst letting experience ever!! Asked Peter Alan to come out and value our property for letting. Sounds simple enough but they cocked up the time and date not once, not twice but THREE times in a row. This even after multiple phone calls and false promises and excuses from their branch managers Charlotte and Rees, who just blamed each othrr departments in super professional mannerPlease save yourself time and headache. They are just a bunch of incompetent, useless sorry excuses of estate agents. If they can't even record their appointments correctly or successfully turn up at the property to get themselves some business, imagine their level of incompetence

Moving in we had a couple of issues due to the cleaning of the home and grout etc, we had offered to do things ourself but they pushed to get it done themselves, couldn’t thank the head office more they really do their best!, they use a thing called tili which helps you move things like council tax, WiFi etc it’s amazing, wish I could give a better rating for this place it was much better than my previous estate agency!

TrustpilotBuyers and Vendors beware
No transparency and not at all forthcoming with information about offers, saying it’s illegal for them to give details (like amounts of other offers). Making claims that you can’t do something because of non-existent laws is not only misleading but it’s morally wrong. They haul you into the office so they can look through your finances and ‘validate’ your offer, and try to sell you a mortgage with a £599 fee attached. This is an absolute rip off, they claim that this means your mortgage advice is for life but they’re really just creating their own monopoly. They’re putting off vendors accepting people with independent mortgages so the vendor goes with the individual who has a mortgage through Peter Alan. Vendors also beware as this could cost you money in terms of turning down higher offers. Peter Alan are social justice cowboys. Now agents can’t legally charge extortionate letting fees, they’re finding other legitimate ways to con people. Eventually people will cotton on and this practice will hopefully be banned. Get a mortgage independently, keep them competitive so they can remain somewhat fair. Don’t buy into the fact that they need to ‘validate’ your offer, this is mortgage pressure selling tactic. They’re legally obliged to present all offers to the vendor (that’s ACTUAL law).

TrustpilotBeware of this immoral and parasitic company. Avoid at all costs.
No matter how much you clean and even if you left the property in a better condition that when you arrived they will charge you regardless. This is because since September 1st 2019 they are no longer given carte blanche to charge their immoral and unfair letting fees. They are now looking to extract money from their tenants in any way that they can. Me and my fiance have recently emigrated to Australia and before we left we spent a week tidying and emptying the property. After already paying over £1000 in fees for 6 months staying somewhere that costs £575 a month, the agency came back to us with £420 in charges for what amounted to "dusting, sweeping and wiping down surfaces", a job that their cleaner on £7.50 an hour would have completed in less than 30 minutes. If you can do anything to avoid this company I suggest you do so as their practices are absolutely appalling. You will not get your deposit back.

GoogleSo from my experience Peter Alan deals with lettings rather differently than other letting agents. When I was contacting lettings agents, you give your details and they run you through some questions to accurately reflect what you are looking for, and how they can best help you. Now this is where Peter Alan differs, whilst some letting agents contact you and inform you of all new properties in the area you might like in your price range, I only really got mentions from Peter Alan once I had viewed a property with them. Now I don't know if this was coincidence or not but it seemed like I was doing all the work, trying to find my ideal place, and could of really skipped providing them all the information and just contacted them once I found a property I wanted to view.
I do have to say once I had found a property I wanted to view Peter Alan was rather quick and prompt trying to get me to view it. Now the only issues is they seemed to be under the impression I can leave work at any time, often trying to book in viewings at 1-3pm, whilst I and most people would be in work. Now I understand this could be when they had availability to view the property so I won’t hold that against them, and I will have to give them credit that they were able to arrange some viewings later in the day, so it wasn’t all bad. When it came down to viewing the property I will say I was rather lucky, as the first viewing was a property I wanted. The letting agent wasn’t knowledgeable about the property, admitting that this was also the first time they had viewed the property, however that just made it more of a journey for the both of us.
All my queries were answered promptly and chased up between me, the landlord and the letting agent, so I will say well done to Peter Alan for that. Even when we went back and forth regarding the letting price, my letting agent didn't quibble once and went back several times to the landlord in an effort to drive the price down.
I will say there was some issues we had with Peter Alan during the contract signing and aftermath of this. This was as a result of things being said prior to signing of the contract, which wasn't included in the contract, which Peter Alan then denied being said and wouldn't hold up to. I will say this did devalue our relationship with Peter Alan but this wasn't an absolute deal breaker. Whilst it is annoying they basically use the draft ASL template on their website and put your details in it, it seems crazy to think how much they charge to do this. All in all the signing process was quick, however the issues with clauses not being entered into the contract did create some tension during the move in.
So evaluating the whole Peter Alan experience I think I would sum it up as being memorable. Some things like issues with clauses not being included in the contract did dampen my opinion of Peter Alan, but on the whole I have to say they were rather good. One person I will have to note is my letting agent (Aneurin Lewis), who was with me during the whole process, he was really professional, eager to answer questions and quick to respond to me, so I do have to give credit to that. Ultimately the question needs to be asked would I go with Peter Alan again? Quite simply put yes I would, I found the letting agent to be profession and understanding, and the process as a whole wasn’t too stressful. Sure some things let this down, but these weren’t deal breakers.

GoogleI used Peter Alan to rent a property and to be fair they are one of the best estate agents in Cardiff to deal with. Aneurin Lewis who showed me around the property and dealt with all the paperwork was highly professional throughout the whole process. As was the letting manager Sarah who despite a few issues that we had still helped us in securing the property. Would highly recommend Peter Alan for anyone looking to rent a property in Cardiff.

PETER ALAN - WHITCHURCH CARDIFF BRANCH.It took a short 3 weeks for Lisa, Mari & Jennifer to sell our house in Aberdulais Road, Llandaff North, All fantastic girls to talk to, and girls that get the job done, no faffing around. They were on the ball with everything from start to finish, they made sure the chain of 4 buyers & sellers were kept up to date and everything ran smoothly. If we ever sell again we will definitely return to Lisa & the team. Thanks

TrustpilotSuper super service
I cannot praise everyone at the Pontypridd branch enough. I live abroad, but decided last year to buy a holiday home in Tonypandy. After two less than great experiences with other local estate agents, I found the most adorable property through Peter Alan. All communication has been spot on, clear and prompt. Information and advice has been super, and when I was panicking about the wait for the survey, the reassurance was extremely welcome. From my first contact, through to the viewing and right up to comp!region, the whole Pontypridd team have been great. Thank you SO much. I definitely recommend Peter Alan Pontypridd.

TrustpilotAwful company to have to deal with for a high price
I've lived in a private rented property that's managed by Peter Alan for 5 years and not once have I had an interaction with them I've been pleased with. Not calling you back when promised is their staple, and if they finally do, they're usually empty promises to call back a further time, usually without a quick resolution. They are so disorganised that clerical errors that you can forgive businesses for making infrequently, are basically standard. Names wrong on tenancy agreements, making generally poor choices on what contractors they use, repairs (of varying urgency) left unnoticed because the person that deals with them happens to be off (?), and 6-monthly inspections that actually happen more like once a year (which they expect you to wait in 9-5 for). On one occasion, when I'd changed a co-tenant, they accidentally marked the property as unoccupied. My landlord missed a month of rent that I'd paid Peter Alan, and all my utility companies sent me final bills. Council Tax shot up by £40 a month because they stopped collecting my Direct Debit, and couldn't reinstate in time for the next payment. Another particular gripe is that once a year, they send me an invite to renew my tenancy agreement, and it's worded in a way that says I MUST pay them a £100 renewal fee if I want to stay in the property. I have a friend that understands property law who told me that as long as the landlord agrees to a rolling contract, Peter Alan has no right to charge a fee because no new contract is needed. This isn't even mentioned in the small print on their email. This is a shifty move that makes me feel that lesser informed people are shelling out money for, just to fund a quality service they aren't getting. My landlord and I share the same opinion - we wouldn't go near them if we didn't have to, especially because both of us pay relatively-high fees for this type of service. Don't bother.

TrustpilotCould not imagine a worse experience
They have absoutely no regard for their tennants. No ownership over any problem, blaming the landlord for every issue when they could easily step in and do something about it given the extortionate rate of fees they charge. They mismanaged my move in to the extent that I was nearly made homeless, and I was given a list of excuses and no apology. No concessions were made despite my obvious problem with, and complaints about, what went wrong. Landlord's fault apparently. You manage the property, and you need to change your awful mindset about responsibility and the tone and attitude of your staff over the phone.Moving into the property we found several problems and were met with indifference. When a contractor did come to solve a minor issue, he was quite unprofessional. I was told on the phone by peter alan about other issues: "We arent legally obligated to fix it, so we won't". Great customer care.I am going to be a landlord myself soon and I would never associate with a company that treats tennants so poorly.

GoogleI had a great experience recently with Aneurin, I was travelling up from London for a viewing with him and he took the time to also recommend further properties for me to view which matched my criteria. One of those additional properties ended up being my dream house which I would never have seen without his input! He is super friendly, helpful and thorough, I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again in my next property search!

GoogleWhat an incredible service from the amazing team at Albany Road. From our first meeting to the sale completion today we have had nothing but exceptional service and support. Just 5 weeks to exchange contracts and under 6 weeks to completion and through what is meant to be the most stressful of times - the whole team worked professionally to make the whole process seamless. Without their expert knowledge of the local market and their in depth understanding of their client needs we would never have secured a sale so quickly. The personal and friendly service really did make a difference as they were able to confidently match buyers to our house and find new home owners quickly. A service you’d never get with online agencies. Highly recommended team of estate agents who always put the client first. Thanks to all involved from the bottom of our hearts.

TrustpilotPeter Alan: All about landlords, no concern about tenants.
Uploading what seem like great properties at a great price in order to clickbait people into calling seems to be the new marketing plan at Peter Alan, Maesteg. Landlords; you have to ask yourselves: is this the estate agency you want to associate with? Tenants; you have to ask yourselves, are the astronomical fees really worth this kind of treatment from what should be a 5 star estate agency?I would usually expect better from the 'leading' estate agent in the area.

Still not had our bond Back had to leave property due to mold and damp that had been reported 5 months before and was making our kids ill. Rats in garden and attic. All for landlord no support for us. We left property in better condition than had it in and tool pics yet they have told us that the house was dirty ect which is untrue. Not inventory done as they took over tenancy when landlord moved over to them. They also entered the property to take pics as its up for sale and didn't tell us moved items in the property and opend all blinds without my permission 6 weeks and still not bond Back they are the most horrific company around!!!!

TrustpilotWasted my time and money.
This agent took us to view 2 houses, we were told that the first property was not for sale any more. We put an offer in for the full asking price for the second property. Literally just before we were due to complete the sale and after paying for searches and other fees they said the same thing we were told when we viewed the first property - no longer for sale, we weren't given a reason or an apology for wasting our time and money. Terrible agent.
