Seymour’s have been great

Seymour’s have been very patient with us as we have touched base every few years to check out the local market. On finally finding a house we loved they helped sell our house within two days at asking price. Super friendly, easy to chat to and nice that they are local and know the area very well.

I used Seymours of Ripley to sell my home of over 30 years. Although I mainly dealt with Sam, I found the whole office team very friendly and informative. They were always available and happy to explain the various processes involved and answer any silly questions!

Friendly, hard working estate agent

Seymours Knaphill have been excellent. Staff were friendly and supportive at all times. They achieved a quick sale and then worked tirelessly to keep viewings going after the first sale fell through, so it wasn't long before we had a second offer.Seymours have a dedicated 'back room' team, which means that the agents can focus on the task of getting your property sold. This works very well.

I bought my home through Seymours in 2014 and 7 years later I sold it with them. They are the best agent in the village and I 100% recommend them to everyone. A great team with a brilliant mixture of sales and customer experience focus. Thank you Ben and Joe.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Could have been less stressful

Buying and selling properties is undoubtedly stressful. I found the initial meeting very friendly and positive. In retrospect, I think the price set was too high and I should have improved the bungalow before putting it on the market. I think the fact ‘it needed a lot of work’ led to loss of potential buyers and the drop in price needed to sell 7/8 months later was much greater than the amount of money required to upgrade. I guess we all hoped for a quick sale.Seymour’s undoubtedly worked hard to show many potential buyers the property for which I’m grateful.Once a buyer’s offer had been accepted there were many queries and I was not reassured that as a result of further surveys etc that the buyer was committed until out of the blue they wanted to complete the sale within the week. Exchange or completion dates hadn’t been discussed. Maybe a solicitor issue. However I felt forced to accept an early completion date which made things very difficult to arrange clearing and cleaning of the house and garden. We managed to do this working around the clock and I handed the keys in to Seymours and was met with frankly a disappointingly under whelming response. I thought estate agents usually made completion date a special occasion with flowers etc for the parties concerned! Clearly I am out of date.

Ailsa · 7 September 2023

Agent replied · 19 June 2024

Thanks for the review Alison. Whilst we try to make every property journey as pleasurable as possible, there are always bumps in the road, many of which are out of our control. Nonetheless, every completion is a success despite how hard it may have been to get there and that alone should be a celebration for all parties. Without such reviews we would never know the areas we need to improve on, so again, thank you for sharing with us, and we apologise for the disappointing completion.

Would 100% recommend

Fantastic experience start to finish. 3 months from viewing to completion thanks to fast acting staff which surpassed all expectations. Incredibly helpful and quick with emails - responding to all of my (many, and potentially silly) questions as a first time buyer. Constantly checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly, and following up quickly on enquiries.

Deceived by Seymours to proceed with purchase

Seymours tricked us with the completion date for purchasing a property, never-ending chains, etc. When we were about to pull out due to delays, they told us we would be able to store our belongings at the new property's garage the day before completion. The person who said to have arranged this (I have it written on emails) is now on annual leave and we've found ourselves stuck in the street with our belongings. No words to describe the unprofessionalism, let alone the integrity of these Seymours people.

Seymours in Haslemere have been second to none...

Seymours in Haslemere have done a brilliant job in not only marketing my home and securing a good buyer at a fair market price, but also in representing me in the purchase of my next home. Joss, Lily, Paige and Louis have been my contacts throughout and they've all been top notch. I'd highly recommend this business if you are looking at your options when selling or buying a property. It is also worth mentioning that my sale/purchase process was achieved in a very challenging market in mid-2023 with constant changes in interest rates and the havoc that created for buyers and sellers. Seymours kept the show on the road and focused on the task in hand despite the challenges. I'm very happy with my choice of estate agent and I'd highly recommend this team.

Not the best experience

Seymours are well known in Woking and they gave a very competitive fee and price so we opted for them. They were aggressive at getting people through the door as their main tactic. Meant we had a lot of viewings which was good but we didn't have any offers early on. Had to cut prices a couple of times, and then they released a similar property a few weeks later which really put us on the back foot. Felt they had overpriced us from the off. All good getting people through the door, but felt that it was a numbers game more than anything and we had bad luck too. When we did finally get an offer, it was lower than hoped (almost 15% lower than the first quoted - to be clear, the market was trending downards too). We had been waiting a while so we accepted only to find the buyer raising issue after issue. Not sure how the property was pushed to the potential buyer but Iit got too much as they asked for discount after discount, so we decided to pull it from them and moved to another estate agent in the area. We sold through them within 6 months. Other people seem to have a good experience with Seymours Woking, but ours wasn't the best

Mike · 11 August 2023

Agent replied · 19 June 2024

Thank you for your candid feedback, Mike. Reviews like yours hold immense value as they provide us with the means to consistently evaluate our services and pinpoint areas that warrant improvement. Pricing is a nuanced matter, often contingent on a multitude of variables, heavily influenced by the depth of knowledge and experience involved. Typically, if an asking price is disproportionately high in comparison to alternatives, it can severely impede the generation of prospective viewings. In instances where we do facilitate viewings, it remains paramount for us to attentively absorb the feedback offered. This allows us to enact pertinent adjustments, spanning from recommendations regarding interior design, decor, landscaping, our marketing strategies, and naturally, the pricing itself. Furthermore, fluctuations in market confidence or shifts in interest rates can introduce an element of stress, affecting not only the seller but also the buyer and us as agents. Our commitment is unwavering in striving to ensure that every individual's property journey with us is characterised by minimal stress. Regrettably, this experience has not reached the 100% satisfaction mark for you this time.

Fantastic customer service and end results

James and Anna along with the team were fantastic with supporting us to find a home that suited us and met our needs, not just in terms of cost but also size, space and future growth. They took the time to listen, take notes and actually spend quality time with us to understand what we are after which has put us in such a better place. If ever we move again, we'll be calling seymours in Addlestone.

Kudos to the team at Knaphill

Kudos to the team at Knaphill and Woking. Appreciate it. Recommended.Well structured and mannered dealings and communication. Posses ownership of the house hunt. Appreciable support in finding homes and suggesting available ones understanding what client is looking for.Readily reachable via email/ phone.Certain issue i found is some comments made in viewing are not true. Certain confirmations are made by assuming (may be this is person specific). So do confirm any such comments via mail and keep that as evidence in black&white so can vouch if any discrepancy later.Other than that haven't got any concerns or bad vibe with the team or the POC i was working with. Seymours was patient with the processing and did helped me on all my queries and handled well all the transactions with the sellers and conveyance.

Terrible Experience as a buyer

We have just pulled out of a house purchase and a large part of that was due to the incompetence of Seymours. Never told the sellers of any of our appointments to visit the house which caused so many delays, the solicitors they recommended we even more hassle to work with, any time we rang Seymours to discuss something they had no idea who we were even though we were speaking with them frequently, their manner came across as very lazy and uncaring. Im not sure what they were getting their commission for. When we pulled out they pushed the blame to us but and took no responsibility, if we had done the purchase through better agents we would probably be in the house now. Such a terrible experience and we feel so bad for the sellers as it could have been such a different story.

ER · 21 June 2023

Agent replied · 19 June 2024

Hello ER. Thanks for sharing your experience, and apologies that it's not met your or our expectations. Could you let us know which office you've been dealing with so we can look into the matter further please? At Seymours, we work very hard on all elements of communication, be they with buyers, sellers and importantly the solicitors not just acting for you but the entire chain if there is one.

BEWARE THESE FRAUDSTERS!

I rented a property from Seymours recently and when I moved out they tried the classic tactic of falsifying/ exaggerating damages in order to profit. Mark on the worktop? Replace the entire worktop.Mark on the floor? Replace the entire floor. They tried to charge me for a replacement hallway bulb that stopped working shortly after I moved in. They even had the audacity to try and charge me for the entire place to be repainted even though it needed a coat of paint when I moved in! They honestly think that if they press you enough to pay their ridiculous 'damage' fees that you'll simply give in and pay due to ignorance or them threatening you. They think they can refurbish entire properties and bill tenants for the privilege, absolutely shocking behaviour. I've made a complaint about them and sent my evidence to the deposit holding company. If you're in the same situation, email me at seymoursarecriminals at protonmail.com and I'll happily pass on the evidence I have of them lying.

Bad business, morals and ethics

If I could leave, no stars, I would. Seymour’s of Addlestone are nothing but a bunch of sharks! I have my property up for sale with another agent. I have never approached Seymours to sell my property nor would I. They approached my daughter who apparently they had her telephone number and details listed as the owner of my property. They didn’t ask her if she owned the property when they called up but continued to ask if they could market it, how dare they! I had not even told my daughter, I was looking to move! According to GDPR rules, no details should be kept after a certain period unless that person has updated their consent, apparently the details they have are 3 years old and she has not been approached in that time by Seymour’s! Let’s get this fact clear SHE DOESN'T OWN THE PROPERTY! This has caused an argument within the family and caused no end of problems. If you’re looking to sell your property stay well clear of Seymour’s because all they want is their commission, they don’t give a damn about you as a customer. When I called the manager, I found him to be aggressive and couldn’t even admit they were in the wrong. I phoned back to get head office number and I was told they didn’t have it but they would call me back, it’s a good job I haven’t held my breath!!!!! This heavy-handed mob approach is not the way to gain clients and influence business!Having seen your response says it all! No proper apology nor how you intend to change processes to stop a repeat or how you hold information and data on people!
