This company promised me the earth the moon and the stars as well as indicating they would leave no stone unturned to find me a tenant. I had to do my own viewings, was fed unsuitable potential tenants, had next to nil contact from them to discuss how best to market my property. Overall they were unhelpful and the icing on the cake was when I sacked this useless and horrendous set up, the lettings manager had the nerve to say to me that I was too far out for them right from the beginning. Avoid at all costs.

When we decided to move house we contacted a well known estate agent in watford after 9 weeks we only had 5 viewing & two offers well below our asking price. Being an estate agent myself, usually I am quick to criticise when dealing with other agents. A lot of lettings agents I have dealt with in the past are usually unhelpful and pretty incompetent, so it was a breath of fresh air when renting through Gibbs Gillespie. When dealing with Kate Restall, I found her extremely professional and helpful and she certainly didn't lack personality which as an estate agent is certainly one trait that is needed. From the moment we had our offer accepted, to the moment we moved in, there was never a lack of communication, queries were answered as late as 10pm at night via email and the whole process was just very straight forward. This is an agent I would definitely recommend.

All of the staff we have dealt with at Gibbs Gillespie have been fantastic. This has certainly been underlined by the helpful and dedicated nature of Isaac Wren. He was very friendly and helpful throughout the application process, and went over and above what we expected by actually going to the property and checking out one of our requests in person, before getting back to us very promptly with the answer. We had recently returned from Spain and was looking for somewhere to rent,having spoke with a number of estate agents and informed them what we wanted was becoming very concerned at the properties we were showed. We contacted Gibbs Gillespie and spoke with Isaac,not only did he take the time to obtain the relevant info he then sent a few properties by email to see if this what we was looking for,he understood our requirements and within a few days he found us a property. This young man is not only a an asset to Gibbs Gillespie he is also very professional in the way he deals with clients,he goes the extra mile to help achieve clients expectations. Would recommend both Isaac and Gibbs Gillespie.

Avoid this joke of a company !!!

We used josh from the Rickmansworth office, he told us a load of lies to get us to sign up and overvalued the property He also said there was no tie in and we could leave after 7 weeks which we now realise was another lie I guess he has no idea on selling as we haven’t received a single offer !!After the 20 week period we will find an agent that is professional and able to sell properties Avoid Gibbs at all costs if you have any sense just read all the other reviews ( I wish I had !!)

If you are satisfied by sales patter

If you are satisfied by sales patter, glossy brochures & flashy branch ofices then you are in the right place.However if you want an accurate & realistic valuation (not a fairy story one that is solely to get you under contract) & thereafter a planned sales strategy then you may be disappointed.My experience of a recent sale (or non-sale really) proved almost every stereotype. Wildly inaccurate valuation in order to influence instruction & suggesting poor knowledge of local market. Launched without further consultation on either price or target demographic. Thereafter a steady stream of unsuitable viewings, no shows & wasted weekends.It appears that simply publishing the details to the well known property portals & waiting for the phone to ring is the limit to sales skills. The ‘database of buyers’ yielded nothing & I would expect more from a ‘leading agent’Far from reasonable communication, poor quality viewings & no cohesive sales strategy other than suggesting regular reductions or to reconsider speculative offers. Any sale is better than no sale, seemingly the thinking behind this. Really?Fortunately we weren’t in a chain & in no urgent rush so simply saw out the prohibitive 20 week contract (check the smallprint!) & will move to a more pro-active agent on a shorter tie in.Without the sharp suits, glossy booklets & slick presentations it is just the same as any other agency relying on Rightmove & Zoopla to make the phone ring.If you want a sale in good time & at the right price though you will be better off somewhere that the sales staff are a little hungrier to work with you.

Extremely disorganized and dishonest. Their left hand doesn't speak to right hand. Took ages to organize a viewing on a million pound plus property because they have two agents who don't care to coordinate with each other. Lied to us about the state of the property - saying its new refurbished when the property is actually a dump that hasn't been touched for 40 years as the owners there confirmed. Extremely rude when challenged on why they lied and wasted our time. Never going to buy or sell anything through these cowboys.

I am competing this on behalf of myhusband and son who were shown round various properties by Tom on Monday 9/1. They had done a number of viewings via and with various different agents and the only one who impressed them was Tom and he impressed them greatly by his knowledge of the properties and the areas they were in. Many of the other agents seemed to know nothing at all, to even basic information. We were considering more than one area and have in fact decided to purchase in Hertford. Despite the fact that they would have been pleased to give Tom the business, this was not possible but one thing is certain - if we ever needed to market a property or recommend someone to do so in Rickmansworth Gibbs Gillespie would be who we would choose.
