They promise one thing on the phone but do another via email, leading to confusion. The agents are rude and arrogant, showing no respect. They also use manipulative tactics to push buyers into overpaying. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Stirling Ackroyd!!!

It was a challenging task to sell my flat during a pandemic, but they gave me great advice the entire time and really helped guide me through the process. James Banister - highly recommended!

I've been renting my flat through Stirling Ackroyd for the past 4 years, James Banister is the managing agent of the flat and I can highly recommend him. He promptly responds to all my emails about issues I may have with the flat (e.g. hot water or boiler related) and every single time he has sent maintenance to fix any issues as soon as possible. I can always rely on James.

Genuinely Could Be The Worst Business On The Planet (Of All Time)

Am very sad that trust pilot doesn’t allow me to put 0 stars. 1 is far far too generous, and frankly it’s offensive to businesses who have worked hard to earn their 1 star out of 5. In any case, DO NOT TRUST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS - THEY ARE ALL FAKE.I wrote another review a while ago that they tried to have taken down (and somehow it’s miraculously disappeared now). They fill these pages with fake reviews and petition to get all the bad ones taken down. Maybe if they spent less time combatting people’s genuine anger and disgust with their service and more time actually doing their jobs this complete and utter shitshow of a company wouldn’t be receiving reviews like this one.I’ve lived in my property for 9 months now. On Day 1 check-in we noticed the kitchen tap was broken. It’s 9 months later, the tap still doesn’t work. How is it even possible to be that incompetent and to have that little regard for your customers? Stirling Ackroyd you should hang your collective heads in shame. If you want this review to be taken down, fix my goddamn tap!!

I am writing this review in relation to the house we bought through Townend estate agents. Whilst searching for our first property we have found quite a few estate agents very unhelpful, rude and incompetent. Townend is just opposite. They are quick, to the point and fair in negotiations. They provided multiple viewings before making the offer. Chased with the solicitors of both sides ensuring there is no unnecessary delays. I am also satisfied with their in-house financial brokers. I found them very competitive comparing to high street banks. In about 2 months we completed our sale and stepped in our own house. Hurray!!! I thank Harry, Richard and Damian for their genuine help throughout the process.

I purchased my property with Townends (Whitton branch) and I can highly recommend it. The process was smooth and as stress free as the staff could make it. Sharon, Harry and Damian were attentive and professional at all times. Being a chain free property also smoothed the process markedly and if you do not have the time or knowledge about mortgage advisors, surveyors and solicitors, they will offer you some professionals and companies and ease up the process. The only issues I would like to point out was that I always managed to view the property immediately before agreeing to buy it. However, when the surveyor report came and I wanted to take a builder to view the house and give me a quote of how much it would cost, it did take longer to get a viewing. Also, the previous owner misplaced the garage keys and I was told several times they would get them at some point. After I transferred the money and I was legally bound to get the property, I was told that the owner had lost the keys! I know it was the owner’s responsibility, but I would have expected Townends to insist about it. Luckily when I finally managed to open the garage it was empty! I was terrified of finding lots of rubbish inside. I would have scored the highest number, but only due to those minor issues, I have given it a four. Yet, if you find your dream house, do choose Townends. They will help you make your dream come true!

Highly recommend Townends Whitton to anyone looking in the area. I spoke with Harry in regards to my search for a property, I was informed being FTB of the no stamp duty regulation for anything up to 300k that came in back end of last year which I was not aware of. He has also offered me all the services you would want when buying a house I.e mortgage advice, panel of solicitors at reasonable rates and also surveying company. Great service and when the one comes to me purchasing I will definitely be in touch with Harry.

Be very careful in renting a property through Stirling Ackroyd. Or as a landlord giving them your property to rent out. Despite being aware of a change in our circumstances, and a stellar payment record even throughout Covid when I had lost my job, they put up the rent by 20%. And now they are taking their time in refunding my security deposit. It has been 2 weeks without an update. They don't care about people. And they are not professional. Conduct business with them at your peril.

I have used a local letting agent for my 2 flats for 25 years.A year ago the agent got taken over by Sterling Ackroyd.Months later my tenant emailed me to ask why the deposit provider had changed.I had to admit that I had not heard.I took it up with Sterling and found that they had not copied my email correctly from the previous agent.So although the landlord is legally responsible for deposits I had not been consulted.Then a short time ago I had a phone call from them to say that annual renewal was due.I was astonished to hear that my email still was not correct and that they were not aware that the tenancy was periodicAnd that they did not know the fees that applied to my account.This is a shocking level of incompetence Regards John

For landlords they make sure that they find the best tenant for the property. Nelsson and Leila were particularly fab!
